I'm sorry I believe he actually came to teach us the way of the Lord and to tell us do not follow the evil one I believe he actually needed us to to follow the Lord and no one else and so he appointed the twelve disciples in order to show the world of his presence and the presence of god but their belief must be unfathomable so he needed the people to witness the divine presence of the Lord and so he needed to perform miracles all across the land but he is only one man and so I believe he actually needed the help from the disciples to spread miracles far and wide in a short amount of time but I don't believe he was trying to teach us all to perform divine miracles I believe that is from the devil wanting everyone to become a God it is certainly easier to rely on the power of the devil but that can only lead to suffering that said I see nothing wrong with praying to the Lord asking him to perform miracles and praying with authority I believe he would be proud but be sure not to believe it is your power alone because if a miracle is performed it is from the spirit of God inside of you all credit goes to the father Amen !!!

I also dont like that you arent showing the whole quote you are referring to it does say he appointed 72 others and sent them two by two ahead of them but in this line he simply says find a dwelling of peace and if they accept you heal the sick for the workers are worth thier wages but in these lines i see no miracles I believe he actually said tend to the sick as a nurse or a doctor would and he also refers to the miracle inside which i believe he was actually refering to the towns he had visited but it did say the 72 returned to him over joyed and said even the demons submit to us in your name so clearly there was use of authority in the lords name but I went to church alot when i was young how have i never heard of these 72 disciples but only 12 thats a little crazy to me
