@@annmarieb987 or we can just accept the way different people pronounce words I mean I’m a Trini too and my kids are Americans and we know that we don’t pronounce words all the same so enjoy and don’t be a critic 😀
Brother I'm so happy that you visited our beautiful country of Trinidad and Tobago. Big ups to Chef Jason and all who was involved with your stay here. Double salute to Joy's Roti delight. Thank you for showcasing our food on your platform. And hopefully you'll be back soon to experience more of our culture. Stay blessed in all your travels and upcoming success. Ps I'll be the first Trini to tell you big congratulations on hitting 1 million subscribers on RU-vid. one love from beautiful Trinidad and Tobago ❤ 🇹🇹.
Dave I'm Trinidadian but in Europe and you are KILLIN' me!!!! Ty for doing this brother and repping my people and their food. It is the one thing that transcends politics and socio economic issues in Trinidad and Tobago. People eat together and we share our unique cultures with each other....Indian, Creole, Portugese, Spanish, African and everyone's FAVOURITE in Trinidad and Tobago.....CHINESE FOOD!!!
@@natasha5622 If you check David's latest vlogs/vids on this channel, you'll see him featuring AFRICAN inspired Trinbagonian dishes eg. PELAU, SOUSE, TOOLUM etc, Trini Chinese style food, Middle Eastern inspired foods eg. GYROS, East Indian inspired dishes, EUROPEAN inspired dishes eg. PUDDING (English influenced) Salt fish (Portuguese influenced), PASTELS (Spanish influenced) etc.
I absolutely love doubles. I’m so glad my trini friend showed me a place that is not far from where I live. I can just imagine how delicious all the food is in T&T
I have seen in a couple of his ( mark weins ) videos and read comments from him, that he very much would love to visit Trinidad & Tobago. Hopefully soon he'll be to make that trip.
@@shaunsingh4855 time will tell, I really hope he comes through as I believe with our food he can find that perfect blend of spice/heat that he craves!
Nina is so enthusiastic and sweet🥺 I just went onto her channel after this and I really love how authentic you both are about the food you try. Could tell your genuine love for the work you do just from these videos
I'm so proud of my country and thank you David for showcasing our food and doing so with such pride. Also, just a side note the curried dark meat is darker because of the type of curry powder used so ironically enough much like ourselves and our culture our food is very diverse. for instance for meats like Duck, Goat, Beef, etc. you'll see us use a curry powder specifically for duck/goat and that just meshes so well with darker meat but it also has a darker color.
So enlightening and refreshing to see such a true representation of our local food... so much knowledge expressed .. and the local references were so on point. The genuine love and appreciation for the food is everything.
Trini food is the best food in the world. Joys have the best tastiest dishes. Whenever you in town give it a try. So nice for you guys to showcase some of our popular foods
Hi guys the Trinifood culture is so rich, you guys are only enjoying the East Indian cuisine. we have African Cuisine which is extremely tasty as well with dishes like Palau a rice dish traditionally prepared with pigeon peas, chicken or beef, with Vegas cooked together in coconut milk. we have shark and bake. Bake and salt fish. Macaroni pie, Callaloo, ochro rice, Bhagie Rice and many more.
Thank you for highlighting my country food . Well done I always try to introduce it to my coworkers . And when they taste it they always ask when I will bring more . Next time I go to Florida I definitely will be there at joy's . Looks really amazing I could imagine the taste.
In The Bahamas we have many ways to prepare conch. Try some stew conch and i bet you will change your tune😉 Trinidad is the best at curries and we the best at conch. I said what I said.💛🇧🇸
Definitely need to visit Bahamas and try it , living in Trinidad but am Grenadian. Also knew about Trini food from small move there when I was 1yr old.🇬🇩🇹🇹😊
Trinidad has some good food but other caribbean countries do as well. What island can beat a Jamaican jerk chicken? Difrnt islands have dfrnt specialty.
My mouth is watering. 😋😋😋curry, roti, palourie, dahl puri...heaven, sheer heaven. Edit: that choka, cassava pone and miti, goodness gracious, stop, you guys are killing me😁😁 What a meal! I am full.
I hope he also explored the other cuisine of Trinidad. Curry might be the staple but there is so much more. Waiting for the series. Hope you had black pudding and hops bread
Watching Ninas face everytime she took ah bite or even ah sip of our soft drinks, make me tear up ah bit and extra proud to be ah Trini!!! Love in the House David
This was so great! When I saw 'Trinidadian' food, I was thinking it would be totally meat focused. I'm a vegetarian and this breakfast was so surprising to me. Loved it...❤❤
@@sherriw7673 oh I see Well Trinidad and Tobago is a nation that's population has mainly indian and african persons and our smaller groups would be Chinese, Syrian, Indigenous peoples, Venezuelans and more, and most if not all are represented in our food
I keep trying to tell him on all the videos he showcases roti, but he probably doesn’t read comments or wants to sound ignorant “it’s ROTI!!!!! Not rodie
my beautiful country thank u David for showcasing our beautiful country also Joy food looks great and original nina u need to introduce Nicole and other vloggers to our great dishes i am proud as a peacock looking at this
Hi I have been following you awhile now, I'm so glad that you came to TNT Trinidad and Tobago, I even love how you represent us in this video I am amazed how you remember everything even the Solo, keep up the good job hope your kids love the gift from Tobago
Love to see our food highlighted. We have a lot of variety. This was just one part of it 😅. On a side note she would have gotten to taste the pommecythere chutney with the pholourie in Trinidad.
Your videos have been super helpful for introducing me to Trinidad food! I am literally waiting to board the plane at the Miami Airport to Port of Spain for my first trip to Trinidad. Looking forward to trying patacon at Anndres!
Wow these snacks have Indian Influence. Bara, Pholourie, Dal Puri are Bengali Terms used in the State of West Bengal, India !! Baigan(Brinjal) Chokha, Tomato Chokha are all North Indian Items. Aloo Curry looked just like it's made in My Home !! 08:30 David got the heat from a Pillow haha !! Double, Triple are unique to Trinidad, its not found in India though ! Solo Drink looked Great !! In love wid Curry Conch just by the Looks and its Texture hope Taste will be much better than just its Looks ! Also Curry Goat !! In India We have different Aloo/Potato Evening Snacks but this Trinidad Aloo Pie looked different though the same as We have here Fried but the Shape is different and maybe the Stuffings too apart from Potato ! Cassava Pone and Khurma looked Delicious too Bruh !! Where's Han Solo at ?? Got a Trailer of how Ur Trinidad & Tobago Vlogs will be like !!
Remember Indo Trinidadians Came from West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh over a century ago so some food will change because they have to make use what ever they have in that region they call home now
Haha this week I started listening to Bengalis speak, they sing when they speak just like us Trinidadians, well some of us.., I knew of Trinis ancestors being from Bihar, UP, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.. but now I know West Bengal
So you need to try Tabanka - a Trini Kitchen next. It’s just off State rd 7 (us 441) in the margate area. Not only do they have the doubles, allooo pie, roti etc, they also have some other Trini dishes you should try.
So am at home in Trinidad watching this...And this is making me so hungry... lol... feeling for doubles and a goat roti.. I can tell you truly enjoyed what you ate.. Great vlog!
Can't wait to see your trini series. First big vlogger i know going there! Obv seen Jamaica but never trini Any other Caribbean countries you're going to visit?
🌸 I have such fond memories of my nana doubles & pholourie with coconut chutney & much much more fabulous food. I loved buying them on Saturday’s, best hot with lots of spice 🌶🇹🇹✨
'Phoulaurie' is our 'Phuluri' and 'Chouka' is our 'Chokka'...That paratha we call here 'Petai paratha'...Even the drinks is similar here...'AppleJ' is our local 'Appyphizz'... So similar to Indian Bengali dishes...
Our Indo Caribbean dishes are so similar to your food is because most of the people who call Trinidad or Guyana home came from West Bengal, Bihar n Uttar Pardesh over a century ago
@@ganeshsookram4287 oh thanks for that info! But why did they go there? It's so crazy and fascinating. Trinidad is not even close to India geographically
@@anosjc Most of the Indians that came from India to the Caribbean n Guyana was poor village farmers who was looking for jobs in big city’s and the British was recruiting people to go to these places because of shortage of cheap labor in the colony by false promises of make a lots of money on a 5 year contract. Once the Indian landed on these far away shore the journey back was too expensive so the British offers land as payment and secure a job force. Now in many of those countries where the British took the Indians the sons n daughters became the driving force of that country n contribute a lot of skill now doctors, lawyers, president , engineers, teachers, etc…… so it was a bitter and sweet journey
Great Video, I live in Ft Lauderdale i'm White and my man is Trini, we visit Joy's regularly, Food is Fantastic, the Vibes and Hangout on a Friday or Saturday night is even better, the owners treat everyone like family. BTW, the wait for the food is well worth it because they make everything fresh to order, The Best Trini Restaurant in South Florida hands down, Thanks for featuring the Trini Culture well, i'm hitting the Like and Subscribe Button NOW🤣🤣
