Physalis can be VERY invasive so be careful if planting out in the garden! I keep mine in a pot and would recommend creating a barrier if you want to plant it in a border :)
I’ve never seen a Chinese lantern in that specie but from where I live in China, there is a specie that with orange skin and the berries are edible, very delicious. Love your video and hope to see more!
The berries within the orange pods on the Chinese lantern are edible if you have the right variety!(check on this prior to eating). The berries on the other solanum are NOT for human consumption and may be picked off by birds.
What is the variety of your Chinese lantern? It is exactly what I am looking for. Want to make sure to buy the right kind of seeds since I have never seen the plant for sale here where I live in GA, USA.
