Lovely work Shana. It's amazing how a small thing like outlining the edge of the circle or a scribbly line around the edge of the card lifts everything. Beautiful card.

Thanks. I tried gluing tissue paper with mod podge (and also paper from a pad) but the pad paper lifted off the back of the playing card. I tried scratching the glossy surface and tried again and it worked. I painted the front of the card with acrylic or chalky paint and that worked, although one card started flaking. Does anyone else have problems with playing card surfaces not adhering?

Hi Adrienne, I do also think it depends on the card. There are so many different types. I have found the really cheap ones, like from the $2 shops, are super shiney, thinner and don’t work great for altering. I use the ones I find at my supermarket (Coles or Woolworths if you’re in Australia) and I have not had a problem with those and I don’t sand them first. Perhaps a different brand playing card? Hope that helps. 😀

Thank you. Probably it is the cheap $Store cards I used. I'll try lightly sanding the rest of the pack and then try another brand. (I'm in the States.) 👍
