So while according to the ATF, It is illegal to manufacture a lightening link without the proper license or approval based on their interpretation of the law (neglecting the 2nd Amendment). A metal etching is not a machine gun because it cannot be used to make a gun fire more than one round by a single function of the trigger. I bought an autokeycard to support the company, but when I wanted a lightening link for my AR-15, I spent a lot of money to purchase a properly registered lightening link which was transferred to me on a form 4.

It also raises the difficulty in buying a firearm over the counter. ( Granted someone will always be willing to sell illegal stuff. )

@@thesmallestminorityisthein4045 if a cops doesn't have probable cause, they'll manufacturer it. Police try to get judges rubber stamp warrant's ALL day. Larger city's it's harder for police to do it. But for the most part, judges in my area aren't the "activist" type. It's the police you have to worry about. That way the first shot forms the curve in the upright to follow the carrier. If you have a hacksaw, files, a drill to start the slots, and almost any off the shelf ar that's about 10-15 minutes worth of work. The only ones that wouldn't work are colt lowers with the rear tray not milled already or they don't have m16 carriers and that's not common these days after everyone realized the mass is too low to cycle reliably with the ar15 profile without gas and spring tuning. Even then you can do it but i probably shouldn't be documenting that online.. With the way things are i really don't want to somehow jeopardize my firearms degree, lose my ffl, and ruin my chance at getting my sot approved. With how this and other events going on I'd probably get charged with intent to arm the public with machine guns if i didn't even give dimensions to the piece that is needed to be made to interface the carrier with the link😂
