@@thebackyardhibachi came out really good! I followed your recipe for the yakisoba sauce and it was delicious. Couldn’t find traditional noodles so i improvised with ramen noodles. Used zucchini, carrots, water chestnuts, red and green pepper and smoked pork belly for the meat! If you ever release a cook book i will buy it. Having yakisoba reminded me of when i was stationed in Okinawa.

Good to have a recipe for the sauce but honestly I typically use a bottled teriyaki sauce (Yoshida's) and it's pretty good. A food cart near me also has sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and thai peanut sauce available to drizzle over the top of their yakisoba for some extra flavor, so we're now hooked on always having those too when we make it at home. What I really like about this dish is you can add as many extra vegetables as you like and it's a great way to eat more veggies for people like me that are not a big fan of them. I typically add bean sprouts, red bell pepper, chinese pea pods, and cilantro. YMMV.

Was looking for a recipe for these noodles. The first channel the man was on speed. Next your channel. Thank you for calmly explaining the recipe. Love your background view & Lefty’s unite. My Hibachi place unexpectedly shuddered before the pandemic. The owner was from Micronesia and he gave me his Yum Yum recipe. In turn he wanted spicy rice which I did two versions, am really a baker and he said no sweet tooth. My Yum Yum doesn’t taste like his😢. The man really put love into his dishes, cause times he was off the other dude cooking good just not great. It’s 6:30a.m. could eat a dish of this right now. Lovely presentation 👏!

I got hooked on yakisoba when I lived in Japan. Those Maruchan, pre-made, oil-covered noodles in the bag are the bomb! I can't get them where I live - no Asian markets - crocodile TEARS running down my face! I have to improvise with ramen noodles. Still nice, but just not the same. Ready for a shock? My favorite yakisoba is made with sliced hot dogs. Tonight we are having yakisoba with chopped chicken. Thank you for taking me back...

The onion and carrot have different cooking times... Do you undercook the onion slightly, or overcook the carrot? My guess is leave the onion slightly raw to avoid mushy carrots. Thanks for sharing!
@thebackyardhibachi
@thebackyardhibachi 5 месяцев назад
This can be addressed 3 different ways when stir frying. Cook the ingredients in stages, precook the vegetables with longer cook times or by prepping each ingredient different sizes accordingly.
@jordanbabcock9349
@jordanbabcock9349 5 месяцев назад
@thebackyardhibachi yes it can be addressed with different methods. I am commenting on the method you filmed to instruct us. You added both raw ingredients with no other preparation method. My comment is so that when others fail to achieve a proper meal they understand that the instructor failed them and that they have not failed..and should continue to learn.

When I lived in Japan on Okinawa they would make Yakisoba with Spam. I don't really care for spam (except in those noodles) Would you recommend the pork belly, or bacon or something else?
@thebackyardhibachi

Fried spam is delicious!! I like pork belly because the noodles have a lot of flavor already. If you lighten up in the sauce, then bacon or spam would be perfect.

Almost got a Blackstone 32’ from offerup for a steal but someone got it first. Walmart has it for $297 at my location tho. Just tried this recipe and the sauce with the oister sauce. The ketchup had a higher flavor overall(followed the instructions in order). I personally didn’t like it( it’s eatable tho ) Ill try to do the teriyaki sauce maybe tomorrow. ( I think that’s what fast food around me use)
