I have the same model. I have started a Detroit Series 60 14 L that would not start due to drained batteries. I actually bought 2 of them. When the batteries are completely dead, 2 of them will start the semi. The Avapow has started every car and diesel pickup I have ever tried it on. I really don't like the way the cables hook up to the booster, but overall it has worked for me.
I got the same model. So far so good. I jumped a 2020 e450 with a 6.2 gas engine like nothing. I like the fact you charge the jump pack with a usb type c cable. The thing I don’t like is the gator leads are so short but I wager that’s how they get the most amps to the battery. I work on Isuzu npr and Hino diesel also so I should be able to put it to the test.
Thank you for the video. You are the only one to mention the force start function. Other videos state will not start a totally dead battery. While other manufacturers mention their boost mode. Well done sir!
Keep in mind some Avapows have a Boost button, and some do not. I have the same exact Avapow 6000A A68 model and there is No Boost button on my Avapow 6000A or cables, as my videos will show. Its very odd how the same exact model of Avapow has some A68s having a Boost button, and some A68s NOT having a Boost...weird. So our Avapow 6000A A68 model cannot jump start a completely dead battery as our vids will show, we do NOT have a Boost on our unit.
Ah, we get the edited version now without the clapping and no B-Roll?... Also, I was upset that this got posted RIGHT after I bought the 3000A one.... then watched this and am.... not upset. 😏
I bought one and used to "try" to start a WD Allis 4 cyl tractor. Took a dump after about 3 seconds and took forever to "reset" so I hooked up my old 1500 amp Schumacher mini and that spun it over for quite some time even though it didn't start. Sent it back.
Yeah I was happy with the Topdon. After seeing this however, Now I am really happy I bought the Topdon. I think that rattle is the Dice rolling around inside because you are taking a chance using that thing..LOL
Excited for this one. My 04 cr takes batteries too 8 volts in 2 days n I bought this for it. this thing will jump it there. Takes 3 or 4 tries to get it done in the snow though
I just ordered this today and only paid $88 on sale with a coupon, i always tend to have a dead battery on one of my vehicles from human error lol. but i actually watched a video where a guy had no clue how to use it and didn't even use a boost and then bought a $400 one instead (so if this tells you what kind of smarts some people have). anywho i have 2 V8's and a 7.3 diesel i can use this on if i ever need. thanks for the review
What's up everyone! I purchased this after the two vehicles in my driveway had dead batteries. I vowed to myself I would never get caught with my pants down with two dead batteries again. Just waiting to use it.
So apparently the force start function (boost mode) is a 2023 upgrade. Of course it is, I bought mine the end of 2022. Maybe I can purchase the new upgraded jump clip separately from Avapow?
i got that jump starter. didn't see a override button might have problems if car battery is below certain voltage i could be wrong. your car sounded noisy.
You worked so hard to get a $50 gift certificate with this review ;) I hope your efforts paid off! (Note: My comment is said in good fun, not mean and snarky.)
Hopefully whatever is flopping around in the jump starter is not metal, and plastic? They use a unique plug end, that probably has a fuse or breaker in it, so the main unit doesn't go up in flames?
What's your favorite or most recommended Jump Starter on the market? I was looking at this as it is now dropped down to $90 and I am looking for an upgrade to an outdated 2000a model that doesn't seem to want to charge anymore. I've read so many bad reviews on this and even the mediocre ones give me pause. I want something that will last and will kick start a completely dead battery.
The rattle is so you can shake your car and find where you put it, when the car can't start. Shaking the truck works better if your diesel is under 12 liters, though. Or you need to be in a quiet place.
I have this only've had it for a month. It jump starts my Nissan 2008 just fine but my 24-ft international 4700 diesel box truck with batteries. Brand new since 2011 and been through a few winners. Would not start it at all. I think I'll go with the noco 250 and pay the extra money and just keep this one in my Nissan. I would not recommend this for a larger vehicle. Maybe a motorcycle car or even a truck.
Guarantee its NOWHERE near capable of 6000amps. The new Lithium portable jump starters are VERY different than traditional lead acid/AGM jump packs... They use "Fuzzy Math" to get those numbers...they use a formula of Joules over time... which is overly complex math with no real world reference to the public, a Joule is a single watt of power for only 1 second peak.. just the tiny guage wire in the cables is your obvious giveaway. These little packs are enough to start small engine cars & SUVs in Warm weather...realistically the average commuter vehicles need less than 200amps to crank over & with computerized fuel injection.. they fire right up & dont need extended cranking time like older carburated engines did. These are light duty, warm weather assistance.. theyre VERY temperamental to low temps as well as high temps. Theyll simply not turn on & won't charge outside their happy working temps. Lithium packs also are easily damaged after the vehicle starts and the charging system kicks in to recharge the vehicles battery..if you leave it hooked up for a couple minutes trying to use the vehicle to recharge the pack ( like is often done with sealed lead acid or AGM jump packs without issues) the running voltage is too high & will damage the battery & shorten its lifespan. As for being able to jump a 12L Diesel?... lol... thats funny... for a reference point.. most semis use 3 or 4 Large HD group 31, 900-1100 cranking amps (each) hooked together. That works fine when its warm or down to the 30s, when it gets to freezing temps or below freezing... even 4 large 1100amp batteries struggle... that little toy wouldnt even turn a 12 liter Diesel engine let alone start it. Remember, Big Bore Diesels don't have Preheaters ( glow plugs or grid heaters) like smaller pickup sized Diesels do... Big Trucks rely soly on ability to keep cranking those high compression engines over & over until they generate enough heat & compression to ignite the fuel...plus, in addition to needing 1500-2500amps to crank a large displacement cold diesel...ya need to maintain high enough voltage (while under that big amperage load), to keep the computer ECM powered up... no computer, no start.... These are misleading to the general public using fuzzy math to get impressive numbers, when most dont even know how much they need....the kind of consumer that would buy these, is likely only an average commuter car driver & under the low amperage demands they need... itll usually be enough & they're none the wiser.
The performance numbers on all amazon jump starters is bs, 6000 amps is 72000 watts, I actually like the design of it but 72000 watts is more battery output then a Nissan leaf, don't fall for the marketing
Did the company call you and make you change your review before they paid you? I just bought 10 of these based on this "awesome" review. I'm sure the fish hook is fake! Looks like a lot of viewers don't get sarcasm:).
It jumps my 04 cr in winter at 8v. I don't know how y'all can't get it to jump a car... But completely dead? My understanding is these style jumpers won't start a dead battery. Designed for a weak battery
6000 amps ? That's either a lot of power or a lot of Bull crap. A 6000 amp unit should be tested on a row of diesel18 wheelers. All I see being tested are 1/2 ton trucks, cars and a few other light duty engines. My money will stay in the bank until somebody REALLY puts these things to the test. 6000 amps out of a cheap little $100. plastic box ???? Not likely !
