Thanks for the video Brandon. I have used ACAD for over 15 years, but have never had to create a new dwg from scratch. I only modify existing plans for my work. You're tutorial really helped me to finally understand this.
Hi Brandon. How do you setup a layout with more than one view and that each view may have different layers on/off? Thank you for your instructional videos!
Please mention in which autocad version you have creating layout , coz autocad normal versions don't have the legend , grid , north symbol and scale options . You are created with AutoCAD civil 3d ,and thank you for the good tutorial
Thanks for watching and glad it helped! Many of the Civil 3d options are now available with AutoCAD subscriptions, try adding the Map toolset to see them.
Hello Brandon. THAAAANNKKSSS A LOTTT for all of those tutorials! :D I have a question, How can I set a graphic scale (ZOOM SCALE) in a specific viewport when I'm using INCHES and FEET in the drawing? Thank you in advance. From Bogota (Colombia) Enrique Simmonds.
afternoon prof..?? i really dont understand the basics of AUTOCAD and i want to kindly ask if its not possible for us to connect online so that you can maybe teach me??? hopefully to hear from you soon.
Hello Sir Can i know why it is important to come up with an important messange in creating layout? It is to sketch my works? Decide my tittle? To aim for balance? Or to know my theme?
Hi Brandon. Could you please discuss how to properly set the scale in the page setup manager dialog box? I am trying to learn the basics so I created my own title block using a using dynamic block, put in the layout space, and saved as template in different paper sizes in 1 inch = 1 unit scale. However, when I tried inserting the templates in my new drawing, the blocks became either too big or too small for the paper sizes. I guessed the problem is with the scaling. I mean, they should appear like how I saved them but they did not. I am hoping you can create a video explaining the whole concept as I might have missed some or a lot of important things. Thanks heaps.
Hey there, I am working on this project in AutoCad 2016 and I made two layouts, one is Plan and another one is Elevation. Paper size is 11'x17''. I need to lock the scale to 1'=1' for Plan view while the elevation need to be set at 1/2"=1'. The plan layout just worked perfectly according to the scale but now I am getting a problem with the layout having elevation view, the 1/2'=1' is saying 4.17% which is really small. What am I missing? Could you please help. Thank you
thanks for the video. how do you fix a scale for the object you brought in ? and is it possible to bring in different objects of different scales ? like a master plan in one scale and its details in another scale , but both on the same sheet.
Hey, thanks for watching, glad it helped! Good question, I actually have a couple videos that go into that. heres a more recent one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y6NiPZk56Kk.html
The general purpose of Layouts/paper space is to setup your sheets or drawings independant of the model space. This allows you to keep your drawing/model to actual scale while also letting you set a view or sheet to any scale. This lets us have multiple views of the same area at different scales on the same drawing. Also, having the separate layout for a drawing lets you create multiple sheets within a single drawing file each with their own unique notes, labels, title blocks, scales and orientations. In modern drafting software it is pretty uncommon to only use a model or working space, almost all detailed drawing production will be done with layouts/paperspaces. Thank you so much for watching and for the questions! Hopefully that helps Cheers, Brandon
Hey Brandon. Super great video. Big fan of your channel. I do have a question. On my work computer, when I click on the layout tab, my entire screen is black. But on my laptop, my screen is only black where my “paper” is. How do I display the tonite screen to be black?
one more question , in each layout we just have one sheet ? is it possible in each layout we have then sheets? what we should do for layout if our drawing has a lot of detail and we need more than on sheet to put them in?
Hey, Thank you so much for the comment! I actually just recorded a video answering a question about how to show more detail on sheets. I'll be posting it to the channel tonigh or tomorrow so check back then and let me know if it helped for your question. Cheers! Brandon
Thanks for the upload. I am having some trouble with the sounds very muddy. My system seems just find as i was just playing music thru YT while i opened your video and music continued to play just fine, then I paused it to listen to your lecture and it's so marbled it sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher Wha Whaaaa Wa WaaaaWhaaa. scrolling thru comments to see if i am not the only one. Can't really get much from this without being able to follow your vocal direction. Maybe something needs to be adjusted on my end. Will check further. It must be some sort of sound channel re-direct, it seems to be directed almost entirely to my base speaker on the 5.1 sound system I have connected but it's not translating to the regular speakers very well. Anyways it must be something on my end and the way its separating the signals. I have some other ideas to try and fix for your video.. Never had any issues with others but who knows. No one else seems to have mentioned anything about the sound so it has to be on my end. Carry On...LOL..... I really am grateful for your time however. I have not yet been able to follow along but the comments all give you very high remarks so I am anticipating it will be helpfull
I wanted to practice what you said in this video in my auto cad but i don't know what's happened to my auto cad that every time I want to open a file or search for templete to import it auto cad doesn't let me to browse it and asks me the address and every time I give the address it says "cannot find the specified file please verified that the file exist" it's kind of difficult I want to browse the file thank you
Hi , After placing the item from model space to the view port, how do you save the file to make is sendable? do you just do save as and it gets sent like this? How do i verify its correct?
hey...i need help...when i insert my A3 size tile block in layout it don't come in size its small in size as compare to layout which i have set.....& when i measure my layout of A3 its bigger in size.
You can change your layout size by right clicking on the layout and selecting "Page Setup Manager' then from the manager you can choose the layout and click 'modify' and change the layout size in there to which ever size you need. When done just hit Ok and when you get back to your layout it will be set to the new size.
I'm using Autocad 2017, sometimes my drawing its not showing in paper space but when i print or make a pdf showing the drawing, i region but its not showing, can you help me do i need use some kind of command
I have a video that shows how to setup multiple views for details and multiple areas of interest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y6NiPZk56Kk.html
Hey, thanks for the questions! Yep, I think I was using 2014 still in this video. Most work flows and processes in autocad all work the same through out the last 5+ releases. Many of the changes are minor feature additions and upgrades and wont affect how you do things like make new layouts or views etc.. Just let me know if you had any other questions or a request for a future video topic! Cheers
