Germany is known for Autobahn! There is no general speed limit for their highways. Sounds wild? It is, and some are arguing it is too wild. Not only because it is dangerous but because it is not good for environment. What do you think?

Most cars can't even get up to the top speed on the speedometer. The speedometer is just laid out so the most common highway driving speeds, like 100 km/hr through 120 km/hr, show up at the top of the dial. This ends up putting unrealistic speeds like 250 km/hr at the far end of the speedometer dial, where they exist as speeds the speedometer could measure in theory, but your car may not even have the capability of getting to that speed.

First of all, accidents which happen with less speed are obviously going to be less lethal and dangerous, not to mention slower speed would give drivers a longer reaction time. Just because the numbers on 100 km/h roads are bigger than in the Autobahn (which you likely are getting at here), does not mean if we enforce a speed limit on the Autobahn, lethal accidents wouldnt decrease. There are different causes for the differences in statistics, such as varying studies taken under different circumstances, and the corrolation here likely is not the speed limit. It could be: Roads off the Autobahn have less quality since there is less maintenance, tighter curves, nature endangering (animals crossing the road, trees above instead of far on the side drop branches). To blame it all on speed, which logically reduces the fatality of accidents by decreasing, is simply nonsense.
