Not really an Aspie thing, but I use text-to-speech on my iPhone because I'm bilingual (but also autistic) and still have yet to learn how to read in my native language (Japanese). So far it's mind-blowingly useful! It's just what I needed! Most people use Google Translate but machine translators tend to not sit well with me since I already know how to speak it.
I just got back from the hospital, my son has Autism, the doctor said to me that my son will be like this for the rest of his live so we have to get used to it. 😢 My son is 10 years old and all I need him to do is to depend on himself specially in feeding himself & personal care & cleanliness. Seeing you gave me a great hope. God bless you. Btw; the doctor told me to take the iPad away from my son 🤔
The highlight and look up feature is something I use a lot when I write in English to get the words spelled correctly. Helps me refreshing my English. I’m from Norway.
I also would like to see what you do before recording.. kinda like behind the scenes coz I’m always fascinated about people’s real life and if I can relate to them.. I like seeing bloopers or things that make the youtuber or person more relatable..
What is that? Sounds like something I have. People scare me not in the physical way. But like an emotional way. I'm scared I might offend people. Or they won't understand me. Or they will use my kindness against me. So it's easier all together to try and avoid people with headphones or a phone.
Thank you for the tips...Just digging into helpful tools for my 19-year-old Aspie with some processing issues. Would love more accessibility tips and tricks! Thank you!
I do the invert colors at, you got to let them know that you can do quick access by double clicking the home button and on the newer ones without the home button it is the button on the right side (still double click)
Hey Dan, there's another simple gesture in iOS to have your device speak any text on screen. Using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen. It will begin to read any text, as well as present options for you to adjust the reading speed, play/pause etc. No need to select the text first.

For those who cant afford an ipad. there are decent android and windows tabs that can do most of this. (I have a Surface, refurbished lol.. ).. I use it at work in the beginning and end of day and sometimes in the middle to keep my anxiety a little less.
Nuances dragon speak naturally helped me during college its a text to speak applications that learns how the user speaks and better understands how to type for thwm
Lilith Lucien I think you’re referring to Screen Recording - not sure if its available on iPad (I checked and couldn’t find it) but it is possible on iPhone so there may be an app you can download that will do the same
WHAAAAAT I DIDNT KLNOW THERE WAS DARK MODE???? i use it on all apps that provide it bc its hard to read black font on such a bright consuming background
Hashy Murphy sure they’re just settings but still helpful. I’m pretty tech-savvy but don’t have the headspace or ability to articulate my needs that well currently - when someone makes a video like this it saves me a lot of time searching through various settings (when they often have names that make no sense to me) to figure out what makes life easier, so in that respect these tips are ‘hacks’ - not everyone is aware of what their device can do for them
I would never buy a product from a company that has repeatedly dropped the ball on disability access since they started out. I boycott Apple as a result. So this video is useless to any of us that don't buy their products.
