No this should be replaced as you can see in the video it’s broken in pieces... Also make sure you buy OEM Honda part-buy filter at the dealer or online just have the part number). Because I purchased one at a local auto parts and it was slightly bigger than the original one

@@RookieRepairs I spoke to a filter engineer and he said that it's a cellulose filter, meaning paper, and it cannot possibly last many years submerged in oil. It has to eventually fall apart even if it's excellent quality. They must be replaced periodically.

It's always best to replace the aluminum washers on either side of the banjo bolt since they're designed to deform in order ensure a complete seal. They're inexpensive. The crumbling old filter was certainly disturbing!

I did this replacement myself on my Honda. The filter kit that I bought off ebay came with 2 large O-rings and a small gasket that goes on the center of the filter. One of the large O rings goes on the door/lid of the filter housing. Does anyone know what the other O-ring is for I didn't end up using it. But was just curious where it goes?

Spray some WD-40 or Freeze-Off (CRC) - try moving at different angles - I hope this helps. Due to the tight spot only wrenches will fit-lefty to loosen. Best of luck

@@RookieRepairs Not a flush bro. A fluid change. A flush can lead to transmission problems especially if there is already a lot of wear on the clutches. A change only removes some of the fluid and replaces it. Mixing new fluid with old so that doesn't happen.
@RookieRepairs
@RookieRepairs 3 года назад
@Vicente Yes you are right but if the car has been maintained it shouldn’t be a problem to flush/ change your transmission fluid. On my car it was not maintained at all (from previous owner)-I did another flush 2-3 weeks after and transmission fluid was still dirty so I did a last one 3 weeks later and fluid was in much better condition. I also cleaned all solenoids and shifting was much better... Here’s a video where I did my first flush: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-njpEED6OVW0.html

Hopefully your transmission is not broken- Drive it for one week and do another transmission fluid flush - I included the link in the description for the fluid. You might want to do 3-4 flushes until you see the improvement on your car ( I believe this is better than doing the power flush because you’re removing the transmission fluid little by little and cleaning/ clearing the system).
