Let's hope it gets better. Also, at least the characters' chemistry, tough, is still perfect, all comics nail it and it is always great seeing the characters

This is not "the usual stuff". In the Avatar Universe, this is the first time for our heroes to actually be confronted with this kind of oppression and divisiveness between benders and nonbenders. I think it is clever writing that unemployment because of rapid industrialization caused the first triads. And this villain doesn't want to "watch the world burn". She believes that what she is doing is right, and that with benders in control, the city and her family will flourish and progress in the right direction. I think it is an intelligent storyline so far, and I am interested for what volume two will bring. The two things i do not like are the art-style(very off-putting and sometimes downright ugly) and some of the dialogue; Gene Luen Yang was way better at this job regarding writing witty and clever banter.

I'm pretty sure they will when the characters get old enough. Aren't they still like 14 right now? They need a few years still. If they still continue to publish the comics, it'll get there eventually.

that they are making a comic book I'm not sure if it's going to become one of the meeting but I think it's going to be multiple Comics of the continue making call mix I think eventually they're going to make this as a new show or a new series called the new world because that we just fitted them that Everything Has Changed there's been a continuous pattern has been going on in the Comics if you watch them that Everything Has Changed 7 is different so it's gonna be a new show or a new season if if the consumer can comment but they're making two new ones with the stuff but those two new ones I think I'll just be that could let you make that a new animated series I wanted to make a series or

There was a nice moment where Aang and Katara visit the island that will one day be Air Temple Island and she gives him support and encouragement. I agree it would be awesome to see when he proposed to her.

Bruh i read the previous comics and was so pissed when i read this. I saw the new artwork and had a feeling they wouldnt be the the same. And tbh it changes the vibe of their entire relationship when theres not that supportive "sweetie". But to be fair it makes their relationship feel more like in the show.

Mister Berzerk yeah I feel like in this comic Aang and Katara are friends bc they don’t even hug or says sweetie. I really hope the next book the writer gets Kataang back

@@gigiippolito7121 Yah it feels like its back in the show where theres that supportive tension between them. Vs in the previous comics where they were in the full out relationship mode. I hope they bring the old artstyle back aswell. Its probably the nostalgic side in me. But this artwork was gross in my opinion

@Kathrina He is easily in my top3 and I still think he doesn't need as much focus. In my opinion Smoke and Shadow was rather boring for the most part. Thing that saved that comic for me is Zuko and Azula meeting again.

I don't mind the plot or the art style either. However, I understand why others wouldn't be more forgiving. we have gotten used to the previous comic's more clear and neater art style, but it can't be helped. The plot is kinda obvious depending on where the writers go with it, but I just find the whole situation as an inevitable challenge that Aang would face as the Avatar whether it's a cliche to the story or not, so it's really the characters along with their interaction and actions that'll carry the story on in my opinion. So long no one is out of character for any questionable reason it should be fine.

I know the feeling. This is kind of art is a complete mockery to the original art of avatar.

There are different art styles within comics and this one looks more natural. I like this over the previous comics where they looked too perfectly stenciled. I see unique frames in these comic panels over the others.

This is more realistic. Anything anime is dumb. At least now they’re eyes aren’t the size of their foreheads

Yea I thought it was gonna be yudao as well because I remember in the beginning narrative of korra, Tenzin said aang and Zuko turned the Fire Nation colonies into the republic city. But I think he also said that the capital was republic city. So maybe yudao is still the place in general where benders and non benders can live together but this little industry is what becomes the capital, where korra takes place

Well duh. They give it away at the landscape as their landing.

Overall, I like much all comics, but my favorites are The Promise, The Search, The Rift and North And South, specially North And South

@@floricel_112 Yeah I feel like this new art mimics the show's animation more closely. The old art deviated too much for my liking and felt more generic "comicbooky". And it's amazing how in this comic you can clearly tell that Aang is 16/17 years old.

I'm just super grateful Katara and Aang didn't call each other "sweetie" at all in this comic
