My brother was a Sheriff's deputy in Wyoming for 30 years. He then went to work as a State Parks law enforcement ranger for the state of Wyoming for 5 years. He said that he dealt with more criminal and crazy types in those 5 years than he did in the whole 30 years with the Sheriff's dept. Criminals and crazies like the parks.
@@katiesioux7757 There have been gang battles at Yosemite Nat Park. The last thing I want is huge crowds of people when I go to the mountains, I dont do National parks.
I know right? How about that crazy person with a Ford F-150 in New York that plowed into a parade last week and killed 3 or 4 people? Another crazy person with a truck I guess.
Thank you for the reporting. I find comfort in that other states will report on this just like other states have reported on the other horrible things that have happened in my state of Wyoming. Because of low population of Wyoming a lot of predators think they can get away with s***. Wyoming is he very dangerous state to live. °~•.☆.•~°
Here’s the thing, I’ve been there before (and in other parks) and I can’t legally carry my firearm into the federally owned buildings like the canyon market. Bro don’t care about the law, but if I had run into him in that building and he decided to go crazy, then I would have no way to defend myself! Gun free zones are absolutely and laughably absurd.
@@orion7741 No, federal buildings are off limits. Things like porta potties and gazebo’s don’t count, but stores, and visitor centers, and others that are federal property are most definitely illegal to carry into, and most I have seen have signage. The rest of the national park simply mirrors the carry laws of the state you are in, and you are correct you cannot discharge a weapon in the park (but I think you can in national forests, but I live in Texas and there is very very little federal land).
@@titopuente571 Glad you brought that up; it’s another great point. If I’m in a gun free zone, like a national park building, then I am defenseless and must rely on the cops (local PD, county sheriff, state police, or Feds) who for all I know may not even protect me……assuming they even arrive in time to help.
No, both usually result in the person running away from the pew pew, especially if they have family in tow. The fantasy that "good guy with a gun" is going to not only play hero but have instant situational awareness and an unimpeded shot to take out the perp rarely plays out in real life.
It appears local cops had plenty of info on this subject the day before to locate, detain, possibly even arrest him for crimes. Yellowstone is a big place but with only a few roads in and out. The nearby communities are likewise small. We aren't searching LA or Vegas here. Few reporters are following up on this info which is SOP. There are too many incidents that go very bad days and weeks after cops first get intell that there could be a problem. the incident in Maine is a classic example-with no follow-up on cop response. Maine's Governor and Senator are asking for more gun control though. As far as motive you can forget ever figuring that out now that he's DO, and even if taken alive you may never learn his motive. Motive isn't a requirement to arrest or a court conviction either incidentally. But you can learn what steps were put into place to find this guy before shots were ever fired, or not taken. Some brave reporter should ask what those were?
Why is it always people who have no law-enforcement experience that think they know law-enforcement better than officers? Law-enforcement the only job in the world where someone can tell them how to do it without any experience at all. Just because officers have Intel on some lunatic making threats, it doesn’t mean they can go and just arrest him. quite frankly, if you were the suspect, those same laws would apply to you, and you’d be very happy about that . They found him, they took care of the problem. And for you to say that the area is very small compared to a city, you go out in the woods and find somebody. I bet you couldn’t find me in a 30 acre woods, guaranteed.
Seriously?🙄😩 1) Neither political side has zero to do with anything discussed in this report. 2) both political sides are employees of the same bosses and all presidents are genetically related to each other. Selected, not "elected". Cultivated from birth.🙌🎓
Do you think a real witch was ever killed by rangers? You realize you pose a danger too? Expertly dangerous to my specie for 100s of years. What is your plan when you find a real evildoer?? One like me that curses your intent, hear, soul and all you love. Can I do that?
@@huntsimple9527 just keep playing the odds. its very unlikely your kid will ever be shot down in a mass shooting, but if it happens to someone else....."well, freedom ain't free." until of course it happens to someone close, THEN its a tragedy.
This is a tragic ending. The Florida man was struggling with his recent transition. Please don't forget he was a human too and mental illness is a struggle many are going through. Also Biden only has a stutter and he is a powerful and honest leader.
