Craig has a job, he's a vlogger. That's as legit as any other vlogger. I think its awesome that you've found a way to schedule purpose to his days in a way that is rich for Craig, and is informative and entertaining and that works for you as a family. And hopefully makes you all a little cash.
@@kmurphy739 Racketeering is fraudulent/dishonest activity. Everyone knows RU-vid is monetized, there's no dishonesty there. And I seriously doubt anyone will show up to break your thumbs if you don't buy a t-shirt. If they do, I'll apologize to you publicly on this forum. Craig has a disability, but I don't believe he's being exploited. He's clearly competent enough to be an involved and willing participant in these videos. You could try respecting his intellect enough to believe he is capable of making this decision. I bet anything this is going to allow the family to create a trust to provide a secure and richer life for Craig when, though hopefully not for many, many years, they can't care for him anymore.
We really need to give credit to Craig for giving a bedtime story a nice, quiet, balanced tone. I wasn't expecting the soothing curveball at the end of the video.
He instinctively knew to use a soft, soothing voice. It was wonderful hearing him read this book. Craig is very capable of so many things. Thank you Mom, Dad, Stephanie, Bennett and the cutie patootie nieces for loving Craig and each other unconditionally.
Craig has a job! He is very responsible in helping with the Ronald McDonald House thanks to you. He also has a second job which is entertaining his viewers. Whether it be cooking, "mail time", food reviews, or any of other various ventures, these are all "jobs" for Craig. Craig has a purpose and his purpose is to spread positivity through this channel.
yeah, I can relate to that my state if you have a disability everybody has to have equal opportunities for a job, but how can you do that if you have a disability or if you were never trained on how to be in the community and they’re trying to do away with the work places like that I understand it’s hard because when you want to find a job and you have a disability people don’t wanna give you a chance they just look at what you can’t do instead of what you can do I try to change peoples minds to to see what people can do you as your mom are you ask his mom know what’s best for Craig Ann and his family and I appreciate all you guys do. I think that’s awesome that he contribute to society and he does volunteer maybe in the future they will find something that he likes and that will be the right fit for him but right now volunteering is good and he likes what he does and he’s happy that’s all that matters. I’m in the process of looking for a job, so I’m happy and and it’s also hard when you don’t drive and you have to take a wait for somebody to so I also understand that too, and it’s hard to have patience sometimes because nothing ever goes as planned. I understand that I don’t have autism but I have a disability and I don’t like change either. It’s hard when things don’t go as planned I try to go with the flow but sometimes it doesn’t go that way. I hope you have a wonderful day you and your family keep up the good work Greg seems like a really nice young man and I love watching his videos and all his Disney movies and shows that he likes. I love that I’m going to see the little mermaid tomorrow can’t wait.
Hello from Ireland Craig and family, I was so excited to watch you bake some Irish soda bread, thank you for the shout out to your Irish fans and your rendition of an Irish jig! , we’re giving you and your family 2 thumbs up and an Irish seal of approval….
Nancy & Craig, You can count RU-vid for a job. You, Craig and Joe make video's, which we love. So you can add this to Craig's resume. Great video, going to make Irish Soda Bread this weekend. Take Care
Anyone else get home from work, and sit down and click on Craig ??? And I LOVE when you post these talk videos . Learning more about your family, parenting and Craig is awesome !
I wait tables and one place I worked we had a bus boy with high functioning autism. He was one of the coolest guys I’ve ever known. Getting to interact with him five days a week for over a year was a unique experience I won’t soon forget. He was an amazing worker and always raised everyone’s spirits. I find myself watching your videos a lot, it almost fills that void as I no longer work at that place and haven’t seen my little homie in a while
Isn’t it so unfortunate that the law supposed to bar against “discrimination” actually ended up causing Craig to be unable to work. Ugh…but you’re so supportive of him and RU-vid has been a nice opportunity for him. And he’s right about the stuffed toy being an axolotl! That’s so awesome he recognized that! 😊
Craig may not have a normal job, in the sense of the word. But coming up on 60k subscribers, I'd say he's a bona-fide youtube star! And of course a big thanks to everyone who's making that happen behind the scenes!
Good call on not trusting the job coach. I wouldn't be able to trust either. When you think about it , everyday life is somewhat a job for Craig. I think you guys are outstanding parents. What you guys do on here is educating for parents with autism children and I'm sure for you guys as well. Craig is becoming a star!
I also struggled with employment and college with my autism. Ive worked for eight yrs at fast food as just a front cashier but never at one place more than a year. Compared to my autistic dad who’s been a computer programmer for thirty years, Its not something I’m proud of. I believe though we’re all just as important as the other and a job shouldn’t determine our worth
Lindsey ..don't ever say you work as just a front cashier. That is one of the most important jobs! You are the only person the customer will probably deal with....if you are nice, professional, courteous....that customer will have a great experience...love your restaurant and tell their friends to eat there! You are the face of your restaurant! It is very important job and you are important to your employer! Whatever you do...do the best you can and you will always be a success! Everyone who works In a business matters!
I have a niece that has autism and she works at Walmart. She folds clothes and loves it. She takes the bus on her own and has someone watch her at work. She had a meltdown and was let go but thankfully the manager who fired her had no idea she was part of a program. Thank you for sharing these amazing stories about Craig. You all do such a great job sharing that I feel Craig is my nephew. God Bless and keep you all. ❤️
@@ourdailyview I appreciate the thank you but it’s not necessary as it’s the truth. I can feel the love through the videos you all have for each other and with life itself. I feel blessed to have found this channel as it brings me joy and shows us all good people still exist with family values.
I totally understand your experience with jobs. I’ve been a special educator for 15 years and I’ve seen mixed results with sheltered workshops and vocational rehabilitation. You truly need the right people and right setting to make it work.
Greetings from Norway. Currently being "bedridden" due to an accident (all will be fine) I´ve learned Craig and his family to know better. Amazing parents, I like mom a lot, but also Craigs dad, even tho he appears not as much, you can sense what a great model and impact he`s had on both Craigs brother and sister, and not at least Craig! Thank you, for letting me take a part of your journey.
Craig has a job ...he does you tube food reviews and does an excellent job! So many people make you tubes as source of income! He is so imaginative and smart...he should write children's books! He can be an entrepreneur! He certainly has a fan club!
I'd definitely buy a book with his illustrations and stories of his many adventures. Even if he made up stories, I'd try to be first in line to purchase it😅
@@warroom17 I totally agree with you! I was thinking he does such amazing voices, maybe he could do a bedtime story time you tube channel ...I would definitely give it two thumbs up, five stars, and the Ellen seal of approval. Actually his 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, Craig seal of approval would make great merch t shirts, magnets, tumblers etc
Craig does a great job of inspiration and entertaining people all over the world. That's something that not just anybody can do. It takes a very special, giving and loving person. Keep being cool you guys 😎
He brings a lot of joy to this crazy, mixed up world. Makes me miss my grandson who is autistic. A friend has an autistic granddaughter who gets through her meltdowns by swinging, sometimes for hours. She takes her iPod and tunes out the outside world. Just wanted to say how much these videos make me feel better, Craig is a star! Love you all. ❤
Too many cute, sweet moments to count but stand out for me, as always is, hearing Craig call you momma. Funny part was wanting MacDonald's, then suddenly it's a no from Craig. I have a brother who's just as honest! lol I also loved his call out to Ireland! lol His Irish jig had tones of the Highland Fling for me. lol And his cooking skills on point, with just a wee furtive look at momma for approval of how he's doing so endearing. And who couldn't enjoy finishing with a well read story time?
My daughter finally got a part-time job through vocational rehabilitation workforce and she has been there for over a year now , so happy for her, to be apart of society and not get lost. Love my daughter, will stick by her until the end. 😊 so I do understand because it wasn't easy when some around me was negative and hurting to what we were dealing with. Thanks
Hoping so so so hard my 26 year old son on the spectrum can get a job thru DORS soon. Working with them now. Psych testing in 2 weeks. My son DESERVES to work and contribute. Congrats on your success with your daughter. 💙
@@lynnmahan154 giving most success to your son. Hang in there and one road will lead to the next. Heart felt of your feelings wanting your son to be apart of society a feeling some don't understand but we are here with you!!! That day will come 😊
It always amazes me how Craig knows so many facts about shows and films! I even looked up the year the Power Puff Girls came out...1998!! He's amazing.
It’s quite difficult to have the appropriate scaffolding in place necessary to ensure ongoing success. Support is a never ending process. Congratulations on all Craig’s accomplishments so far. It takes a village 😊.
I feel so bad for this mama some times, she tries so hard but places just don't have the extra person to really help keep Craig going. Glad at least you learned he can rock some laundry! I really hope everything works out better and better
It's really really too bad there aren't more places like Jordyn's shirt shop (the Be Kind folks)!! I totally hear you about trusting a one-on-one with Craig, I'd feel the same. Craig is a superb worker; diligent and incredibly intelligent. I'm glad he has the volunteering and I'm glad they have Craig! :D
Thank you so much! We love Jordyn’s shirt shop! I have several of her shirts! I’m hoping that in the future there will be more places like Brueggers that are willing to give people on tha spectrum a chance. It sounds like your sister has a great place to work! ❤️
You’re one of the strongest mothers I’ve ever witnessed. I only hope to be half as resilient as you. I think you should do more with coloring and art with him. He’s highly influenced by the Disney Imagineer’s and I know he has a beautiful world in his imagination. I think we need to start Craig’s dry cleaners btw! That law made so sad. Now he has a RU-vid career bringing smiles and positivity in houses across the nation ❤
The only difference between volunteering and a "job" is the paycheck. Craig works hard at his job and is contributing to those who are experiencing difficult times in hospital. He's doing better than most of us. You are a superb mom and making great choices in difficult circumstances. Craig is a wonderful person and I'm sure you are very proud. The idea of working in a supermarket would not be good for him....people can be hard to deal with! I'd have a meltdown under those circumstances as well. LOL Keep up the great work! I have great respect for your loving family.
I love how Craig reads books and the expression he puts into it, I think he could have a job recording audio book reads and selling them!!! So his read time is an awesome addition to the vlogs! ❤
Craig volunteers doing laundry and looked like he loved it ..watch the videos give them a follow see what brother craig is up to regularly ..he has amazing parents loving sister. On everything my favorite content creator's that i actually follow and enjoy the most ❤
Craig is an awesome person and you are doing a great job as a mother. My older brother was just like Craig he was the best big brother ever. Craig reminds me of him so much God bless you and have great day❤
I really enjoy these long format videos. They are informative and helpful for me and others who have family members who are on the spectrum. My nephew is high functioning but still has his issues and these videos help me understand more about triggers and things like that, coping mechanisms.
I work for a family through the ARC for their adult son who’s 54, and I’ve been with him for over 10 years now. He reminds me exactly of Craig, same build, mannerisms and physical characteristics with autism. They would 💯 be mistaken as siblings 😊. It takes a lot of trust for a family to put that responsibility on someone, when there’s been a lot of others that didn’t measure up. He’s in a group home with other adult men, but will never live independently because of his special needs. His family treats me as apart of theirs and it’s a blessing all around ❤
I was diagnosed with what is formerly known as Aspergers when I was around 6, and didn't learn about it till I was around 13. Because of this, I experienced both the lower functioning and higher functioning sides of my Autism, and for a long time socialization and work wasn't easy. Id get stressed easily, would annoy people easily, and have severe issues when it came to staying focused (I often focused on what I wanted to learn instead of what was being taught to me). Since I started understanding more about how my brain works and my relationship with my Autism, I have a much clearer understanding of how my brain works and what upsets it, and similarly how to deal with that. Im very thankful for that now, because for a long time it all used to cause me so much stress because I didnt understand any of it. A standard job is something I still struggle with to this day, and something has always thrown a wrench in my plans if you will and triggered smth in me that I still struggle to deal with in my day to day life. I hope Craig doesn't feel any pressure regarding him having a job, because in my and many others minds, he does have one. He shows us its okay to be different and to have something like Autism, yet still bring joy and smiles to peoples lives everyday. I know how difficult it can be when your upset and you dont know why or what to do, but youve done an incredible job to this point raising Craig. Your videos make my day ❤.
Would Craig be able to talk about his Autism, how he feels and what he tries to do to relax? That would be a great YT Channel topic. Maybe knowing he would be helping others. Idk if he could but just wondering.
I have a brother with Aspergers/Autism. Craig reminds me a lot of him and originally from midwest, so enjoy your channel. My brother works as a Medical Records Specialist. His eye for details and need for specificity helps differentiate his ability here. I find some aspergers have unique abilities that can differentiate them, if they can find a right avenue that fits. Service oriented, can be difficult.
I was wondering in how far Craig can reflect on his "condition" or if he is aware of his limitations. Does he sometimes express regrets that he probably never can have a completely independent life, or have his own family, or what will happen to him should you one day (god forbid) not be arround anymore, or does he not concern himself with such serious topics. All the Best, I Love your videos!
In the part where Craig is adding the ingredients, he will usually wait for you to approve/disapprove of the amount in the cup before adding it. I wonder how he would respond if you said something like, "Well, what do _you_ think?"
I live in Michigan and there is a company in our capital city, Lansing. It's called Peckham and they specialize in creating all different types of jobs for people with mild to very, very severe disabilities. I do know that Peckham has expanded to other states... You may want to Google the name and you may find some options available to you there... Hope this helps!! Much love from Michigan ❤
Such a great idea. I think unfortunately, the laws in Iowa don’t allow for these types of places to exist. Which is sadly very discriminatory, even though the point was to avoid that.
I used to work at a mcdonalds in high school. Lovely lady there, who was a little mentally challenged, and worked in the back doing dishes. She loved it so much. I think Craig would make a very good dishwasher/janitor for a local fast food place. They're always hiring. The best part is that they are very accomodating and you can take all the time you need as long as the dishes are done!!!👍
When Craig gets finished reading the card and looks at the gift. After he’s finished momma asks, did you say thank you? He’s always able to say thank you and the persons name…I forget the names all the time 😂 Craig remembers all 🙏🏼
I think Greg has an incredible job on his RU-vid channel. Since we have discovered Craig we have fallen absolutely in love with him. He is the sweetest most loving young man ever!
You are an amazing beautiful women ❤ I can tell this is hard to discuss for you. Thank you for discussing this with us! Absolutely love your family and Craig, and hope to meet you some day.. My best friends 5yr old has autism and they and he is so special to me just like KRAIG ♡
He absolutely has a job and you do to RU-vid channel is hard work and takes a lot of time and patience♥️ Thank you for showing us your world 🌎 it’s truly is a blessing to have found craigs channel.
My brother is 43 years old, he's very low functioning, non-verbal. He definitely has never worked and never will. I think it's perfectly okay for them to not be working. My mom feels the same as you on trusting others. I'm pretty much the only other person besides herself that she trusts with his care. Being non-verbal he is definitely even more vulnerable. He's kept busy with all the things he loves to do at home, and outings with us, and I think that is just fine. Oh and yes we use a portal DVD player (or music) to keep him calm and occupied when things are stressing him out.
I love you sharing information at the beginning of the videos. You are a beautiful mama and I like the way you had your hair wavy in today's video it was very cute. Love you guys 💞
Craig is such a JOY. I know it is hard sometimes, but Believe me, it is that way in General. U luv watching u Guys. Such a Great and Compassionate Mom. Rock On!
Perhaps Craig could get a work at home job?? either assembling things, building and selling lego kits, maybe even writing/drawing and voucerecording original stories, or even neighborhood mowing or pet sitting, - but yeah you would have to be his job coach.
I've sincerely wondered how Craig handles and processes death? Like perhaps him losing a grandparent or other close person. It's a serious and painful topic, and I am respectfully curious.
I was going to agree with everyone else’s comments about Craig having a job. He’s a great vlogger! But then I heard Craig say “I’m doing great mama” and I couldn’t concentrate on anything else. The loving, sweet, most endearing way he says mama just melts my heart. It’s the highlight of my day. 😊
I can not believe they shut the workshops down. I worked for 7 years with guys with all kinds of diagnoses. Ky has a program with factories where their job maybe putting 1 thing in a box. That's a shame I knew a guy that did that for decades he loved waking up and going to work. You can tell Craig may have ruff times but you as a family are the best health mind and body he needs. It seems you do a phenomenal job with Craig and you should be proud of him, yourself, and your family as whole. I watch these cause I really miss my mom and dad. Thank you so much for what you all do. Tell Craig to just keep being Craig.
Who cares about a job! U guys have what is far more important than a job. A good, close family that does things together and loves one and other. Job... . Shmob. A Job is SO insignificant in the big picture. Too many people identify by their job or career. A job is a way to make $$ to survive. It doesnt define you as a person or define your life. U guys r doing it rite. Pay those others no mind. Love y'all!!
Absolutely LOVE YOU Guys!!! Craig is one of the most kind hearted gentlemen I've seen....!!!!! Craig Also Has A Great Narrative Voice!!!!!!! And The Food Reviews are OUT OF THIS WORLD AWESOME!!!!!!.ALSO THE NINJA TURTLES SHIRT CRAIG IS WEARING IS AWESOME...LOVE IT!!!!!💯💯💯🙏🙏👍👍🙌🙌🙌🙌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😁😁😁
Hello my name is Robert Watson. Me and my wife Suzy and my daughter Jordynn absolutely love your videos. Craig is awesome. I’ve worked with people with disabilities for almost 10 years and 1 particularly guy was a high functioning autistic person. It’s amazing seeing the similarities between him and Craig. You and Joe are amazing parents with very good hearts and a ton of patience. By the way. What is your name? Never caught it in any of the videos. Everyday we see a new Craig video we are happy in our hearts. He truly is a blessing from heaven. Watching daily from North east Indiana
Took me many years to teach my brother work skills and coping skills. Currently has worked at Lowes for 2 years now. Took a lot of patience, repeating things over and over, making sure employers knew he was Autistic. And so many other things.
