Brands: NOCO BGX155, Gooloo, Yesper, Autogen, Avapow, Lokithor, Provasee, Foxpeed, BRPOM. All the jump started tested on a 5.3L and 7.4L gasoline engines with completely drained batteries. Jump starters also tested on a 5.9L diesel with completely drained batteries. Batteries bench tested for current and total watt hours. I purchased all of the jump starters to ensure an unbiased review. So, thank you for supporting the channel.

Our NOCO at work stopped taking a charge after about a year.. used it about 1-2 times a week to jump our big trucks. I followed the directions every time. We'd only get about 2 attempts per charge out of it. NOCO said the battery went bad because we didn't use it enough....... so if you buy one make sure you're going to use it frequently

I love Project Farm's content, so I mean this all in a complimentary way. When he's reading product marketing or features, his delivery is so consistent that he sounds like a well-designed AI voice bot. I like it because it suggests that every unit is getting a fair assessment. It also makes it that much more noticeable when a product performs above expectation and he "goes a little wild". It goes from crazy to predictable when you remember that the battery is using chemistry to produce energy. Remember basic chemistry, want more of a reaction, add heat, and vise-versa. Less heat, less energy. Which begs the question, WHY would you choose to live anywhere with temperatures like that? I live in shorts 11 months of the year. Come on down, the weather's great.

I have a charger in both cars. I don’t recall the names, but one was under $100 and I believe the other was just over $100. These little boxes are a great piece of technology. I remember the days when the only option was to jump start the car, or take the battery over to your local gas station to have them charge the battery. That was when gas stations were actually service stations with mechanics on duty to work on your car, if needed. The good old days! Thanks for the tests on the charger boxes!

What I've appreciated about the NOCO chargers and jump starters is that they have the same connectors and user interface across their brand. You can interchange their cables, clamps, and adapters across all of their products. They are priced as a premium brand, but modularity is definitely a strong selling point for some. They have a whole range of different capacity jump starters and chargers, so I can keep a small one in my shed for the ATVs and a bigger one in my truck. The matching charger keeps all of my loose batteries fresh.

Another excellent comparison. Thank you so much. That Lokithor with the Volt meter is useful because if the original battery has an internal short to the level that it would load the jumper to the point the starter does not receive enough power, you would know that when the voltage level drops below 9 ish voltage and continues to drop over a few seconds, that removing at least the Negative cable off the battery would be needed.

Your reviews are on top. Good test and results. Thank you. I have tried a few different jump boxes and the one I like the best is NOCO GB40 which I bought in 2019 for only $67 and still works great today. I bought 2 Avapow jump boxes for $70 each and what a waste of money. Both Avapow will not jump any of vehicles including riding lawn mower. He tested the more expensive NOCO but there is many more models of NOCO and I would not need the $339 NOCO. The $70 NOCO I bought does everything I needed for six vehicles including 3-V8s

The NOCO Boost saved my bacon on Cayuga Lake in Upstate NY. My alternator completely died and we ran the battery dead. The NOCO boost was the only thing I had on the boat. I hooked it to the positive and negative and ran the boat (25 ft. Princecraft Vogue 25XT with a 150hp Merc) on the boost 5 miles back to the marina in the dark with lights. Battery technology has come quite a long way and discharging from sitting doesn’t happen quite that bad. But just like anything you should maintenance your items. When you do vehicle maintenance, include your jump pack into a routine and plug it in every so often to make sure it’s charged. I have an older Lithium jump pack that I just had to use to jump my car and the last time I had been charged was probably a year prior. It jumped me no problem.

Great job as always! My biggest concern about these jump packs is pulling them out when I need them to most just to find they're dead. Perhaps you could do a test down the road where you charge the packs up to 100%, then toss them in your trunk for 6-12 months through a variety of hot/cold temperature swings. After the wait period, you could bench test them and/or try to start the farmabego.

I'm not sure how great it is for battery life, but the rear under-seat storage in my F350 has a 12v outlet, so I keep my Noco GB150 plugged in there so it stays charged 100% all the time. It's not great for lithium to stay 100%, but a dead jump starter isn't any good either.
@MrMega200
@MrMega200 Год назад
@@adammerritt I wouldn't do that. That's fine for an lead acid battery but it's a death sentence for lithium when left alone. The circuitry will protect the battery but always being charged to 100% will stress the lithium and age the cells. Best thing to do is to use it occasionally, even as just a regular power bank and recharge it. After it gets close to 100%, stop charging and you're good to store it for up to another 6 months. For lithium, the safe storage charge is somewhere between 50% to 80%. Then once a year discharge it and recharge it to 100% so the circuitry remembers the life of the cells. Well designed products like laptops and phones have batteries that record and monitor the battery. I'd imagine the more higher priced jump starters have software built in to do that.

In the early days, 500-600A (claimed) peak current was the norm, but that couldn't start a completely dead battery. I very much like the additional capacity offered by the larger capacity models and probably wouldn't consider one with less than 1000-1500 peak amps. Definitely saved my bacon after coming back from a week long vacation only to find that the battery in my Tundra (5.7L) was completely dead. Gooloo (much older model) brought it back to life. It started my Freightliner Cascadia with 15 L diesel engine connected with two batteries only instead of four plus the jumper. Second attempt was with one only battery and the jumper and it started. Third attempt was with two batteries without jumper - I heard one click only. Additionally, the jumper was whole night in my freezer at -2F. So I am very thankful to "Project Farm" for these reviews ! Val 62👍👌

I have many NOCO products and am very happy with all of them. For jump starters, I have the GB-20 and GB-40. While I've only used the GB-40 so far, it is very easy to use and works flawlessly. I keep the GB-20 on my motorcycle but haven't needed it yet but anticipate the same level of quality. Love the videos!

@Aaron Brown.. I have (3) NOCO GB-40 Jump starters in all of my cars. I even gifted one to my dad. No problem with them at all. When I come across someone who needs a jump, there's always juice available to get the job done. I just purchased the NOCO hard case for them on Amazon. Much better than the silk type storage bag that came with them..

@@DalHarpJr I too have the hard case for my GB-40 and have no complaints with it. I wish they had a hard case for the GB-20.

My NOCO will refuse to work with a battery that have to low voltage... Same with many other jump starters I have tried. Now I drive around with a spare 95Ah battery as my "jump starter"...
@aaronbrown5252
@aaronbrown5252 Год назад
@@a64738 I think you have to have some patience and wait for the charger to say it is ready to jump. You do have to enter the jump mode for it to work properly.

I appreciate the way you measure product claim? Put it through a series of resistance test... giving us product reality! Time and money are resources most of us consumers don't have in abundance? Plus the fact, learning things the hard way, is never convenient! I don't know if RU-vid has a public service award? But I believe you've earned it if they do!

I have two NOCO units for battery charging and maintenance and they are hands down the best units I've ever used. Expensive but worth it if you use them frequently.

Same here. The charger, maintainer fixed a battery issue I had. Well worth the money. Just leave it connected until the light stops pulsating.

I remember your first jump started review with the Audew 2000a. I found them for $60ish each and bought one for each car and they really do work amazing. Even when my f250 with the 6.2l died I was able to start it up just fine. They was many years ago and technology definitely seems to be improving. I'd probably go with the gooloo from your last episode as well as this one just because of the value. It'll start up just about everything unless it doesn't have a battery lol. And it has a DC output otherwise I'd do the Lokithor since that was almost on part with the noco. Unfortunately that noco is just way to expensive. However... I know they go on major sales very often. Usually 50%+ off. So maybe if that one had a big sale like that it would be worth it over the competition.

take a look at the topdon js3000. dude started a a 68 gms truck with a 6-71 diesel with it. dead battery, truck not run in awhile, took 3 tries and a recharge between try 2 and 3, but it did it. keep in mind this a 7 liter old school mechanical injected engine.

I also purchased the Audew 2000a based on Todd's review. Just used it last week to jump start my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Temp outside was in the high 20's. The charger had been sitting in the back end for about the past 12 months. Great purchase.

Hope you do not have any trouble with your Audew as I did. After 6 months, the Audew jump starter failed. Because it was under the one year warranty period, I contacted the company and was met with resistance and lies. That continued until the warranty period expired. The parent company is Chinese and you probably already know that the Chinese are deceptive and liars.

Being of the old school mentality, I didn't think these compact jump starters would work. Now I am impressed that any of them would start a diesel. Didn't know I needed one, now I am going to add one to my shopping list.

Tbiker- I have always operated under the adage that if the jump unit was big and heavy (wet acid battery) then it was better than these small ones. Well, the small ones hold a charge better, they are substantially lighter, and more powerful. I still have my big Cat jump unit. But I carry and use my Audew much more often. You won't regret getting one of these small ones. Cheers

I was shocked as well, to find out how well they work. No more lugging around that big blue (NAPA) box! I keep one of these in all my vehicles and a few more in the shop. When I service a vehicle I swap in a freshly charged one. I've never had a problem with a unit losing charge in as much as six months between servicing. Do buy one that tested well, or at least one similar from the same brand. I've tried a few from brands I thought could be trusted and they did not work well at all. I've had good results from several different Gooloo models and from (not tested in this video) Tacklife T8 and one of their higher spec'd units. I don't know if NAPA has a good one yet. I should ask...
