Automatic Transmission Filter Replacement Honda Accord 2003-2007 3.0L V6 

didn't know I had already watched this 3 months ago!? WOW. I was going thru some back pain issues so maybe too many drugs were affecting my brain:) - anyway, didn't look like much fun to do this filter change. I will ask my mechanic how much he would charge or if i even need to do it. I do need a fluid change though. thanks again.

The 2.4L has double overhead cams (DOHC). The 3.0L has single overhead cams (SOHC).

well, i believe your made this look much more difficult than it should have been. Maybe your hands are too big? Also, half the video we couldn't hear what you were saying because you were shorting out the audio portions from time to time?? Always make sure your connection is good. Hope it all worked out and you didn't have any problems with leaks or other things?? Thanks for your attempt to show us. I am going to get and estimate from shop to see if this is worth DIY?

I have a 97 prelude that just doesn’t shift right it’s a auto but if I’m accelerating it’s kinda late going into the next gear and the rpms raise then it decides to shift I had my friend tell me check the trans filter

Good job but I would like to know how to change the filter inside the transmission. There are two filters on this transmission.

Should have known by now most cars don't use steel washer but aluminum or copper to seal things like this including engine and transmission drain plugs.

I have the exact same V6 Accord but mine is 2005. I should have the same filter you replaced underneath my airbox as well then? How about replacing the internal filter by dropping the trans pan, have you done that. I'm trying to do a thorough job on my transmission since it slipped on me for the first time trying to pass a car going from 60 to 90, the RPM got stuck at 5000, to say the least it scared the shit out of me. Hasnt done it again but it's a definite sign that the fluid needs to be completely replaced with both filters, the one you show and the one above the transmission pan. I'm thinking of going with Amsoil synthetic DW1

Is the filter housing under the car or in the engine bay somewhere? How much is the kit? Frustrating trying to follow this video..would be nice if you zoom out a bit to show the general area where things are. This video is terrible at best. The image quality is low and the audio is bad. He spent most of the time talking to himself! It should be less than 1/2 the time from start to finish and it dragged on for 38mins. He does not seem to have good hand dexterity for a mechanic, sorry. It took twice as long as it should for him to take the filter out and put the new one back in. This video did show that the AT filter in this car does not really need to be replaced as the AT was properly maintained in its life time. Honda does not have this filter as a maintenance item for the car, assuming that it is properly serviced during its life. On some other videos, the AT filter was dirty and disintegrated, probably overheated from neglect by the owners. And, yes, all the crush washers are aluminum, you can't have a steel washer if you really want to seal the fluid. It is better than some other video of people showing the filter replacement process after it is done but this could have been a lot better with some editing and voice over. One thing is good that whoever sold him the kit, it has all the right parts so he could complete the AT filter change without having to run to the dealer to get any additional parts. Most of these parts are not in stock at the dealer, so it would be bad if he had to wait another day for the one missing part. People doesn't need to know part numbers though, I am sure they can get the same kit from Honda or a Honda dealer would be more than happy to provide them.
