AV-8B NA Harrier II Moving Map & UFC Radio Functionality Quick Start Guide in DCS World 2.5.1!

**Sorry for the rough nature of the video I made it on the fly!**
A quick and rough look at the functionality of the EHSD Moving Map and Controlling the Radios, both Comm 1 and Comm 2, with the Up Front Controller or UFC.
Let me know if a more fleshed out and more edited look at the Moving Map and Radios in the AV-8B are needed!
DCS World Update 2.5.1 Adds a lot of functionality to the AV-8B NA Harrier II that I hope will allow more complicated and involved mission creation for the Module.

Wow, the graphics quality of that Harrier cockpit is amazing! :-) Makes me want to actually consider buying the harrier :-)

I'd like to Spudknocker, but unfortunately I am a newbie. I am still struggling to fly in FC3, let alone try a full fidelity plane like the Harrier. Down the track, when I start to get comfortable with DCS, I'll look at it. Thanks for replying though and keep up the good work with your videos.

I sure will thanks for your support! I would seriously think about getting at least one full fidelity module, if the Harrier or A-10 sounds daunting try out the L-39, I find that the FC3 modules are actually harder for me because I have to remember so many key binds, I find it easier to learn the cockpit and hit stuff with my mouse than learn the keyboard.

Eran Malloch... I agree with Spudknocker, remembering the keybindings of the FC3 could be just as if not more confusing than memorizing a cockpit. Like he said a trainer would be perfect for you because you don't have to worry about all the computer system of the A-10/Harrier but it does teach you to learn the actual aircraft vs learning keybindings. Dive into the deep end is my only advice haha it's only a simulator so you have all the time in the world to practice

Good stuff. One suggestion would be to mention the course set functionality. Will be useful around the carrier once the tacan is implemented. Hope the updates from Razbam keep coming for this plane.

Great video for explaining the features spud, how do you use the autopilot functions you mentioned and is there any way to use VOR navigation in the harrier yet? Not all airfields have TACAN

not being able to use Mavs is more than an unfortunate downside lol I suppose squeezing off 20 unguided rockets will have to NOT suffice. Give me back my Maverick capabilities and keep the moving map (as glorious as it is). Excellent Video nontheless

The hud also shows waypoints on the ground now I noticed as well, not sure if that was in there before

Your TrackIr is so stable. Mine sucks so bad. Do you mind sharing your settings? (I know its common theme to repeat that the settings for each TrackIR are different and one should make their own. I think its one of those things that gets repeated so much that eventually becomes true, even if it isnt)

Also, I have TrackIR4, I wonder if that could be why I get so many problems. Its super hard to look at panels on the sides of the seat for example, they never stop moving. Do you also have this problem? With Oculus Rift its fine.

Joao Carlos if you have any light sources at all in front of the sensor it will cause many issues for you best thing to do is have it facing a wall with no lights between it and a wall

When people tell the jtac how much play time they have, how do you they that in the harrier mate? How about making a mission where you go through setting your own waypoints then enroute overlord tells you to perform CAS at a waypoint you have to manually put the coordinates in and talk properly to the jtac then carry on with mission then return back to the carrier you started from?

When you swap between waypoint using HOTAS, which function did you bind; waypoint increment? Because in the past that only increased the WP number but I had no way to select previous WP.

William Sternritter it is waypoint increment and your right you can’t go back with that button

Not yet unfortunately! Hopefully that functionality will come soon before I blind myself flying at night when I accidentally turn the moving map on haha!

Talocan unfortunately DCS World and the module’s are a constant WIP and are constantly evolving... I would look at the big picture and be thankful that DCS World is alive and well unlike most combat flight sims!

That stuff doesnt work at all for my harrier, no moving map. It doesnt show any map at all only the black one, and i also get no signs in it too. I repaired the game and all but nothing is working. I had the picture of the moving map once but it wasnt moving at all just stood at the same place. Is it bugged at the moment or something else? Or am i doing something wrong? My radio and TCN works fine but also doesnt show the tanker or the airfield at the EHSD..

I was just flying on the caucus map and I went to do this, instead of displaying the map it just flashed "no map" in the bottom left of the display. Does caucus map not support this?

Yeah, I asumed it had something to do with misalignment or something, or possibly the server i was on for some reason didn't allow it.

not sure if im missing something, but the ufc doesnt let me manually update frequencies while still on the ground. It's either a bug or I'm just not doing something right...

Make sure you're on dcs 2.5.1, and that the radio is set to M

I figured out what I was missing; you have to make sure you actually press the white channel selector knob before attempting to input digits into the ufc...
