A little bit about us:
Ernesto and Christina met on catholicmatch.com and got engaged 6 months later. Ernesto moved from sunny L.A. to join Christina and her daughter Alyssa in Denver Colorado. They became a family on April 26th, 2008. As Alyssa got ready for college, Ernie & Christina started saving for a house and planning for the future. The way any young couple would. Alyssa moved to Arizona and for awhile everything seemed on track. Then on Christmas day 2010 after midnight mass Christina found a lump in her right breast. She knew right away it was cancer. She was so young (36 at the time) the doctors were not so sure. It was cancer. Triple Negative breast cancer to be exact. She tried ALTERNATIVE treatments for 11 months only to have to tumor return twice and ultimately had to submit to conventional treatments. She did chemo, radiation & surgery. Unfortunately after all that the cancer returned in the summer of 2013. The story doesn't end there though! In the middle of all that Ernie & Christina had a surprise baby. In April of 2013 Christina found out she was seven months pregnant. She had no idea! All the side effects she was having her doctor said was b/c of the cancer treatments. Christina delivered a very healthy miracle baby girl on May 5th 2013. Despite all of the toxic drugs she was exposed to she is fine. Very healthy. Baby Ava has brought light to a dark situation. We hope you will draw inspiration from our story and how we choose to live life to the fullest despite a terminal cancer diagnoses!

I love how you're teaching Alyssa to enjoy her life. None of us know how much time we have. Cancer or not...there are a lot of people that passed today that didn't have cancer. We would all be so much happier if we kept things in perspective ...that God holds life and death in His hands...♥ you guys

Haha it's so nice you have fresh figs. It's a regular fixture in the grocery store here. You only have to be careful of them because birds really like to eat them and then poop on them and they don't wash anything here lol. Ava is really standing good. She's just gonna take off walking! Oh yeah, that beef shwarma and falafel yummers! I've tried to make it at home and failed each time lol. Can't believe Ava is drinking so good from cups already! Growing like wheatgrass haha. It's true. They grow way too fast!

You look so much better as far as complexion! I was so excited to see Ava stand up and squat so many times! It made me a bit teary eyed. I've never witnessed something like that. Babies are so fascinating! Yay Ava, can't wait till she starts walking!

ah a much needed Ava fix!! you can not watch her without smiling! those shoes are just too sassy! and she is just so impressive, she knows she is doing something cool and you can tell that in the play pen and later with you Chris that she is intentionally practicing standing on her own and in the pen dancing without holding on. I love hearing her "tell" us all about how hard her day was. adorable! i know its probably a lot of stress having so many people telling you not to stop vlogging daily. But at least you get to see how many people just love you guys so much they cant stand the idea of not. Ernie is so cute you can tell how much he admires and loves his girls! And its not that your skin looked that bad its just that you look so good its almost like your glowing! i think that this vaccine is doing its job and as much as i will miss you i cant wait for the day when your feeling so good and get back to normal life without tnc intruding in your daily life that your too busy living happily to have time for youtube.

Ernie ... some good cardio really helped me ( along with weight lifting ) I do 2 miles on the treadmill every day and it really doesn't take that long. I figure if I don't take care of my self then I won't be able to take care of others.

Ava is so cute trying to stand on her own. I am surprise you have never seen a fresh fig, since you were raw for awhile. I hope Ernie is able to get his blood sugar down and get healthier.

I concur with the masses: you do look much better and Ava standing on her own is ohsoflippingamazing! I've never seen whole figs either...my fig experience is also limited to fig newton innards (which I think have the consistency of minced flies). Perhaps I'd like them in their pre-minced fly state.

Car Vlog!! You two so remind me of how Tim and I interact with each other, and you crack me up (we also crack ourselves up most of the time)! July 26th, we have been together for 18 years so that is a good thing, right?!! Great to see the vaccine being administered to you so that it can go and do its important job!! Likely your hair is thinning a bit from the cytoxan even though it has only been ten days, and you just got the one dose. You do look better, and I am glad your pain is becoming much more manageable. That is really interesting that your cancer responds to being measured with the C125 ovarian tumour marker; that is so helpful so that your oncologist can order the test when you want to see where you are! Did you end up getting the fresh figs? Ernesto, figs have a lot of flavour, fiber, pectin, calcium, Tryptophan ( promotes good sleep), and potassium; one large one has about 10 grams of carbohydrates, but they also have 2 grams of fiber, so they are very good for you if you limit the portion, or serving size. You can also lessen the glycemic index, by combining carbs with a bit of protein, so just eat a little piece of cheese with one, and enjoy! Great job, Alyssa, sharing the information in your new book, and what a blessing to see Ava doing so much as a 'big girl'!! She is sooooo close to walking, guys! I just love watching her play, communicate, and get around on her knees!! It is a long weekend here (Monday is a civic holiday) so we are hoping to have a nice weekend; we hope you do, as well!! I read that figs help with virility in men. Most vegetables and fruits look like the body part they are intended to help..... Tomatoes/heart, carrots and celery/bones, onions /skin, oranges/eyes and cells, walnuts/brain, etc....
