hugh jass I brought mine at a speed shop. They had it in stock, you may have to order it.

You only have to buy a handheld tach to calibrate the alternator. If you have the kind of diesel engine that needs this sort of set up you should already have one to set idle speed. They're $20 on Amazon.

You don't need obdII. They're just showing the OBD reading to show how the handheld tach is used to calibrate the gauge. If you had obdII you wouldn't need this set up, you could take the tach reading from the ecu.
