I know this video is year old but i just wated to add my 2 cents to this. I have the Auto-vox w2 with my 2006 f150 lariat. I ended up installing this camera a little differently than most folk would. The 4 prong plugs for trailers is actually left signal, right signal, tail markers and a groumd. So with that i added a 4 prong to the camera's wiring harness and soldered it to the ground and tail light terminal so when i want to use it i just plug it into the traier plug i ended up super gluing a couple neodymium magnets to the bracket on the camera so its become a mag mount camera. This allows my to stick it to my tailgate and point it right at my hitch for backing up to trailers. But it also allowsy to stick it to the back of my camper which is a 26 foot travel trailer and connect it to the 4 prong plug at the back of the camper thats there to plug the boat trailer into. The total distance between my camera and my monitor it 42 feet and it is still a crystal clear image with maby a couple milliseconds of delay from the camera. All in all, i love it. And i love the fact that i made it into a magnetic mount so it can serve a dual purpose :)
Love your down to earth videos! I have a 2004 Ford Sport Trac that I have been looking for a backup camera looks like you found the one for me. I saw you video on the Mercedes backup camera & am waiting for the f

I bought one of the M1W based on your previous video (Worlds Easiest WIRELESS Backup Camera to Install (Auto-Vox M1W) ) and it's worked perfect since day one. What would I be using the W2 model for? I go to work at 3:30am when it's pitch black outside. The three lane road I drive on can be quite busy at that time and changing lanes is a dicey experience. I have to turn my head to check the back right because of a bad blind spot. This looks like it would be an incredible safety upgrade.
Was there a winner chosen for the Autovox X1 yet? I like their other lineup that has the monitor on the mirror so it's a cleaner / less cluttered look.
I drive a 2010 C300 4matic sport pre facelift. I was looking to install a back up camera and I’m getting mixed information from Mercedes and online on what I need to get a camera to work with my head unit...software upgrade...integration kit...the list goes on and on. I’ve gone into the head units set up mode and I don’t even have the option to activate a back up camera. Thoughts? Love the vids!!!
Raymond Urias Thanks Raymond. I think we will try the W2 then. I’m hoping I can install it myself. The X2 seems great but it seems complicated to install so I’d probably have to hire a professional which could double the cost of the device. Thus it could be 4x more in total for something where we really only need to check if there is an object or child behind our car. If the W2 can do that, that’s all we need. I think if we discover we really like such a camera and feel we eventually need a higher quality camera in 2-3 years the quality is just going to go up and we can upgrade them. Who knows maybe in 3 years there will be a wireless version as good or better than the X2 at a lower price. One neg I hear about the X2 is the rear camera isn’t as good as the front camera. I’d like it the reverse. The rear camera super wide and high quality and front good enough for recording. Thanks for your help. It’s allowed me to make my decision to buy the W2.
@@RaymondUrias and in your opinion which is the best between the T2 (you also reviewed) and the W2?. I noticed they have the same amount of wires but the W2 also needs to connect the monitor to the cigarette lighter. In relation to camera image quality in day and night, which is better?. Does the W2 possess any camera LEDs like the T2, which has 6 led integrated?. Thanks 👍😉
