I saw a documentary about one of their special session with a comedian to work on their facial expression. To make it funny, entertaining but not to overdo it the entire time. The comedian showed what facial muscle to use and all.

I lived in Japan for 10 years. One thing I particularly noted was the dolls - they seemed to have their own souls! And, seeing these girls dance is exactly how I always imagined those dolls dancing were they to come alive at night while everyone was asleep!! Loved the ironic facial expressions, too! I've been watching this video EVERY day since they performed - my daily dose of Happiness!

凄い日本をイメージさせてるダンス。日本人形のおかっぱ、日本独特の制服、最初の菊の花の始まり、風ぐるまの足芸、座頭一みたいな振付の一部、AGT優勝者の海老名さんの首が外れるとこの踊り、歌舞伎の頭を回す芸等入れてて日本人魂の入った踊りをちゃんと見れました。面白かった

Agt is a rigged talent show. They don't care about normal people with normal backgrounds. They only care about sad stories like having cancer, dead father, blind, school shooting victim etc (that's how to get golden buzzer easily)...They just want more "tears" to get more views and more money

Wow! The complxity of the choreography was astonishing, the sleeves acted like extra legs, the costume simple but so stylish. What impressed me most was the confidence not to copy anyone else. No hip hop clone but pure Japanese confidence in your own culture and style. It was highly competent and disciplined showing hundreds of hours of work. A true masterclass in choreo and execution.

すごい！演技前後の余裕っぷり。もう日本でも場数を踏んでるしプロフェッショナルですね。海外コメみんなゴールデンブザーだと絶賛の嵐。最初に出た動画では、プロの振付師という人がブリリアントで革新的、そして彼女達も振付師もどれだけの労力をかけてこんなすばらしい演技を見せてくれたか感謝のコメントしてましたよ。

What an extremely FUN and exciting performance! CINDERELLA HONEYMOON - great song and dance routine. I lived and worked in Japan for a decade, and what this dance routine reminds me of is the Hina Matsuri dolls and the other Japanese dolls I'd see .... Exactly how I would expect to see them move and dance if they came alive! Great choreography and "acting". I've been returning to this performance at least once/day - They are my "happiness" medicine!!

These girls radiate positive energy. this is like hypnosis. you can look at this forever. This is not just a breath of fresh air on AGT, it is a Hurricane of fresh air! They are 100% the best on AGT in the entire history of this program!

Seen so many dance group videos with so great dancers but this one is just too perfect every steps and every moment looks appealing and smooth even if hard or easy steps... Golden buzzer for sure

The whole theater stand ovation for them including the judges and their comments. I was hoping one of the judges to press the GOLDEN buzzer but I am sure they are going very far. All of you comment on how good they are, the symmetry, body movements and perfect in sync. America definitely welcome this girls and their talent. Well done Avantgardey!!!

The frocks lifted and forced a negative space framed by the contrasting arms revealing actual negative space in the background made the whole thing pop unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The head, hair, facial expressions all on point. Theres more on RU-vid. I can’t stop watching ❤

@@RobertPagano226 Each culture has a different flavor. I saw it but this one is the most innovative. No provocative costumes, no excessive make ups, not so many props and the only thing that stands out the most is the dance itself. In short like this a lot! Fresh to my eyes!

I just saw a competing dance group that got the Golden Buzzer and they were no where near the level of Avangardy. If I had a golden buzzer in front of me I would’ve destroyed it!!

Yes, same here! They were so demure and charming during their interviews before the judges, but when the music started, it was the most wildly fun and exciting performance I've ever seen from a dance group. They are truly something unique and special.

I wonder if, because the song lyrics were in Japanese, the judges missed just how excellent the choreography paired with the words, and so they didn't get the Golden Buzzer? Akane's ideas are brilliant!

This is what I love about Japanese people. When it comes to different aspects, such as their talents, they give us "perfection." I mean, look at how they gave their all in their performance! ❤❤
