It's probably the most important valve in a late model transmission -- the solenoid regulator valve. It supplies the solenoids (which control the clutches) the proper amount of pressure to do their job. In most transmissions, the computer doesn't have a way to verify the proper operation and pressure of the solenoid regulator valve, so the builder must make sure this oil circuit is in good shape. In this video, I cover what the solenoid regulator valve does, I explain how it works and I give a couple examples, then I show how to inspect the regulator oil circuits, and lastly I show some solutions to fixing solenoid regulator issues.
