It’s also the perfect to celebrate with friends, family and the community that supports you. That is why I will be singing “We Are What We Are” which is the opening number for La Cage Aux Folles. This number serves two functions: to introduce the audience to the world of the show and introduce the stars of the Saint Tropez nightclub. The melody is later when Albin sings “I Am What I am” when he expresses his sadness of being unwanted. Opening numbers do a lot to get the audience pumped up and this is the perfect example . Don’t worry, going to be revisiting the show later in the week. But remember, be yourself and give to others because the best of times is now. I do not own the rights and music to the song.
