It comes as no surprise, when he took the 5th, instead of telling the police where she was..... it was suspected. You do NOT drive all the way home without your girlfriend and claim you don't know where she is and refuse to tell where you last saw her. He acted suspicious, he was suspected and it turns out that is exactly what he is THE SUSPECT. Poor Gabby, away from her friends and family and only had him to rely on, and in the end he betrayed her in the worst way possible. RIP Gabby Petito.

I was honestly clinging on to that small possibility that she was alive somewhere and was just waiting to be found. This confirmation is heartbreaking.

Heartbreaking....That 911 operator really fucked up because he was told that SHE was the one being abused. Obviously, that wasn't translated well to the cops who arrived on the scene. This whole thing could've been prevented....so sad.

He was her fiancé not good fiancé but that’s what he was. The troopers that pulled them over they saw her crying and in distress and they saw bruises and scratches on him. But because she has blonde hair and blue eyes they did not want to take her to jail and this is what happens.

I think we were all hoping this wouldn’t happen but it seemed inevitable unfortunately. Hopefully they find that POS soon and bring him to justice!!! My thoughts and prayers out to her family.

I dont want to diminish the death of any other person who lost their life... because there have been many... but seeing Gabby in all of those videos... being so happy and carefree.... and she was so gosh darn beautiful, and just a young and happy girl... I think we just all liked her and kinda felt like we knew her Also, seeing her and Brian together with both of them looking so happy and having such a wonderful time together.... she was just a picture of having a happy life.... and its So Heartbreaking to know that someone so young and full of life, is no longer with us. Yea, astounding at the beginning, for days they just acted like 'he's a free agent'. You would hope all the airports/boats are being checked, and they just don't want to say to alert him.
In this case, I'm not sure it would have been that easy. For the same reason that if someone borrows your car with your permission. Her parents knew he drove the van, so he indirectly had their authorization to use the van. I'm not vouching for Brian, but simply stating that whether it's consider theft or not may be difficult to prove. However I believe it could be a factor in the charges, and could be included as additional charges. Her dad even says he's not sure if it's something he could be arrested for.
I thank GOD for my 3 inlaws, 2 sons, one daughter. I don't have to worry about my kids! Their spouses adore them, and keep them safe! As a Mother, and a survivor of domestic violence, that is a load off my mind! As parents, we have to watch who our children choose to be with, and too many times, they pick the wrong ones! What about all the hundreds/thousands of missing people whose names don't even get mentioned? No national alert, no news coverage, no search teams, no vigils? There are so many grieving families out there who got no support, case closed. As horrible as her loss is, the attention and sensationalism her case recieves is disproportionate to some of the attention, respect, concern and vigilance by law enforcement other other families of missing/lost should rightfully have.
I mean, when he showed up with his gf's car, and no sign of her, that was a pretty big clue. They showed all kinds of consciousness of guilt not talking to the police, not talking to her family, not telling anyone he took off. And we'll probably find out they gave him some traveling money too.

The media is working its devil magic. Showing a televised “reality” where the words “alleged” will be said even after the actions were confirmed. I knew the moment he returned to his parent's home without Gabby that more than likely, she would not be found alive. I also watched the video of their interaction with the police and even though Gabby was an emotional wreck and he seemed very controlled and pretty calm, I was side eyeing him because I know from experience that most times, people who appear calm and almost harmless in situations like that are guilty. It further gaslights the other individual because they come off as emotionally immature or crazy to outsiders. I'm a Proud Black woman and I've noticed the conversations and comments about the differences in treatment when it pertains to circumstances like this one and I don't disagree but I think that the focus should be put on finding this Coward, hopefully ALIVE so that he can pay for what he did! This is so sad because she had her whole life ahead of her. My prayers go out to her family, her friends and those who knew her. She seemed like a sweet young woman who unfortunately, Got connected to a spineless, cowardly, idiot guy who would rather kill her than to watch her flourish and grow. I understand due to lack of evidence, they couldn't charge him and arrest him. To me, he was a HUGE person of interest! So my question is, isn't there more that they could be....or should be doing to make sure people who are suspected of committing a crime (especially a murder or homicide, etc), don't just disappear like this Laundrie creep? During the investigation, they should be allowed to hold them or something. I have doubts about that, She broke off her engagement per her mom in a TV interview. i personally think he planned this bec he knew she was going to leave or date others. I also think both these families have issues. You dont just date an abuser out of the blue.

It is obvious that Brian killed her. If he hadn;t, he would have told everything immediataly after he arrived home without Gabby. And if Gabby didn't die immediately after Brian left her, Gabby would have called her family. This is a open and shut case.
I knew she was dead the minute I heard the first report. People who communicate regularly, have a social page , and is very vocal, doesn't just fall off the planet! They don't just go missing, especially when they aren't alone! I prayed she was at peace, and let go of the injustice, so she could pass on. I don't feel shes done that, I believe they'll find him, I believe somehow, she will lead them to him, and then she can rest! I call it unfinished business!

She was only a year younger than me. I can’t even imagine the pain her friends and family are going through. She seems like such a sweet, free spirited girl who could have done a lot of incredible things with her life. 😢 What’s worse is that she was (likely) killed by someone she truly loved and someone she believed loved her.

Yup... and thats the thing with these relationships and why they can be HARD to get out of, because we do love the person, but unfortunately the person is not capable of love. So once we can fight through all of the emotional crap because we don't want to give up on the relationship, once we see it for what is truly is (toxic) and them ONLY ever continuing to hurt us, it makes it a lot easier to put that down and want something better. These relationships are not easy and it's hard to make sense of someone who hurts people and had a pattern of doing it... just remember this person was this way long before you came into the picture and that hopefully they suffer in silence and you don't hurt anymore. That is the only outcome or end result with them. They don't change. :(

So many women fail to recognize just how toxic and shitty their relationship actually is. Those women need to take off the rose colored glasses and see their relationship for what it is.
It's so extremely hard when there is a trauma bond already formed. Women, starting young, and guys too! Need to be taught what this type of abuser acts like, thinks like, and the red flags of such a person so they can be informed before getting into relationships. Once you're snared (yes like a wild animal) especially if you're someone with a big heart, who sees the good in everyone, etc, it is so hard to leave even when it tears you apart. Studies have shown the similarities between the brains of abused women (study done on women not men) and Vietnam Vets. Which is wild. And makes the utmost sense.

Here's a fun twist... Brian may have been abused by Gabby. Just look at the police can footage. He was injured, while she wasn't, he hid in the van locking her out, waiting for her to cool off, leading me to believe she may have anger issues at the very least. I believe they were going to file a abuse claim on her... Not Brian leading me to come to the conclusion that he may have killed her, but not out of anger but self defense hence why the police arnt calling him a suspect and keeping it at person of interest. Yeah I don’t understand how they missed the signs. She was shaking, crying. Sad, I’m heartbroken just thinking how she was feeling while she was traveling with him, being abused, afraid for her life. Just horrible :(
I don't know. The cops separated them for the night and she kept the van. If she were in fear for her life at that moment she could have simply drove off then and there. She had no legal obligation to pick him up the next morning. And of course, she could have told the cops right then and there that she was afraid of him and didn't want him to remain in her vehicle. It would have been the perfect opportunity.
This stuff isn’t talked about enough. We gotta learn to see these signs early in people. I don’t care how Much in love we are , these type of people always show some sort of behaviour traits. We gotta pay attention to these early signs. My condolences to the family & friends.
Good question. I am just assuming here but maybe there are multiple markings on her body? (bruisings to her torso, head, neck etc) was she strangled, hit with an object, drugged, stabbed, shot? Her body is likely very decomposed so i'm guessing it is dificult to pin point the exact cause of death BUT it is obvious to them she was murdered. I would suspect though they already have an idea how she was killed but, perhaps they just want to be 100% sure before giving an official cause of death. Just like they already knew the remains "matched" Gabby the day they found her (enough to convey condolences to the family on Live tv) they could however only confirm it was Infact Her yesterday after being 100% from her autopsy. It sincerely sinks my heart to hear the official news about this poor girl, no one deserves this. May her soul forever Rest In Peace in the loving arms of our lord and may he give Gabby’s family strength and comfort to see them through these trying times🙏😔.
When the " missing guy " didn't want to talk to police, it meant the worse at that point already. Even a child would have figured it out. should have been under 24 hour watch as a suspect they wouldn t have to go through this costly manhunt
The police have their hands tied they are not allowed to work on suspicion alone anymore. Far too many people have taken the power from law enforcement and we are seeing the fear to act from the police now

Brian is a coward - he's a fugitive on the run and I hope he's alive so he can face the Petito family and the courts can deliver the hammer of justice on him. My heart goes out to the Petito family, I cannot imagine what they're going through.
After he killed his fiancé, he returned home in her van on Sept. 1 like it was a normal day. A neighbor saw him going on bike rides with mom, mowing the lawn & helping his dad repair the garage all while ignoring Gabby’s family’s calls and texts searching for their daughter.
Now that it's official she was murdered. Going to be interesting to see if parents try and help him now. I am sure they are watching their bank accounts and credit cards as well as his. I would guess they will now have warrants to look at parents accounts to see if any large cash with drawls since he returned home. Issue an arrest warrant and then that makes parents accessories if they try and help him. I would guess the banks have froze any credit cards he has and also his bank account so he can't use his debit card. Will make it tough for him on the run.

Young and old, old people all the time get fooled and wrecked by psychos. Anyway, it´s easy to say that she made mistakes choosing her partner but psychopaths' tend to be really smart and deceiving, generally they don´t show their true self until it´s too late.
Why would he take the van if he is simply a person of interest? What was she supposed to do abandoned in that area? Then came home not cooperating is pretty damning. There’s more to this they’re just waiting.

@Alex Fig Some people aren’t taught about toxic relationships and what to watch out for. It isn’t her fault. Some people don’t know the signs of being in a toxic relationship and want to stay with said person.

@@olson_media Actually she's in Sheol, which is the common grave of mankind. If she died righteous. she'll be resurrected. If she died unrighteous, she'll not be resurrected. Her death will be permanent. That's from Jesus who said at John 3:13. No man has ascended to heaven except the one who descended from it. That would be Jesus, himself. Now I believe Him, not all the fairy tale preachers and most everyone else who say different from Jesus. Man does not go to heaven when he dies. He goes to Sheol to await the resurrection. All this hubub about Hell, and burning forever and all the other false teachings was derived from mythological fantasies written by philosophers. Not the Word of God.
