Avatar Korra vs Fire Lord Ozai! || Who Would Win!? 

As everyone has said the one thing Korra doesn't lack is combat ability and raw power. It would have been a much bloodier battle for sure.

Korra isn't like Aang. Aang is about a spiritual journey to heal a world. Korra is bringing The Myth into The Modernist World. Korra in her prime ain't Superman, but, I'm sorry, she is A TANK.

Gonna have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. Between korra being much more willing to fight than aang and utilizing fire much more proficiently, an ozai/sozins comet fight with her would have ended MUCH faster than aangs, if only because she'd have no qualms ending him in similar situations as was handed to aang if he wasn't so hesitant to end a life. Not to mention we have no confirmation that korra's avatar state is any weaker than aangs. Actually, being able to beat off the red lotus gang while chained up and mercury poisoned probably completely proves it isn't. I don't see ozai making it out of this fight with his head on his shoulders, lmao

I feel like you’re pulling from different versions of Korra to put her at a disadvantage. For example, using her final appearance to point to her missing the techniques of her past lives, but using her first appearance to point to her spiritual ineptitude. You can’t have it both ways

Actually, Korra knows how to energybend on her own, and does not need Aang's spirit to do so. She did it in season 4, when the spirit vines captured some airbenders and civilians; she used energybending to release them.

You think korra killing Ozai would mess her up? She was gonna kill tarlok if he didn’t blood blend her, she was fully going to kill/ burn him so I think if you’re doing these vs be a little bit more objective because Ozai in my opinion wouldn’t defeat any avatar because of one major thing the avatar state. Korra’s preferred element is fire...she’s beaten the embodiment of evil 1v1 twice...and a 12 year old beat Ozai...yeah Korra murdering him. Also Korra *CAN* energy bend and spirit bend. Her durability compared to aangs is astronomical, falling 100+ feet only to get back up and keep fighting. She has prime Ravaa meaning her avatar state is dramatically much stronger then the past avatars (also that’s why she lost against vatuu since Ravaa was too small to actually compete with him)

Korra can also Metlabend if I'm not mistaken. So, depending on where the fight would happen she could also use that to her advantage.

Korra. Hands down. Korra was much more proficient in Firebending than Aang, and would have no problem using her full strength. Also, Aang's weakest element was Fire so he mostly used the other three elements when fighting Ozai, rather than fight Fire with Fire. I'd argue that Fire is Korra strongest element, since she uses Firebending more than any other element. Korra would been able to taken advantage of the Comet's power, and could have deflected Ozai's fire.

I have a theory that during Katara’s fight with Hamma, Yue was giving Katara the extra advantage.

Ozai's main opportunity would be his lightning. It's extremely quick on the draw and lethal, and Korra isn't stated to know how to redirect it. However, I think her mobility and evasive ability were sorely underrepresented in this video: against Tarrlok, she dodged a barrage of ice daggers with her pure athleticism, only suffering a few scrapes; against Unalaq, she was flying on a air tornado at very high speeds and keeping up with his waterbending onslaught; and against Kuvira, she was able to evade her mecha laser beam that was tearing through skyscrapers like butter also with her air tornado, and fly up to a skyscraper with fire jets in seconds while carrying four enormous boulders. None of this was performed with the Avatar State. And I haven't yet mentioned that lightning can be blocked with a quick wall of earth. Being fair to both parties, I won't deny the possibility of an Ozai victory with a lightning shot - fights are random by their nature and anything can happen. But I'm more inclined to believe Korra would be able to either dodge or block it a majority of the time, and counter with her own onslaught of all the elements. While Ozai has done very well against an Avatar before, context is necessary: under Sozin's Comet, fire becomes the most powerful and relevant element in deciding battles. Basically, Aang's weakest element was the one he was meant to now lean on, and the effectiveness of all his other elements that he was more proficient in, were mitigated. If Sozin's Comet is taken away, all the elements become much more balanced, and Ozai, to me, doesn't have anything concrete showing that he could defeat Korra, who is an absolute master in all four (yes, even air in the later seasons and comics). If Sozin's Comet is factored in, the amplification applies both ways. Korra is a much, much better firebender than Aang was when he faced Ozai - a stillshot of some of her feats reveals that her fire blasts are the same size as Zuko and Azula's _during_ the Comet, so you can only imagine how powerful she would become if the Comet boost was applied to her. She is effectively a fully realized Avatar, a physical prodigy since age 4, with years to hone her firebending talent on top of the other elements, and an official stamp of mastery from the White Lotus as early as the very first episode of Book 1. While the Comet would make this match closer, I don't think it'd be enough to turn the tides in Ozai's favor. All in all, this would be a very close match, and Ozai definitely can win with his lightning, but I don't think it's the most probable outcome. Even without the Avatar State, I favor Korra's chances more. And with the Avatar State, she'd obviously curbstomp him.

Energy Bending (given by Aang) - Cosmic Energy of the Universe/ Giant Astral Projection with Water bending + Energy Blasts 6.Avatar State (no past lives but a massive boost from Raava due to her size because of Vaatu's defeat) -Giant/Full powered Raava's boost. (Take note that Giant/ Full powered Vaatu's boost + Unalaq's mastery of water bending alone was able to compete and beat Korra in the Avatar State despite having mastery of 3 out of 4 elements) 7. Physique/ Martial Arts - Shown to be able to pack quite a punch, kicks, lift a person with one arm and knock people off balance) - Tank Energy blast, poison, rock/metal/water whip to the stomach, walkthrough fire, and shrug it off. Conclusion: Korra might not have the lightning redirection, all of the past avatar's skills, seismic sense, and bending removal which are the main reasons for Ozai's defeat but she does have metal bending, mastery of the 3 elements, cosmic energy, and Full powered Raava's boost. With the helped of her own Avatar State, she managed to block a spirit beam that can be argued to be stronger than Comet-boost Ozai's fire bending or lightning bending. Korra's Avatar state lacked the knowledge and skills of all previous avatars but it does have the highest bending potential it can give. For how can I see Korra winning the fight is either by overpowering him with all 4 elements in the avatar state or restricting his movement by metal bending. I intended this to be short but it looked like it lacked detail.

a lot of people think that the avatar states past lives are its biggest strength. they forget that korra is cannonicly the strongest avatar because of the fact that she vanquished vaatu and raava grew to an enourmous size meaning that she was more powerful than ever. meaning that when they fused again that made korra the strongest avatar there is and ever will be. that said, korra in the avatar state would be more powerful than aang in the avatar state.

Korra under Sozins comet would be epic. I'd say it would be a blow for blow type of fight(like heavyweight boxers/mma going against each other). It'd be a fireworks show. Where Korra wins through KO and he wouldn't survive.

Disagree Korra would beat him easily, even without the avatar state. Korra is a trained fighter and loves it. Even during book 1 (when she didn’t have air bending) she integrated the 3 elements so fluidly in a way Aang never did at the end of his series. Even during his fight with ozai (before the avatar state) he mostly used air and earth bending. ( He only water bent once and fire twice).

Biased and very inaccurate judgement of korra. As an avatar. She had more determination to sever her role than Anng did. Also you seem to just dislike her because you probably disliked the storyline and the series. In my opinion LOK gave much more meaningful and stronger influence on young adults than ATLA as a series did. Korra wouldn't have even borthered fighting Oazi, she would have just incapacitated him or maybe even killed him as soon as she could. If it was she in replace of Anng.

Korra takes it. Her firebending is way greater than Aang's and she will definately use it alot, is a great airbender by the end of the series, is a way better waterbender and a pretty good earthbender. Also that kuvira fight never ended, and Korra had gotten more hits on Kuvira than kuvira did on her. Not to mention kuvira is the second best metalbender in the world in a room made almost entirely of metal.

Korra would destroy Ozai without even needing the avatar state

On title alone I’d say Korra no competition, her problem was being incapable of being calm, discipline and balanced like an Air Bender ideally is, but in raw power to crush and enemy she’s a tank. Ozai also fought with raw power and brute force his drive was always power he valued his own children by their ability and little else. Korra would simply out beast mode him even season 1 episode 1 Korra who hadn’t mastered Air, she’d drop a lake on him then crush him with a boulder. Azula (pre mental breakdown) on the other hand would almost definitely beat Korra, Azula recognized when she couldn’t brute force an enemy she’s perfectly okay using psychological tricks, trapping an enemy, allying with then betraying them. Where Ozai wanted and used power Azula wanted victory and she would use any means necessary. Korra’s extremely weak to mental games which just happens to be Azula’s specialty.

The only reason it was a fight at all in the original show was because Aang was holding back as to not kill Ozai. Korra would have no such restrictions. Ozai flies in, and gets splatted between two Earth-bent boulders before he even lands.

Great video but Im sick of ppl underestimating Korra. 1)Avatar Korra has grown to be one of the most spiritually tuned Avatars that we've encountered. We just need to really look at Book 2, whiich most fans just love to hate because thats become the norm. Korra learned the subskill Spirit bending which if you really notice....Unalaq did not formally teach her the technique - being Spiritually 'opened' by her previous incarnation, Avatar Aang is what I believe allowed her to master the skill. When she began her journey to open the portal in the South, she tried to cleanse a spirit and it was rough but watching the frames of animation showed that she was actually changing the spirit's colour but she got overwhelmed by the number of spirits attacking and was unsuccessful. This has already become a paragraph that would lead to an essay if I dont make my point now - in book 2 Korra threatened the water tribe magistrate saying she'd 'take his life if he takes her family's'. Long story short, ask yourself if Ozai could handle Kyoshi...I already hear a resounding 'No chance in fiery hell' so imagine an Avatar who is straight up a Kyoshi 2.0 who can spiritbend? Ozai was pure evil...much like Dark Avatar Unalaq so I dont see why Korra would not be able to do what Unalaq attempted against Jinora and later Korra herself. Spiritbending will straight up destroy a soul and I think its all but confirmed that she can do it. All that aside, Korra restored Lin's bending....Aang/herself already imparted that ability on her. People need to realize than in both the Avatar and real world, there is light and dark. Korra can decimate most of her foes in a 1V1 if she isnt struggling with crippling PTSD. What do people even want from Korra? She straight up restored an entire lost civilization of airbenders by risking her life and no one seems to even give a damn so what can my long winded comment even hope to do. Here's to hoping everyone retroactively sees Korra's contribution to the Avtarverse posthumously when the new earthbender Avatar finally shows up.....

Did we ever really get confirmation that Ozai was all that powerful? I know he was pretty powerful during the comet but we also see what ten fire benders doing the same trick he does. I think the big issue is that Ozai is the final boss so we tend to over inflate his power to make the final battle that much bigger. But really Aang was just not that strong before Avatar State, and once he went into the AS it was over, Ozai had no chance of winning. So no I think Korra would take Ozai with little issue beyond what she has in any big fight. Roku would ended Ozai effortlessly without AS, we know Kyoshi would and could have without AS. Aang spend the first half of that fight being afraid of Ozai and afraid to use his full power. He was pulling his punches and running, 100% defense. Once he hit AS he stopped playing defense and Ozai immediately fell apart and ran. Korra would not fight in the defense, she would get in close, evade, deflect, and deliver her own blows. Ozai has exactly 1 fight on camera and he got stomped once the opponent got serious. We need to stop pretending Ozai was the best Firebender that ever lived, he wasn't pretty sure Iroh or Jeong Jeong could have taken Ozai on a day that was not the comet and they are both much older than he.

This video made me realize that Avatar Korra is so OP as a bender that the writers had to consistently find ways to hinder her abilities when facing opponents she should have easily murked 🤔🤔 (bloodbending, spirit mojo, poison, trauma, ect)

8:11: wait but we saw Aang do exactly what the lion turtle did, use energybending to give Korra the knowledge of energybending and entering the Avatar State. I think that even after book 2, Korra still had knowledge of energybending and that she only never used it coz; 1. She never needed to. Aang took away Ozai's bending because he was too dangerous with it. Korra didn't take anyone's bending after that coz she didn't really need to and the containment was reliable enough and wasn't that dangerous as in the scenario of Ozai. 2. Every time I see a comment which says she's gonna murdered him or she's a beast i instantly think of Avatar kyoshi. Because I believe some people are mixing up their personalities. As we seen in the show Avatar Korra might been somewhat of a tommy boy but she wasn't unstoppable juggernaut if anything she was Too Proud in the beginning then humble by end I think that was the point of her character even if it was sort of a mess and all over the place. Unlike Avatar kyoshi who took a lightning point Blank with all her metallic get up on just a minute later stood up like it was nothing. "Rise of kyoshi". Avatar Korra no question. As much as I like Aang better, Korra had no strings attached plus Una-Vaatu and Amon were arguably much stronger than Ozai (Ozai's comet powered firebending doesn't mean anything if Amon can take it away). Korra had no strings when it came to combat. The only reason Kuvira had the edge on her at first is because 1. Korra had JUST recovered from PTSD and 2. Korra was in a nasty political situation where just killing her wouldn't do anything. Korra takes this.

Now I have a few gripes with this battle idea you came up with, mainly with Ozai winning against base Korra. Now I would be down to debate this but my first gripe is that I believed you underestimate Korra in terms of her raw power and combat ability. While Ozai yes would probably be more aggressive than avatar Korra in the fight, if this takes place on Sozins Comet he is fighting against an avatar who at the bare minimum has Mastered THREE elements. Fire, Water, and Earth. And if we wanna take Jinora's question to Tenzin if Korra would be receiving her Air nomad mastery tattoos as a sign Korra Mastered Airbending then that is All four elements. Which is a strict contrast from Aang Mastering Two Elements, having a basic knowledge of Firebending, and being an advanced user of Earth bending. So off the bat, Korra has a much bigger advantage over aang. Furthermore, I would argue Korra can be quite tactical when she needs to be, I mean look at her fight with Kulviera at the end of season 4. But that is not to say Ozai would be stomped. I could see in base form the fight going either way, but the moment we introduce the avatar state it is over. The power boost it gives Korra would be so much that Ozai would be overwhelmed by Korra. But I would love to have a conversation about this debate as it is actually rather interesting!

How have I missed this vid in all the years I've been browsing and view Avatar videos?! I mostly agree with the assessments, save for a couple of points: - When Korra lost access to her past lives, she only lost access to their overall knowledge. It could be argued, though, that many of the techniques they used would be common knowledge anyway, so Korra may not be missing out so much in combat ability. It's also not certain that she lost the knowledge on techniques she already learned from them (i.e., restoring bending). She also didn't really lose any power, either. In fact, I think the writers mentioned that Korra's Avatar State may be even stronger after losing access to her past lives. - I'd argue that Korra wasn't fighting at full strength in the Book 3 finale. After all, she had around a gallon of poison in her system. - Korra's firebending may at least as powerful as Ozai's while she's in the Avatar State. Remember that she used a massive fireblast to free herself after the Dark Avatar pinned her under dozens of feet of ice. No one else in the franchise has ever put out that much literal firepower _that_ quickly. And this was in arctic conditions and under all that ice. Imagine what type of firebending AS Korra could do under Sozin's Comet. - Finally, lol at Korra being traumatized by potentially having to kill Ozai. This is the same girl that literally vanquished her own evil uncle, and the only real guilt she showed from it was the realization that she killed her cousins' father.

Korra can take a beating and keep fighting, and despite being from the southern water tribe, Korra probably utilizes firebending the most out of all her elements. She would probably kill Ozai in that fight. Also, Korras avatar states power is debatably stronger than any avatar ever, in the beginnings episodes in LOK, Ravaa says when light or darkness grows, the opposite gets weaker. Well, Korra vanquished Vatu, so wouldn’t Ravaas light spirit be at it’s most powerful?

Naw korra could've beat ozai easily and knock him out then put him in a similar place to were they kept combustion woman (forgot her name) but anyway korra could've beat him very easily

I'd say Korra would probably win. Ozai has the advantage when Korra is not in the avatar state, due to Sozin's comet and him being a better fire bender. But the Avatar state, even with just the Raava power boost, would more than make up for it. The Avatar state allowed Wan to beat a maximum-power Vaatu despite Vaatu winning by a long shot before he was permanently bonded with her, and I think the Avatar state will do the same for Korra against Ozai. The main thing that could give Ozai the win is lightning. But even that's speculative: it's quite conceivable that the white lotus taught Korra how to redirect lightning. If she wasn't trained in that, it would be a close-to-fair fight. Korra won't have Aang-level evasion, but could still block lightning with boulders and water (kind of like how Katara blocked Azula's lightning in the AtLA finale). Plus, lightning actually takes a few seconds to load, and the Avatar State can beat Vaatu's laser beam, which is more powerful and has a shorter loading time (though it is less precise). But on the other hand, just take a look at the sheer spread of Ozai's lightning. Due to lightning and Ozai's sheer power, I'd say Ozai still has a 25% chance of winning. 8:04 - her not being able to energybend. I believe you made a mistake there. If that's true, then why was Korra able to energy bend Jinora and the others out of the sprit vines in the middle of Book 4? Raava told her "you must bend the energy within" to free them. So no, Korra can energybend on her own accord. Still, I agree that if Korra wins, she'd end him. Aang went out of the Avatar state right when he was about to kill Ozai, specifically because he thought it wasn't right. Season 4 Korra would probably not kill a defenseless opponent in cold blood like Kyoshi might have on occasion, but her moral compass is not as resolute as Aang and won't make her leave the Avatar state before the battle is done. Would it mess her up? No. Because what did it take to mess her up? Mercury inside her body. Physical/chemical damage that almost killed her. Never something that she did to one of her enemies, least of all the "big bad" that Korra's aggression was probably designed to beat.

Ummm excuse me? Can we stop the Aang wank. Aang when he fought Ozai didn’t master earth and fire if I remember right. And even if he did Korra was a fighter. She could take hits and she always fought people that were insanely strong. Amon (who Aang wouldnt beat without the avatar state) Zaheer and the evil avatar. Aang was strong but without the avatar state he wasn’t that strong. Korra didn’t seem much stronger when she went into the avatar state because her raw power was just that great

I feel like this comment section is filled with people overestimating Korra and underestimating ozai. I see 2 versions of this fight. Pre Broken Cycle Korra vs Ozai (1) Post Broken Cycle Korra vs Ozai (2) Pre Broken The creators of the show have said that when it came to raw firebending Ozai was the strongest in the show. (There are some snippets of Azula surpassing him in the comics, but that's irrelevant). I think the fight would go different from Aang in the sense that Korra would come full force against Ozai, but let's not forgot Ozai would do the same. Apart from the avatar state we've never seen Korra perform exceptional bending feats. Not to mention Ozai is smart as well. Azula got it from somewhere. The reason he was so aggressive was that he knew Aang was passive, however, if he realizes he's on the losing end I'm sure he can come up with a smarter strategy. The only way I see Korra winning is through the Avatar State. Assuming she entires the Avatar state she curb stomps Ozai (Possibly even harder than Aang). In conclusion, I think Korra and Ozai would fight around equal (perhaps Ozai overwhelming her a bit) and he would only lose hard once she taps into the Avatar State. Post Broken Cycle Korra(2) I'm sorry but I just don't see Korra winning this. by a huge margin. Without Avatar State she'd probably be a little < or equal to Ozai. When she enters the avatar state I'm sure Ozai could still put up a good fight. The strongest bending feat from Korra (Post Season 2 Excluding Energy Bending) is probably throwing that giant bolder at Zaheer while she was in the avatar state. Let's not forget that King Bumi was able to throw houses and even a Giant Statue. I think it would be hard-fought, but in this case, she either wins by very little or is defeated.

8:03 I'm sorry but korra isn't spiritually inept and is actually the most spiritual of any avatar based solely on feats. also by simple logic, if she can energy bend, she can also take bending away so yes she can take ozai's bending. people may try to say that she has no showings but if aang knew how to do it without any former knowledge of the ability then korra def does if she knows it can be done and one more thing, she didn't lost this ability as she can energy bend in season 4 as well.
