LVT It wasn't *just* Rev. Sure, the Rev cared about it a lot, but what makes this so good was you could tell, *everyone* wanted this to be beautiful in its own way.
Also cant forget they got the guys from Oingo Boingo in there to help out with arrangement for the brass sections. Its The Rev's baby, but as they say it takes a family to raise a baby and everyone came together as a family to raise this masterpiece.
One of the most well crafted instrumentals I have heard from this band. Everything syncs so well, the orchestra knows exactly what they're conveying and works together perfectly, same for the band themselves. Easily one of their best songs.
Many speak ill of Avenged simply because they do not follow the pattern of metal that people call "true metal". This is magnificent. Avenged creates splendid and creative songs. Not we see something similar elsewhere. Music is an art and Avenged can merge all that is best in it. Love it or Die.
@@hazardgaminghg122 Forgive my melodramatic ass, I was an edgy 12 year old who knew nothing about music. As an adult, I agree, they're still real fucking good. edit: deleted my original comment, too embarrassing
In my opinion, this is their greatest work of art. It's just perfect in every way. I'll miss the way The Rev wrote songs. He was one of the best songwriters of all time in my opinion. foREVer in our hearts.
Before the story begins, is it such a sin for me to take what's mine until the end of time We were more than friends before the story ends And I will take what's mine, create what God would never design Our love had been so strong for far too long, I was weak with fear that something would go wrong, before the possibilities came true, I took all possibility from you Almost laughed myself to tears, conjuring her deepest fears Must have stabbed her fifty fucking times, I can't believe it, Ripped her heart out right before her eyes, Eyes over easy, eat it eat it eat it She was never this good in bed even when she was sleepin' now she's just so perfect I've never been quite so fucking deep in it goes on and on and on, I can keep you lookin' young and preserved forever, with a fountain to spray on your youth whenever 'Cause I really always knew that my little crime would be cold that's why I got a heater for your thighs and I know, I know it's not your time but bye, bye and a word to the wise when the fire dies you think it's over but it's just begun but baby don't cry You had my heart, at least for the most part 'cause everybody's gotta die sometime we fell apart let's make a new start 'cause everybody's gotta die sometime yeah but baby don't cry Possibilities I'd never considered, are occurring the likes of which I'd never heard, Now an angry soul comes back from beyond the grave, to repossess a body with which I'd misbehaved Smiling right from ear to ear Almost laughed herself to tears Must have stabbed him fifty fuckin times I can't believe it Ripped his heart out right before his eyes Eyes over easy Eat it eat it eat it Now that it's done I realize the error of my ways I must venture back to apologize from somewhere far beyond the grave I gotta make up for what I've done 'Cause I was all up in a piece of heaven while you burned in hell, no peace forever 'Cause I really always knew that my little crime would be cold that's why I got a heater for your thighs and I know, I know it's not your time but bye, bye and a word to the wise when the fire dies you think it's over but it's just begun but baby don't cry You had my heart, at least for the most part 'Cause everybody's gotta die sometime, we fell apart Let's make a new start 'Cause everybody's gotta die sometime yeah But baby don't cry I will suffer for so long (What will you do, not long enough) To make it up to you (I pray to God that you do) I'll do whatever you want me to do (Well then I'll grant you one chance) And if it's not enough (If it's not enough, If it's not enough) If it's not enough (Not enough) Try again (Try again) And again (And again) Over and over again We're coming back, coming back We'll live forever, live forever Let's have wedding, have a wedding Let's start the killing, start the killing Do you take this man in death for the rest of your unnatural life? (Yes, I do.) Do you take this woman in death for the rest of your unnatural life? (I do) I now pronounce you... 'Cause I really always knew that my little crime would be cold that's why I got a heater for your thighs and I know, I know it's not your time but bye, bye And a word to the wise when the fire dies you think it's over but it's just begun but baby don't cry You had my heart, at least for the most part 'Cause everybody's gotta die sometime, we fell apart Let's make a new start 'Cause everybody's gotta die sometime yeah My baby don't cry
I was nine when the album dropped, I was a bit disappointed at the time, with it drifting away from the City Of Evil sound, but I still liked it. Now I love it so much, and don’t know how I didn’t like it more as a kid.
As you grow your taste in music grows mature as well and becomes more diverse. I was 12 when I found a7x, I didn't like their 2nd album back then, but now, 12 years later, I came back and got addicted to it.
Fun fact, this was originally supposed to be part of a Halloween EP but the label scrapped it and told them they’d be absolutely fucking crazy not to put this on the actual album
@@pietpadda593 it's actually true from what I heard on RU-vid about and interview with me shadows from a7x he said that Jimmy 'the rev' Sullivans death was accidental
The rev is fuckin genius, this song he create, he wrote the lyric, he do some instrumental like piano part, and also the composer, and also wicked drummer, hmmm no one can replace you in avenged sevenfold, dear jimmy
+Jay superstion He meant what was the sad part of the song lol. That would be the parts instrumentally where the brass cuts out. The use of primarily stringed instruments creates a softer sound, which with a minor key makes it sound sad.
I really hope this isn't too much to ask for, but please PLEASE PLEASE could you upload this same instrumental but WITH the choir chanting vocals? that would be tremendously epic
It’s freaking sick. Just discovered this song yesterday and it’s great. I found this band in like 2010 and forgot about them. Came back around 2020 and rediscovered my favorite song MIA.
this has to be the best instrumental version of this song that i've heard, best in that it literally sounds like the song minus the vocals rather than a reconstruction of the song with midi instruments, awesome work!
No shame- I literally just got so excited suddenly and teared up over this instrumental. I have NEVER teared up over music before- I mean, if it's a sad song, maybe, but not really. This is just so good that I started tearing up over it and I'm still amazed by that.
dadiocoleman not necessarily necrophillia, when the lyrics go: "our love was far too strong for far too long, *I was weak with fear that something would go wrong"* it gives more of a reason, not a good one, but it isn't necrophillia the way I see it.
@@bIister.agent-rar Necrophillia, as in having sex with a corpse. They hint at this all through the song like "that's why I got a heater for her thighs". Maybe you're thinking of Narcissism?
Omg bro the wood winds and brass in this song are so awesome I look up to the person playing the bari sax in this it’s so awesome love the sound and the whole song in general but omg🤩
Have you heard any band or artist that puts more effort into there music than avenged sevenfold no it's crazy how underrated they are they should be top 3 all time bands
a few sections kinda remind me of psychonauts when you're either in sasha's mind or you're in the meat circus level. would love to find an a7x cd with just instrumental versions of their songs.
