Steps carryout included;
- Identifying estimated water needs
- Carrying out the hydrogeological survey to determine best drilling point using dowsing and resistivity method
- Drilling with 8' and casing up to the bottom
- 24 hours pump testing
- Fabrication of the tank tower, assembly, and installation of solar panels
- Construction of the tap stands, pump protection unit, and manhole
- Installation of the solar pump and accessories after trenching
- Testing the system.

Drilling and casing method selection;
1. Nature of the formations(from hydrogeological survey information), open hole where basement rock is encountered*, full casing - no basement rock is encountered, minimize possibilities of siltation, minimize chances of rock weathering hence increasing pump service life and water quality,
2. Casing diameter (5 inches is usually used), where high yielding well (more than 14,000 litres per hour*, other factors should be considered like total dynamic head) is expected, 6" can be used, in few cases for boreholes serving villages , more than 8 inches can be used.
Solar pump selection considerations;
1. Well characteristics (Yield and heads(static and dynamic))
2. Volume of water to be pumped and Total head including dynamic head, static head,
3. A hybrid pump(AC and DC) may be selected if extended pumping beyond sun hours is expected
4. Pump voltage versus distance and cost of wire.
5. Water quality whether a helical rotor, plastic impeller or stainless steel impeller s are selected
Tank size selection considerations;
1. Pumping system capacity
2. Planned water usage per unit time
3. Planned water usage patterns.
4. Whether the pump is hybrid and AC power is available
Tank tower height considerations;
1. Pressure required at the collection point
2. Security
Tap and pipe size selection
1. Collection time(3/4" is our standard)/flow per unit time
