I agree with you, @Shawndaclose, I’m near Austin, TX and right now, at 3:50 pm, Oct 20, it’s a record temp of 96 F. We won’t see fall colors like y’all, Sarah and Brandon, so living vicariously through y’all.
Yall are all about off grid have either of you ever heard of a window oven? Great for heat in day time, just remember to remove the window screen if you take up the idea. Will get hot enough for them to put if a stinky smoke And everything you need to make it can be purchased from Lowe’s or Home Depot

We are thinking of just sticking with the electric heat this winter instead of the wood stove! Man we loved that thing while we were using it at the last house, but the only thing was it sucked how we couldn’t “leave it on low” while we were gone, always came back home to a chilly house haha. It would make a good duo with the electric heater! But we legit can’t think of 1 spot in the house where there is enough clearance around it that it could go… 🤔 TBD on that I guess haha

Lovely scenery - LOVE seeing all the black bears. We don't have any where I live (we have roe deer, hares, storks and wild boars). I'm not fond of winter either, or the darkness that comes with here it in the North - but the fall colors are always a beauty in their bounty.
It is looking so pretty in the fall. It is amazing how many bears are there on the edges of the water. Good thing Iko has a nice day-glo orange collar to keep her from being mistaken as anything other than the sweetest bear-dog that she is. It is also good to see she is back to her healthy self again.
Really enjoyed your video. That mama bear probably was not too far away from her little cub. The lake sure is purty this time of year. Mr Brandon did a great job explaining how to hook up gas stoves.I agree with Mr Brandon 100% about buying crap from china. You would think the state laws would work better for Americans ! It was difficult to hear on camera but we could hear mama bear calling for her baby! She wasn’t far at all. Haha can always count on brandon to say it like it is! 🙌
I have a residential gas license, up to 400k btu. I don't work in the business or own one. I also have a problem buying things gas related. I think it's a nationwide problem.

7:50, I've been in a 40' Retired Air Force Ambulance for 7 years, with multiple sources of heat... 1) Mini-split with heat 2) Electric PATTON Milk House heater 3) Diesel heater with 5 gallon off road diesel fuel source 4) Wood Stove 5) Propane wall furnace 6) Diesel heaters from the bus Two Carbon Monoxide detectors 2 one hundred pound propane bottles, 2 forty pound propane bottles, and 2 twenty pound propane bottles. If all those fail, I'm headed to my daughter's apartment... HATE the cold. I also use an Eccotemp L5 water heater for my clothes washer, sink, dishwasher, and shower. I'll never go back to a tanked water heated system! Total waste of energy, keeping water hot for just in case I want to use it. Eccotemp has been a wonderful company to work with... if you call in for repair advise, they'll create a ticket and keep it open until you tell them to close it. Brian @ Eccotemp will call back periodically to make sure everything is still good. (had a yellow burner flame)
We were highly considering a mini split!! There are some that are quite efficient. We just got a really good deal on the little ecoflow unit haha. 🤷🏼♀️😋 Thank you!!
Everyone’s rent was doubled in the harbor, as well as a big increase on the marina slip costs too. New owners at the resort/marina felt like it should be more, so they upped it. 🤷🏼♀️ I think they are wanting to fund the addition of more slips added to the marina one day.

A great fix for when the propane regulator freezes up when it's -9 degrees outside. The *heated corn therapy bags*... throw one in the microwave for a couple minutes, lay it on top of the frozen regulator. No flame needed to thaw regulator👍

I guess like anywhere it depends where you are but here we hang out with our neighbors a lot in the summer and then most of them live somewhere else in the winter so it can be pretty solitary in the cold months. Maybe somewhere where it’s warmer in the winter everyone wouldn’t leave haha
