Very useful video. I now realise that the reason my 430X wouldn't stay docked was that a bought a replacement power supply a few years ago which was only rated at 1.1 Amp (by mistake) so the system could never work at 80% of the 4.2A needed. What the video don't say is that you can turn off this new feature. It was only added to my machine by a firmware update a few weeks ago. If you go Menu/Tools/Special Settings and scroll down you can untick a box "Temporarily disable charging protection". It now stays docked without the need to spend £180 on a new power supply. So it takes a little longer to charge .... no problem for me, Update: I wondered what the "Temporarily disable...." meant. Seems the feature turns itself back on! Initially after circa 2 days but then increasingly quickly. In the end had a give up and buy the properly rated transformer 🙄
Thanks! The video is much longer than I wanted it to be, but wanted to make sure that there was as much info in there as possible because of all of the variable to these errors. With so many parts on backorder I hated to see people just throwing random parts at mowers trying to solve these errors.
Great video. I wonder does this apply to an error I keep getting on my 405x; "Charging System Error"? The mower parks, starts charging and then this error pops up. Turning on and off the mower will get it going again, but you have to do that at the mower for every charging cycle and then manually start the next cutting cycle. Pretty heart breaking! Terrible service from my local authorised dealer where I got the mower along with a 450x. This error only started to happen after they replaced the charger's board as it just stop one day and I got the dreaded Full Red LED on the charger. But since they replaced the board , this has been happening and no help from them!
So if I’m understanding you correctly, Husqvarna’s latest updates caused this problem? If so, are you finding Husqvarna warranting products that are outside the warranty time? We’ve recently given up our dealership because of all the time taking to troubleshoot stuff just like this. Before that, we replaced about 20 com boards, which all required a software update. Now we have multiple mowers, all outside warranty, acting just like you are describing. Thank you for the video. Very helpful.
Excellent video, ordered the charging cable replacement for inside the mower as it's the cheaper option, hoping it's not the board in the mower. Had a few problems lately and it has a new transformer and low voltage cable and I just changed the charging plates in the mower and charging station I'm absolutely stumped, changed the cable in the mower from the charging plates and the charging station board and still have same problem, checked voltages, resistance and can't find any problem. When I check the current when it docks it's well below 80% but then quickly ramps up to almost full current but because it isn't there when it docks it's keeps reversing out. Any ideas because I have tried everything?
Great video! We are having the same issue with a couple of 450x here in NZ. Mower acts exactly the same as in the video but the error we are getting is Charging System Problem. Have you seen this before?
Yes, the mower shown in the video was one that we installed earlier this summer. Dealing with this error on a mower first hand is how we came up with the short cut of checking the charging current in the quick info menu to diagnose the issue faster.
Thank you. It's been a challenge to get an answer on this. So if I'm understanding correctly, if my 450x shows a combined 6600 mA, I definitely need a new main board?
Yes, if you're 450X/450XH is showing at least 5600 ma for the charging current (NOT COMPACITY!), then that leaves only the main board and the batteries as the remaining components in the system.
Hey mate great videos. What happens if I have absolutely no charge amps in the quick info menu?. My customers mower is saying it's charging but does not lift above 0% would that indicate a spent Battery?
Where is it saying it is charging? On the mowers menu screen? I would do a resistance test on the charging contacts & harness in the nose of the mower and on the harness inside the mower going from the charging plate connector back to the main board just to make sure there are no issues there. Here's a video that we put out a while back talking about this scenario. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nU69uyAU-WE.html If those parts are ok then you're down to either the main board or battery. And you could always put the battery in another mower just to verify that it is the battery that needs to be replaced.
Also having an issue with Changing, but on another level, even service centre doesn't seem to fix it, been there 3 times. Basically it says "charging error" but only when it has been fully charged in station 100% . And then it gets it, but its also 50/50 . They replaced the inverter, the wire, the charging station and even they took same charging station and replaced the board on it, also i think they replaced a board on the robot itself , still keeps coming back:) new robot, still has guarantee luckily:) funny issue.
Hi, I have bought a used one H 230acx one and it's spares or repair one. Got massage saying place mower in charger but nothing happening. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.
I was told by a service repair guy that a mower can only be used with the charging station that it was built with. He said that I had to get a whole new charging station for Husqvarna to replace my mower (that their repair guy didn't put the bottom seal on right). Was I being fed a line?
Yep, you were being fed a line. You can use a mower with a different charging station if you pair the mower to it. Here's an older video that we made showing how to do this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IXprbWIwvQ4.html
@@RoboticMowerServices This guy raped Husqvarna for warranty work for months. Long story short, certified repair guy failed to secure the rubber boot underneath and it scooped up dew and grass until it malfunctioned and drove over the boundary wire and into the pond. Every two to three months the new repair guy replaced every single part as they malfunctioned. He did that for over a year before I got a new mower.
Good question! I believe the proper diplomatic answer would be that if it's out of warranty then it is yours to repair how ever you see fit. If it is within the warranty period obviously you need to use Husqvarna OEM parts.
@@RoboticMowerServices copy that. In order to get a new mower after a faulty repair, Husqvarna made me sacrifice my warranty. Now the problem is that the wire got caught on a stick, pulled that gromet out, and the blades cut cut the wire. Either that or my neighbor sabotaged it. Thank you sir.
Has anyone had a problem where the mower reports more charge than it actually has? My 315 mower is sitting dead in the lawn every day. Then I put it on the charger and it shows 100% charge. All of a sudden the mower has no idea what the battery charge actually is. I just checked the info and it says that my 1600 mAh battery charge level is 2241 mAh. How is that possible!? Why is this happening all of a sudden?
SO GLAD YOU ASKED ABOUT THAT!!! Please send us an email to Roboticmowerservices@gmail.com with as much information about your mower, and the times you've experienced this. We have been going back and forth with Husqvarna about exactly what you are saying you've experienced and it helps to have as many documented cases as possible for them to look at. Thank you!
