I'm curious how this would interact with the drag and deadly reentry mod, not sure if it would control its speed enough to survive re-entry or if the drag would affect its take off.

This is ART! Beautiful ship, station, video, artisticness, music and editing (camera shake looked awesome) - one more sub for you! Only thing I would say is the launchpad should have a hole in the middle so it doesn't get burned (unless you do a broken down block and go for the particle effects to add to the look of launch). Also, a wheeled vehicle or a drone that can pick up the booster module and place it on the pad would be an amazing too! The booster can be used for any modules (like a defence satellite or further comms or a refueling station etc)

Yeah OPs design is pretty impressive. I downloaded Space Engineers on XboxOne and glad there’s a mod shop to acquire cool blueprints from talented people of the space engineers community have created. I should invest in a PC I’m sure I would get a better experience out of this game if I did.

Your videos are great! Style, design, concept, the way you present the builds, all of these make your work shine in style. I really like the "commercial advertising" theme and the formal way of presenting the builds. You should keep making videos like this. Ignore the low number of subscribers and viewers, keep your work on track and the results should skyrocket (although the SE community is quite small on RU-vid). Your videos are inspiring and I (or possibly even more SE community members like me) am looking forward seeing other posts like this.

I think a feature for MK II could be a movement phase where it moves to a specific GPS coordinate. An option could be for it to the orientate towards another GPS point when it finishes it's relocation. Another optional feature of this deployment relocation could be gravity well avoidance.

For the landing of the booster on low G environments. I saw awhile on the workshop a Suicide Burn script. Basically where the booster, module, or what you want burns at full throttle last second to both conserve fuel and land. Might be useful for moon landings.

I'm new to space engineers. How do orbital mechanics work in this game? Do you need to achieve a periapsis above the atmosphere and calculate required deltaV or just get high enough and set zero speed?

Insanely well made satellite and video. But... what use is a satellite? Can it extent the range of my antennas or anything?
@atom2874
@atom2874 5 лет назад
It is mainly designed to extend antenna coverage and serve as an orbital survey
@Omlet221

They have an antenna and laser antenna. You could probably string them together with the laser antenna and then you have a network of satellites to cover a whole planet.

@atom2874
@atom2874 4 года назад
hi my friend!, the omnicam is controlled by 2 rotors which controls the pitch and the yaw axis on the camera, those controls can be accesed on the second toolbar in the main remote control block, there are 4 basic controls, 1 to toggle block rotation on pitch, 1 to reverse mode, 1 to toggle block rotation on yaw and 1 to reverse mode.

@StarKnight619
@StarKnight619 4 года назад
@@connergreen3178 ok so normal Antenna range is 50,000 meters max. You can control drones and various other things, but as soon as you leave that broadcast range it cuts outs. (Ex - driving or flying a remote drone around then you leave the broadcast range, you no longer can control it) This satellite allows you to have a larger or more remote broadcast range because of the laser antenna on it (which Keen has now made it so it has infinite range but the power requirements increases dramatically) So another example is launching this satellite connecting to it via Laser Antenna while its in orbit and being able to control your remote drone(s) on a nearby moon thats within the Broadcast range. TL;DR It acts like one of those Wi-Fi extenders for your house

Nice job! =D My boys and I are just learning the game. We got off of the Earth like planet...made a cool moon base...found platinum and did asteroid exploration...finally found uranium. So we just built our first reactor for our second generation ship. The uranium asteroid seems to be heavily guarded by pirate drones. So I am trying to design a stationary weapon platform which I can launch like a drone / satelight and then leave in position next to the uranium. With heavy armor. Lots of charge on a big battery or two and of course a bunch of turrets. Something to knock down the pirate drones that seem to spawn in shortly after my lightly armed miner arrives. I don't want to waste time and materials on a fully blown ship to go mining uranium. My little mining ship does a good job as long as it doesn't get attacked by multiple pirate drones. Anyway having fun learning how the different pieces and parts of the game work and interact.
