One of the sweetest love stories I've ever come across! It still shows throughout their family life to this day! I could never get tired of these stories! I lost my hubby of 23 years in 2020, these stories help pull out some comforting memories! If I'm having a bad day and or grief day, I come to this channel to smile! Thank you Nancy and Joe for this!! 💚🙏
Not in a rude way,but Autism content isn't something I normally or ever have consumed..but for the past few weeks I've greatly enjoyed your videos and find myself looking forward to the next upload of Craig! It's a great educated look into a world I'm not apart of! You have a great family and Craig truly is an absolute gem of a person! Keep at it and all the best from Canada
i don’t know how i missed this video, but hearing the official nancy and joe love story has absolutely made my week. his words about you are so beautiful. this should be a required watch for the younger generations. my heart is very happy ❤
I live in Kirksville! I watch your videos every day, and enjoy them a lot! I'm a Social Services Director for The Salvation Army, and I learn more about autism here so I can serve my clients even better! Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment! Keep on havin' a great day!
My oldest son has always been calm and easy-going. I only remember two melt downs. One was for Taco bell, I was distracted and got pulled over and he ratted me out to the police officer. I got a ticket. It's still an inside joke and we laugh about it now. The other was when his play station stopped working. I promised to replace it and did. As for swearing, never, and it is impossible for him to lie. Especially when we started going to church and he received Christ as his Savior. The one thing about my son and autism is his memory is super human. He has memorized the Bible and can quote it accurately. His math skills without a calculator were always advanced, I mean NASA Level computations. Craig's memory with movie stats and people who do voices for characters is amazing. Thank you for sharing your life and Craig with us. You are a very special family.
Good Morning Craig and Family. It's a great pleasure too see you guys I'm so happy about how much Love Craig gets from his fans God Bless you have a great day until the next time Family.
Everyone sends such cool gifts perfectly considerate of Craig and family. I loved scarfie, but my excitement and giddiness grew with every package opened!
So very sweet and wonderfully prayer filled for discerning your relationship...it is probably the big reason that your family and Craig especially, is thriving!! Thank you Joe for being a true gentleman, husband, and leader for the family😊 God Bless you all!!!😊❤😊❤😊
Y’all have such a sweet love story. No wonder you still seem so compatible! Being friends for years before getting married and having that strong bond and years of experiences together before kids sure does help a relationship!
I don’t have any kids or Autism , But it’s just nice to watch a humbled family ! Very appreciative for sure - Nice to see in such a crazy world now a days ❤
It is a lost art! Did you know most high school graduates can’t write in cursive and can barely print? I saw The Presley Girls do a video, I guess they are late 20’s. They showed how they can’t write in cursive. Even had to look at the chart on how a letter was formed.
Nancy and Joe, I so enjoyed hearing your precious love story! Now can we please see some pictures of dating and marriage? Loved your recipe and we are having baked chicken with potatoes and bacon for supper. Craig sure did get some great new shirts from his adoring public!
I loved hearing yours and Joe's love story. I married my best friend too. Joe is spot on it makes for a wonderful marriage and an awesome partnership. We like you can take on anything together ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My son is autistic and it scares me that he might act out on sexual urges the wrong way. I've heard horror stories from other parents, and I'm not ready for it. Let's just say they told me that the socks started missing one by one And ended up a crunchy mess strewn underneath the bed
So glad ya’ll liked them! 🤩 The shirts with correct spelling will be there soon. Sorry about that. I hope to see them in your Merch store so I can purchase a few! ☺️☮️💟
They are awesome shirts anyway! I smiled when I read them because I used to think Craig called himself Craigy until I read his name somewhere. The Craig E brought back that fun memory. 😊
Hi I'm a retired SPED teacher. For some of my students affected by Autism puberty wasn't really a big deal however with one student it certainly was. That student had always been aggressive but had settled down somewhat and life for everyone got better. At the time of his first puberty driven incident he was on the elementary side but was scheduled to move to the Jr. Hi. side the following year due to his age. In, May, he refused to leave the gym and his teacher went to take him back to the classroom. Well he decided he'd just pull her by her hair back to the classroom. This was very unexpected since he'd improved so much. I was his summer teacher and one day I decided to show him my classroom so it wouldn't be such a shock when he started back to school in Aug. Normally he would have visited my classroom in May but he was acting out so badly that didn't happen. During our walk to his new classroom he spotted the Jr. Hi. gym and off we went. By we, I mean, he ran dragging me along with him to the gym. The rest of the summer he beat me from time to time and his favorite target was my hair. When school began in Aug he continued to beat me. Puberty and the hormones that come with it are a bad combination. I don't care how good or bad a teacher you are, you can't win against puberty. Medication would have probably helped but to put it into mother's words "Jesus was going to heal him". When I asked how they handled the hair pulling the father stated I just let him "It only lasts about 30 mins" He beat his mother up the following summer and the next morning the parents had him at the doctor waiting on the doors to open. He was put on meds and she had a nice summer after that.
We do something similar on the grill. We cube potatoes and beef bacon, put them in a ziplock bag with spices, salt, avocado or EVOO and shake to coat everything, then put them in pockets of non stick aluminum foil, seal them up and put them on the grill for 45ish minutes. It’s a family favorite and pretty simple.
I know I always comment, but I seriously appreciate your channel. There is not enough out there pertaining to adults with autism, intellectual, or other developmental disabilities, mostly children. Just 2 weeks in to my job as an employment specialist and I can see the major need for advocates for adults. Also such a great topic to bring up, some of my clients have no interest in being in relationships, others are man crazy!! We have to remember to look at the individual always!
You and Joe are such a nice couple. It was so nice to hear your story. I also agree with you....you have to be able to be friends with the person you are married to 😊
Anyone who follows this (amazing) family, knows that Craig loves stuffed toys. I’ll be sending you one shortly. Random question. Can Craig please sing the “Number of the Day” song by elmo? It’s my sons favorite song, and we’d love to hear you sing it.
Nancy and Joe just have calm/chill personalities. It’s very endearing. And you guys have a knack for telling stories. I’ve said this in a previous video, I believe, but I love the intros now where you guys tell us a new story; I actually look forward to it. Not a request, but I hope we get an intro with Stephanie or Bennett one day just so we can get to know them more. And as always Craig is the man.
We used to live just outside of Joplin and then when my husband retired we wanted to live closer to our parents and other family that live in the Quad Cities/Moline, IL area. We didn't want to leave Missouri because the services are much better in Missouri than in Illinois so we moved to Kirksville. Love hearing your stories about your courtship! You are blessed to have each other and Craig!!! I also don't remember any issues involving puberty. But my son does "cuss like a sailor" when he gets really upset. We went to a church that had a vending machine when he was about 13 and his soda didn't come out and ate his coins. He used some colorful language that day and it was embarrassing at the time -- I have since learned to just laugh when things get crazy! Blessings!!
I also worked at Pizza Hut in High School in the 80's in Oklahoma. We also stayed open very late on weekends. It was a fun job as a teen. Joe I think pure romance and chivalry is a lost art in our youth today. Text messages. Snapchat and Cell phones have taken over with quick sometimes unintended words and feelings being expressed. Letter writing brings out ones true thought and meaning. Thank you so much for sharing.
I loved working at Pizza Hut! It was one of the few restaurants in Knoxville at that time and was a popular hangout after ballgames and events. I got to meet so many people and made great friends. Stephanie also worked at Pizza Hut in high school and loved it 😊 I agree I think letter writing was so much better than all the electronic messaging. Plus out letters are like a time capsule because they contain a lot of information about what was going on with our family and friends over the years 😊
Thanks for these video's! It's great hearing more about Craig's childhood and back stories. That's pretty common with autism most don't develop a sex drive. They're asexual in nature.
I use those types of sharpeners in the kitchen too, different name brand but same concept. I grew up using whet stones but those things are so much easier to use when you need it.
I’m here for Craig adventures, but I do love your segment with joe in the beginning. You remind me of my parents who are no longer with me. The thrift stores the lunches your home reminds me of great times in my own past.
Good afternoon!! Hello Craig & family!! Love your video thank you for sharing with all of us. Iowa has such wonderful friendly people there like you guys 😊
Me with autism, I had dropped the f bomb when I was in 7th grade. I was in a big line to get a snack from the vending machine. By the time I got to the machine, the bell rings to go to our next class. I was so angry that I threw a fit and out came the f bomb and the vice principal was trying to calm me down and gave me another chance. So I understand Craig and his frustration
I’m going to west Des Moines in August to visit some friends and will definitely have to try some of Craig’s favorite restaurants- that got 2 thumbs up - 5 stars and his seal of approval 😉 I will be there during Iowa State Fair and hopefully I will run into you all there - that would be awesome!
Aww those are some of the most perfect shirts for Craig! I love that people put thought and effort into your gifts to make them suited just for you. I love the bacon cheeseburger with no lettuce or tomato, Scarfy from his childhood story, and the Craig seal of approval. The bacon and potatoes looks delicious. I wanna make that! Did it get Craig's seal of approval? Oh no, he really thought the grimace shakes were k**ling people. Tiktok is crazy. I don't like it or have it. Take everything you hear online with a grain of salt, Craig! 😊💙
Craig is such a good cook, I bet you really enjoy being his helper. In the south, we cook a similar potato dish but call it smothered potatoes. We sometimes add onions to it and slow cook in a covered skillet. Just as unhealthy as your version 😂.
I feel like it could be the things that they are exposed too, we can protect them from certain things, by not allowing it. Or explain that just because you see it doesn't mean it's ok. I tried keeping my daughter from seeing and having her around certain things her. She did see things, unfortunately she had friends that were not protected from the evils of this world. Sometimes I did have to just tell her, I trust in you to do what's right. She's an adult now, so I explained it's not all open doors, what we choose is our decision and our consequence.
Good Afternoon, Love the additional story on how you guys met, than finally started dating. I think it's neat you guys wrote for a few years before you guys started actually dating. Love all the shirts Craig got. In memory of Red Scarfey was awesome. Love the Autism shirts for the family. Take Care
Nancy and Joe- I’m begging you… PLEASE write down your stories for your children!! My own husband Joe passed away a little over a year ago and our 14-year-old Autistic son Zach won’t know a lot of his Daddy’s stories. Please, please write these beautiful stories of your families’ beginning and love down!!! 💜
Perfect couple comes with perfect children… I am an 80’s child and I remember Penpal era, I missed it so much. The only things you can take with you when you die is memories, I can tell you 2 have a lots of good memories ❤
I like Joe, he is a cool dude!✌ Dont get Me wrong, I like the whole lot of them!🤗 ...So where do I sign up for an adoption into this family!?? .....😁 (The last part is a joke,...but..True!)
GREAT story. Please tell us how Joe proposed to you Nancy. Thank you, Dr. Kathleen S. Fortune. From Palo Alto, California Originally from born raised St. Louis Missouri. Also I have family in Des Moines Iowa the Jacobs.
We really enjoy your videos. Writing letters and Thank-you notes is really a lost art. And even a few months back we got an email to save the date for an upcoming wedding and that was somewhat ok, But really upset when we received the wedding invitation by email. I get prices and everything is inflated but you don't have to go to a stationary store anymore and look at those big books of invitations...with computers today you can make really nice ones on your own. Also, I was going to say adding onions to your fried potatoes would be good, we always do, but will have to try adding green peppers next time. Your matching t-shirts are great. Keep up the good work. Have a safe 4th of July
That's a great topic. My son is only 10 and he constantly has his hands in his underwear. His father and I have to tell him no too much. 😊 We know he's not being fresh. He's just exploring his body.
I loved your story so cute 💜 I was so excited my copy of the first Disney mickey shorts volume 1 arrived it wasn't available in the UK but I managed to find it sorry forgot to add I'm saying about my find after i saw Craig found volume two 💜✨️ hope u had a magical day
Speaking of puberty, Craig seems to have a pretty heavy beard, but is always freshly shaved. Does he shave himself? Do Joe or Nancy help? I just wondered, since these days so many guys sport stubble, but Craig stays sharp.
Love all you guys . What an incredible job mom and dad is doing. I watch some autistic channels but you guys are by far the most knowledgeable one out here. I want to make sure I am understanding right from wrong and the meltdowns and how to treat them when they do have one. Is Craig on a special diet.?? And does he have certain chores around the house that you keep him busy with.??
