Been doing CAD a long time. STILL found things I didn't know in this. Great video. Thanks. Toggle Override Highlight. "Turns on or off the background highlighting for layer property overrides. By default, the background highlighting is turned off. Settings. Displays the Layer Settings dialog box, where you can set various display options." (per AutoDesk). Good luck with that. Ha! Have never used that either...I just go to the layer settings directly. Thanks again!

In your other videos I like the topic _Layer state in viewports _ xref layering _matching by layers instead of properties which is top notch. _UCS topic also was very well explain. _ xref attachment scale also was good _xref relative path over full path _ line weight overwrite/global width _layer groups _viewport freezing layers. _viewport object ,or polygonal _layer settings "xref payer settings" which is tricky. And good well explained Everything was very easy to understand. Looking forward for more tutorial especially on command that is unfamiliar for some cad user. 💯🤝

Great video, is there an easy way to import a whole layer listing from another drawing?
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource Год назад
Yes, there are few ways. I personally use the -insert command and insert an empty drawing that has my layers set up. There are other ways to do it, one is using the Design centre.

hi there. Very informative. I have a question for you. We you solid hatch, i now that you can change the shade density when viewing it on the screen, but how do you transfer that to look the same when you plot the drawing? Thank you
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource Год назад
Do you mean the transparency? If so when you print there is the checkbox ✅ plot transparency. Hope this helps
@andrevasconcelosau-pera6211

Thanks for the video. Do you know if there is any way to give to a layer a specific draw order in the drawing? Example. I would like that some layers with hatches would always be in the back wile other layers with furniture would always be in the front. Tx
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource 2 года назад
Not sure about all the objects I one layer can be send to back. But I know you can type a command that would do this for you docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2011/ENU/filesACR/WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-4fa9.htm

@@CivilTechSource Thx I'm almost 100% convinced that such a thing doesn't exist. Unfortunatly.
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource 2 года назад
Maybe you can post it in autodesk suggestions forum. Maybe we will see it in the future. The other way I can think of is lisp, so if you have always the same layers that need to go to the back then you can create a lisp to do this (isolate the layer you want select all, then send to back).

@10:45 did you understand what yourself said? I got so confused when you talked about ctb and global width.
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource 4 месяца назад
It is easier to explain while showing rather than speaking, will try again in a different video. But basically CTB controls the printing settings meaning it can control how thick a line is based on the color it has, so if you have a global width of 0.5 and its color Yellow and the CTB settings says that any lines color Yellow will be printed in thickness 2 then it will be printed as 2.

Hi my pc is an old spec, see below: Intel Core i7 6700K Processor Ram 32GB DDR4 2400mhz GTX1050ti but swapped to RTX3050 now. It appears your i9 2.4ghz might be the issue. 2.4ghz is low maybe go for something higher like 4ghz?

Oh that is the properties panel, just type properties on the command line and when you select a polyline you can see it. I also docked and hit hide the properties panel. So it will appear only when I hover my mouse to the right
