Learn in this video how the Park Assist helps you to automatically leave a parking spot. The Park Assist does not only automatically park you in the parking spot, it gets you out as well.

Press the Park Assistant button or engage reverse gear to switch on the Park Assistant menu. Activate the Park Assist in the top right corner and confirm the required direction for leaving in the Control Display. During the manoeuvre, please keep an eye on the surroundings and let your BMW do the rest. In case of any danger intervene by braking or steering.

Even I am from third world country, our traffic police don't allow us to even drive automatic transmission car for purpose of taking driving test, let alone with cars that equipped with fancy assistance tech. @@iconic439 Parallel parking is the easiest thing in the world lol. Look in the mirror that's on the same side as the spot you want to park into, and use the rear end of the car to "aim" with. It can't get any easier than that.

Got a G31 from 2017, love the self-parking functions (parallell and perpendicular) when it works. BUT the system sometimes is too slow to pick up a free parking spot, sometimes you have to drive past it too far before the system indicates it. So if someone's behind you in traffic they're either taking it themselves or blocking you and the car says something like "Risk for collision" and won't assist in parking.

The facelift models 5/7 series have the upgraded version which works flawless, at least the European versions. I have a 730xd 2020 and is perfect

the SAS module in the eariler g11/g30 are a little slower to calculate. Cars produced later have faster processors. latest modules are as quick as a driver.

The best part is, most of the time (other than when the engine is running hot) it's closed. So basically 70% of the time it's a huge piece of plastic doing absolutely nothing. Looks way out of place on the car. Every other aspect is beautiful though.
