Does it works with heavy material too? My company goods is metals. We are using old traditional store by keep it in wooden case and store on shelves. We're looking for project improvement.

unfortunately no, I’m in your exact same situation. This solution only works for small goods, if you are looking for automated solutions for bars stocking I suggest looking for systems involving stacker cranes for containers. They are expensive but pretty efficient

Are you integrating with other fully automated designs that take the human completely out of the loop? What about picking and packing right into a ground delivery pod like Starship Technologies? Is that in the making?

Not by them. They only focus on the storage part. But you can't order an autostore. It's only trough integrator companies, and they add other stuff to this setup

Hello - yes, we have clients who are using robotic picking with an AutoStore system. As Thibault mentions, this isn't a module line we manufacture, but you will see it as part of a complete warehouse operation as is conveyor or boxing/bagging machines.

Very interesting solution! What is the preferred, or optimal, hight of this system?

Depending on the bin size selected (we have 3 bin sizes), the max height is 16 bins for our most common 330mm bin. This is basically 5.4 meters or 17.75 feet. The minimum height is 4 bins high with the 330mm bin. You can find more information at www.autostoresystem.com/system.

We have customers around the world. We also have a grid at our North American headquarters in New Hampshire housing our spare parts. Visiting a client site is usually part of the process for companies evaluating an investment in AutoStore and warehouse automation.

No such possibility for this to impact you. Lowest velocity items naturally fall to the bottom. You will not have to consistently pick bottom layer items, or else they would not be on the bottom layer.
