Did they say that somewhere? I would want to talk about the Rev as much as possible. Remembering him shouldn't be painful, it should be joyful. I think it would be painful to never bring him up again. It would be sad if a man like that was forgotten.
m0t0rcade Obviously the Rev would never be forgotten. The Rev lives on through all their music, and there's no way they'd forget him. I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to be reminded about my dead best friend who I'd never be able to see again. They haven't said that, but you can easily tell they don't really enjoy talking about their dead best friend. And even if no one brought Rev up anymore, he would NEVER be forgotten. He was too much of an inspirational drummer to the world that he's literally in the books as one of the greatest drummers in the world. And the band can get the pride and joy from just knowing they knew the Rev.
Syn is always so sarcastic in interviews and it is hilarious! It's like every time he gets interviewed...he ends up not even caring and he is just like...kill me now
MajikMan 123 It might just be cause he's played it too much, and the guitar parts aren't that fun. Plus, the solo comes so early in the song, and after that it's just repetition excepting the bridge. Even when the key switches it's still the same monotonous lead part. Rhythmically the lead is boring to play. Or maybe he just doesn't like the song, but I think it has to do with overplaying it and it not being that much fun to play.
I thinker's cause of the chorus haha. He's referenced that song so many times recently as "how not to write a song" cause the chorus is too over-the-top without being substantial. It's just pop in the middle of heavy and it makes no sense haha
He's said he doesn't like it because he's not able to move around ad much as he'd like to when playing it live. He's pretty much confined to his mic the entire time.
Can you blame them. Their best friend died horribly and yet at every single Q&A they go to he gets brought up and they have to talk about him "for the fans." I'd be fucking pissed and stop doing Q&A's. Or I'd at least have people's questions censored so that I wouldn't have to hear about the rev.
Electric Nick i dont. It's would annoying to have that wound opened at every Q&A. Its expected unfortunately but At the same time like you said they should tell the interviewer not to bring it up.
I just wanna stress to you how it was a fan's question she was asking. Sure the Rev has been gone for a while, but only in the last couple of years have the guys in the band had kids.
She Wolf She used to be an ex sourcefed host and she was annoying as shit there like she would always talk down to people and just interrupt people a fuck ton and not let them finish their sentences before she would tell them they were wrong and also she is a feminazi
The cringe of bringing up Jimmy in the interview is real especially the current drummer is with them! It's demoralizing for Brooks' part. What's the point of having Brooks if they keep reminding them about The Rev and how awesome drummer he was than Brooks?
...No one said Brooks was a worse drummer than Rev? The guy was a legend but Brooks is amazing, too! I didn't know people had to stop talking about the Rev, knowing he was their best friend, just 'cause there's a new drummer in the band...
@@benevolentsoul5224 It's not that they should stop talking about The Rev, but I think that they are tired of being reminded of their dead friend all the time. It's can also be kind of inappropriate at times.
Brooks was one of the Revs favorite drummers. He looked up to the whole wackerman family amongst others obviously. And Brooks respects the Revs legacy he left behind. I would be willing to bet all of my money that Brooks doesn't mind questions about the Rev etc. He just can't answer them because he wasn't friends with Jimmy and can't speak for him. As far as I'm concerned Brooks is definitely a better drummer than Jimmy, but Jimmy is just a better musician overall. He was a genius of a song writer and could sing, play piano, play guitar, and play drums.
I don’t think this demoralized Brooks as their current drummer, especially because he was one of Jimmy’s influenced. No one said Brooks is worse than Jimmy was. I think it was just insensitive to bring it up.
Beast and the Harlot was the first song I ever listened to from Avenged and ever since I became obsessed with that song, all their other songs and overall the band itself 😍
Yass a little piece of Heaven was what got me into them. I caught that song at the end of their LA concert on TV and that was so awesome how into it they were and i just spent hours looking up everything they've ever done. Now they are my absolute Favorite band, like there is such a huge gap between them and my second favorite.
what they said ^ as he's stated before in other interviews, he doesn't like being tied to the mic so much. he likes being able to move around. plus they play that song a lotttttt so it must really wear on him if he doesn't like the performing aspect of it
He also said in the breakdown video he had a really hard time playing the solo live for a long ass time, in the studio it was spliced together because he couldn’t do it in one take
J.J.Drummer wrong. i’ve been watching bree since before her sourcefed days and that’s her personality, she just has a flirty personality. nothing wrong with that.
the vibe of present a7x kind of makes me feel like their time has passed and their heydays are long gone... shit it feels sad 😭 (reminiscing some nostalgic mid 2000s thoughts) ... lol, but yeah thats how it feels like... like they're not "part of the scene" anymore cause nowadays the kids listen to garbage like Justin bieber and greyson chance bullshit. 😂😧
Doesn't help that every fucking interview they bring it up. "Hey, what would you tell your kids about your dead best friend?" What kind of question is that? Instant mood-killer.
Nah the interviewer didn’t do this right. When I met the guys, Syn did NOT look or even sound annoyed. He was sooooo sweet and funny. Brooks was quiet tho and hella nice.
I agree that interviewers should be a little more respectful with all these questions about Jimmy...like okay I get it that interviewers want to make a hot topic of conversation but I am pretty sure it still really hurts to talk about him. Idk just my op
You can tell when the host is a joke, and it's easy to see why Sevenfold is careless in this. They want a real interview with people that care and respect what they do, this host was laughable
Johnny has GREAT taste in horror. 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street is also my favorite. Heather Langenkamp and Robert England really do that film justice
after they already made their new songs, they still choose their old album favourite songs. i still choose remenissions and trashed and scattered. but their new songs still awesome..
