Come get all of mine you want. I’ve seen Virginia Creeper send people to the doctor for repeated shots and pills. For some, it’s far worse than poison ivy but let’s purposely plant it. 🤦‍♂️

I really like this video, but I would also recommend going with a bigger pot. Because the roots need to spread, so I say the bigger the better

You forgot to mention that you should choose an indeterminate potato. Otherwise you're not really accomplishing anything, and won't raise your yield by earthing up.

Thank you so much for this video. It is very informative and easy to watch. Somebody threw out a perfectly good palm and I took it~ I feel prepared to care for my new baby.

Can an everyday black bag be used to cover the palm from bad frost or snow, please?
@Rocketman0407
@Rocketman0407 3 месяца назад
Made of what? Plastic? It will keep it dry which can help. Other than that not very effective. You need to get frost cloth and some old Christmas lights to protect it properly.

I just bought one of these and the garden centre advised John Innes No 2 to repot it. Should it be mixed with anything else?
@Rocketman0407
@Rocketman0407 3 месяца назад
If that mix drains well, that’s all you need. Optionally You could add perlite or pumice to make it drain faster.

Hi Jack. I have one of these creepers and love it and is covering my whole fence. However, I don’t know if I need to cut it right back or leave it. My plan is to hide the fence so worry about cutting it back. Can you help please?

You can cut it back or you can leave it, its unlikely you're gonna kill it, theyre pretty resilient

I am deathly allergic to Virginia creeper and it is very invasive it will grow in my berries where I HAVE to tear it out and I invariably get it somewhere on my body and then am MISERABLE for about 10 days. I hope none of your family is allergic to it.

Why do you add the crushed plastic pots please ? I can’t see that you need them for drainage when you use John Innes compost mix which contains sand for drainage. Surely the more compost the better. Would love to know your theory behind it. Thanks.
@FknNefFy
@FknNefFy Год назад
Compost at the bottom of the pot is a waste… you want the nutrients up near the top so the nutrients get watered THRU the roots

I have just pulled one of these (trachycarpus fortunei )from beneath my hedge. To my knowledge it ha been horizontal since we purchased the house 5 years ago. It is around 8 feet long with several leaf fans. The plant has been laying sideways along the ground beneath the hedge. We decided to pull it out to see if we could erect it in the garden. When it was finally dragged out we found that it has obviously been cut down as at the base is basically a trunk about 9 inches in diameter, no roots, just a sawn through trunk. The plant appears healthy with about a dozen fan like leaves. I assume it's been getting its nutrients from the main trunk being in contact with the ground as it has no apparent roots? Should we just dig a hole and put it in, or should we shorten the trunk a little first?

Do this work for most raspberries? I don't think we have those varieties but I'm looking for native species in my tropical country.
