What I respect the most about this is they just didn't play the songs note for note on acoustic instruments. They recomposed the songs to fit the sound of their instruments.
Johannes's voice is so amazing and versatile. From hitting wicked high notes, to singing softly as he does here, he's just so amazing and talented. Truly one of a kind. And the rest of the band is hella talented too! Not to mention they're super sweet. Can't wait to see you boys again!
Damn. Sounds like a freakshow feels like two songs. Oroginal is so headbanging. Acoustic is like a relaxing western lullaby. So beautiful either way. Love their sound.
The whole band looks some varying degree of uncomfortable and I noticed it immediately. It's pretty obvious when bands aren't diggin the interviewers, I always feel bad for em (the bands).
Yepp, on another occasion they somehow managed to mess that up and only got him a chair. He then found somewhere a neon green plastic bucket in the form of a pumpkin. Worked out too. (it's the accoustic verion of 'The Eagle Has Landed' for Q102 Rock Room Sessions, in case of interest.)
Such an underrated and under appreciated band. Johanness’ vocals are always amazing and shows that he can actually sing. Plus he’s an excellent showman. Great band
Wow..... I normally don't sit thru these acoustic versions of metal music, but, I went thru this, and boy am I glad. As heavy and dark of a song as Bloody Angel is, that was incredible without the electronic, aide, I guess you can say. Incredible. Scandinavia and Germany, KINGS of METAL. Edit: prior to Smells like a freakshow, I didn't know this song was in this. Now, that I've officially watched the FULL vid, I gotta say, AvataR, I truly believe, hearing the acoustics, and one of the ever so few acoustic versions I sit thru, has unprecedented talent, skill, and crowd apeal. Crowd apeal, like, even the acoustic, just incredible.
I was so let down when he said "but ive got tormentors for a lifetime" and it wasnt a long clean johannes scream, then i remembered it was a full acoustic version and they werent memeing
I swear to god, johannes not being abel to pull out the power of his voice cause the radio cast is prob. for non-metal fans made me sad. The radio station is fairly fucked up for getting someone like Johannes on a show and telling him he cant use his actual singing voice cause seriously, whats the point of getting him on the show to sing then and no, he definetly didnt sing using his regular voice on his own decision. Its bloody johannes ffs, he loves to scream.
I am buying all your music. You have do much talent and sound so great. Your my favorite. If I had a last wish, it would be to meet all of you and go to a show. Bless you all. Please be careful out on the road. Butterfly
Acoustic SLAFS sounds like an old west series Opening where the main characters hunt cryptids and sell them in a blackmarket while the sheriffs try and found them to put them on jail.
