OMG! Ma'am at the end you expressed exactly what I was thinking. I just found this channel and im very greatfull thank you for your work on helping others like me who feel lost in this, now my new world of Autism.
As a child of the '80s, I was never diagnosed with autism. But I suspect I'm somewhere on the spectrum. Though I lack some of the common aspects such as sensitivity and sensory overload. I do have the information overload, though. I can obsessively dig into research to the point I get overwhelmed. I don't generally have problems with everyday interactions. And I can hold down a job. Still, part of this is because I'm high functioning in having learned to compensate. About 'genius', I'd never describe myself that way. My divergent thinking is extremely unique. I can see things in the way even most highly educated people can't. And I am high IQ in terms of fluid intelligence. It's just that genius is a label I'd use more restrictively.
