Thanks for Watching. This cost effective little switch panel controller will hopefully be a great solution to control a few lights and accessories around the truck from in the cab. Couldn't spend the money for Spod or Switch Pros at the moment so I wanted to test this thing out instead of wiring up my own rocker switches. Happy with it so far and a really good price.

On mine, the short primary power cable wasn't an issue, because I always install a large in-line circuit breaker between the unit and the battery. Common practice in high amperage installs. So I just snipped the end off the short cable that came with the unit, installed the circuit breaker, and then used a longer length of heavy gauge wire to run to the battery.
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад
That's definitely a good call. I installed a breaker for my dual battery in the rear. Even though I'm only running across the engine bay I think that's a good call. I'm going to add one in
@glenniz1
@glenniz1 3 года назад
That is the same way I will install my fuse and relay box. A Stinger 75 amp breaker fuse and then 4 gauge primary wire from there to the battery.

Just got the same model of Auxbeam Switch Panel in the mail from Amazon last week. Looks like a very well made unit, however, I would recommend a bead of silicone around the lid on the fuse box, and some rubber grommets between the mounting bracket and the body of the vehicle. Overall, I am very happy with the price, design, quality, and after watching your video.....the ease of installation!

Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Question. Can this be use with auxbeams strobe pods? Or do I have to use the provided switch that comes with the pods? Wondering if the gang has the software to run the different strobe functions. Amber and white pods. Thanks in advance! New to the channel!

There seems to be 3 versions of this thing. One has a clear fuse box and comes with a fused link to the battery. It also has solid state relays. The other has a similar fuse box to this one, with solid state relays and a main power switch on the power cable to the battery. Then there’s this one, my least favourite cause it has those huge, old school relays.
@EvergreenOverland

@lukebaldwin3682
@lukebaldwin3682 2 года назад
The 8-switch panels have Solid State Relays, one has you accessory power wires coming out both sides and the other has you light wires on one side. They are both not waterproof, which is the advantage of the box for the 6-switch Relays. I bought if for that factor.
@officialWWM
@officialWWM 2 года назад
@@lukebaldwin3682 I bought the 8 gang one. Sure it might not be waterproof but that doesn’t bother me, I was able to mount it somewhere dry 🤷🏻‍♂️ I would rather have the extra 2 switches.

Do individual wires coming from the battery go to each circuit/switch. I would like to replace one source wire and tap in a highbeam circuit for my light bar that switches its own relay.
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 2 года назад
Only one wire from each of the positive and negative connection of your battery go into the auxbeam switch panel. From there it has the six different circuits that can go out. Not sure on the specifics of how it would work for your application though.

Where do you hook up the negative wires on the accessories like a light bar? From what I can tell you only plug in and screw down the positive wires. Am I wrong?
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад
I mounted the negative wires to the same nutsert/bolt in the auxbeam mounting holes which grounds it out to the inner to the chassis by the way of the inner fender it is mounted to. Thanks for watching.
@patriotsedge6730
@patriotsedge6730 3 года назад
Ok, maybe I missed something. Does whatever you're hooking up to the relay box get both the HOT and GROUND wires hooking into it? Which of the screws gets the HOT and which gets the ground on the Auxbeam relay box? It's not labeled that I can tell and the included instructions don't make sense to me.
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад
I ran a negative wire for my lights all the way back to the unit and grounded them out on the mounting bolt I used in the engine bay but honestly you could ground it out anywhere on the chase I'd think.

As per Auxbeam the wire gauge for the 8 gang is 7 AWG. Does it mean in order to extend the battery wires I have to use 7 AWG wires for the Red and Black wires?
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland Год назад
Honestly depends on how far one is extending it. I don’t have the chart available to me but there are metrics online show how conductivity drops at what distance for 12v wiring. If I needed to only go a few more feet I would use more 7awg but if I was going a longer distance I might rewire all the way back to the unit with a larger gauge.
@phill1491
@phill1491 3 года назад
Is that Acc wire just for the backlight on the switch panel? Or does it also limit the accessories to only come on when the ignition is on?
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад
Correct on the second one. It controls when the accessories are powered or not. I guess you could hook it to an always on fuse for use when the vehicle isn't running, but the backlight to the unit would have a slow draw on the system. Thanks for watching Phill.
@YamadaFaka

@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад

@smfmotors
@smfmotors 3 года назад
@@EvergreenOverland I will be wiring a 12v outlet to this. That 12v outlet would be used to power a 300w inverter which will have a Bluetti EB150 portable battery connected to it for charging.
@EvergreenOverland
@EvergreenOverland 3 года назад
What I found it really depends on what amperage you use. I know the auxbeam have different amperage outputs for the different connections. My gut would be to use a 20amp or the 30amp output for your 12v socket, but it will really be limited more by the 12v socket plug that you get. I found a Nocco for 15amp. Not sure if there are others at higher amperage, but I would size the port you use on the auxbeam to whatever the maximum input of the socket is that you get. All that to say if I were doing that I would probably oversize it and do 10 gauge since you will have some voltage drop over the length of wire either way.
@smfmotors

@EvergreenOverland

Each which is individually fused. I only have three of the fuses running any power through them but I can use all three no problem. I don't think it would be an issue as long as you don't exceed 60 amps draw Total and your fuses are sized accordingly. I would honestly message the manufacturer through Amazon and let them know what you're trying to run on it. I'm sure they could tell you 100% whether work for your application or not
