I have made several of these hats for the children at our local children's home alone with several of your other hats. 30 in total! Thanks you for all you do for crochet!
Hi Linda! Ha! I turned another one 😁 * giggle * I'm so happy you've enjoyed a couple of our hat tutorials! Once you start making hats, it's hard to stop...I made one for myself when I was 13 and I haven't been able to stop since 🤣
Jayda you are the best teacher...I could barely crochet when I was young but always liked it (I’m almost 70 now)...and when my daughter got me a smart phone for Christmas last year I started crochet with you. Now I have made two baby blankets...5 hats...4 scarves...12 little Easter baskets...and lots of other little things you’ve taught me. I can’t thank you enough.
Hi Patricia! We are just delighted to hear that! (I think those smart phones can actually makes us smarter sometimes!) Thank you so much for watching :)
Exquisite pattern, thank you once again for a first class tutorial. I learned to crochet with you, made my first granny square successfully and have been hooked ever since. You really are a wonderful teacher and designer. xxxx
I think I say this about all your patterns, but I love this. Especially how easy to finish, no decreases. It’s beautiful. Granddaughters each getting one of these. Thank you again for sharing. Update. Finally got that yarn, and made the hat. I LOVE it. It was easy, and rewarding! I’m using the leftover to make a thin primrose stitch scarf, and everyone I’ve ever met is getting one lol. Thank you Jayda!
Jayda, you are just a wonderfully fun and inspiring person, and your videos always make me smile! I am so glad I happened to stumble upon one of your crochet tutorials almost 2 years ago (the Christmas Tree skirt tutorial was the first video of yours that I ever saw, and I have been a fan of your work ever since). That was the project that inspired me to keep trying, and in a short amount of time, with help from you, I have improved greatly! I can even read patterns now! Thank you Jayda! I am looking forward to making this hat!
I like this pattern Jayda. I make buffs. You can wear them like a cowl, or like an open hat to let long hair hang out, draw slightly closed for a ponytail to hang out, or draw in tight for a slouch hat. A multi functional hat. This would make a nice pattern for one.
Hi Carol, we made one of those a while ago, I've never heard them called "buffs" before, that's really cute! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i3mZ2CXRR9Q.html
I call it a buff as I styled it on one I bought whilst in Scotland a couple of years back. It was made from tube style t-shirt material made for hikers..I like to wear them on bad hair days, chuckle.
Awww I love the colors you chose!!! The stitch is really pretty too!!! I can’t wait to try your pattern out! I love crocheting hats! Thank you for teaching us how to make it! Xoxoxo 💕🦋
Beautiful stitch pattern in hat,the self striping yarn shows up the pattern beautifully, I see why use that yarn.I have some self striping yarn so I will make a hat when I finish the project I am doing. Thanks.
You have such a clear way of instruction... and inspiring creativity. I can always follow your videos and have loved each one I’ve tried. Especially the corner to corner blanket. Thank you so much !!
Oh Jayda I measured my grandsons head then started my sc row and then 1 sc 2 dc row and forgot to check if it was a multiple of 3. Luck was with me and it worked out perfect. I love it , thank you for making me look so good to my grandchildren.

HI Jayda! I love this! Beautiful way to start your tutorials, totally sets the mood. You are the sunshine we all need. Can't wait to hit the stash and get to work. HAPPY WEEKEND! 🤗 💕
I love your personal photo shoots. I sent one of my channel subscribers your way because she wants to learn how to do amirgrumi and I think your tutorials are the easiest to follow for a newbie. You were there one who inspired me to start amirgrumi. I love this hat. I love the colorway as well.
Wanted to update you. I made one this morning with yarn in my stash. It looks like the yarn you used. I had some Swirled Ombre by Loops and Thread. Similar colors. However, yours looks way better. But with your tutorials I am getting better. Thanks again! Blessings
Jayda, your timing is perfect. My daughter just asked me to make her a few hats. This pattern is perfect. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for such clear directions and modeling of the steps. You are a wonderful teacher! 💕
This really is a pretty hat. And I love the top. When you were modeling it at the start of the video I thought it was post stitches. I'll have to try this one. Love the colors too!
Okay you're such an enabler now I have to run out and get yarn cakes! This is such a lovely little hat the autumn colors are so delightful. And as always you tutorials are spot-on! TFS ❣️💚 💜💙🍂 🍁🍂
I love this pattern. I made it and it worked up so fast for me and I crochet slow compared to most. I'll Add a pompom for a child and make one for myself! Thanks for a great tutorial!
Howdy! That stitch looks really cool in the hat! Plus I love the colors! You looked like you had a lot of fun modeling the hat. Lol! Have a great day! :)
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I made this hat for myself. It came out cute and I love it. I’m not a hat person...well, I wasn’t until a few days ago when I made a slouchy a few days ago. I will be making more of these, thank you again!
Very nice Jayda! Such clear and concise instruction. Nice and easy and it looks beautiful! That yarn is really pretty! Thanks for another great tutorial!
