Super VIP, the Russo's are definitely two of the best directors in the biz. They understand the characters at there core and put them in the proper scenarios for the best story telling possible.
obsidian What they really specialize in is finding vulnerability in their characters. Think of every MCU film they've directed and you'll see that no one comes off as being untouchable by their opponents. Every one of them has a psychological or emotional flaw that enemies can and do exploit.
Reg Gonzalez I agree. I was thinking similar stuff when the film came out. Starlord has been through some seriously bad times and his emotional response was totally believable to me.
This interview needs to be 30 minuets longer. I love hearing these guys talk about their work, their so passionate about these characters and these movies.
They made the right choice not having Cap's big entrance in Wakanda. That would not have fit the scenario, using Thor however was the perfect choice for that moment.
MidnightWingz cap isn't powerfull to make that such a important impactfull entrance like Thor did, his entrance by the train station was good enough for him, to give hope when his teammates are down, while Thor litterlay saved everyone in wakanda until the end.
obsidian I feel that it wouldn't have been a display of power from Cap. I feel that his entrance would have lead to another one of those Avengers 1 moments As in, Cap's leadership skills would have came to play. Imagine him showing up and leading the entire population of Wakandan Warriors plus the superheroes in the same way he lead the Original 6 Avengers in the first film. However it would have been more epic do to the severity of the situation. But I do agree that the Thor entrance was much more impactful.
MidnightWingz I love Cap and that would have been cool but Thor using the bifrost, while storm breaker takes out some enemies, then summoning thunder to clear the battle field as everyone looks on was such hype inducing moment. I don't think Cap could have created a moment too that level given the situation at that time in the battle.
Cap's entrance wouldn't have been as epic as Thor's because that entrance had the black order be like "oh shit" while the avengers were like "oh yeah" i doubt the same would have been said if it was captain America and that scene showed how powerful thor is unlike the previous avengers movie in they mostly focused on ironman cap and hulk
Feel bad for them on Star-Lord. Pretty self explanatory - he’s a flawed human character. And there’s all this hate for him because some people just can’t grasp that characters have to make mistakes every now and then.
cosgrove360 This really bothered me too. I love how people criticize his decision making, yet 90% of them would have done the same thing if they were in his shoes. Humans react emotionally, instinctively, and some times that has negative consequences.
Cameron Babb completely disagree on most people making that choice. I reckon it would be closer to 50%. Regardless of it though, the writers of the film stated in a 50 minute interview that it didn’t matter anyway because even if they had got the gauntlet off, Thanos would have beat their asses and taken it back, which is scary considering how many heroes were there at the time lol
Doug Jones With the gauntlet they had him immobilized. Without the gauntlet, he somehow gets more powerful? This sounds like lazy excuse making on part of the directors and writers. It seems like Quills reaction was put in there specifically to mess up the attempt and draw the movie out. Gauntlet comes off, Strange whips it through a portal halfway across the world, or universe. At the very least, they bought themselves time to figure out how to deal with the threat, if not reverse engineer the gauntlet to work for them. I personally would have waited through the heartbreak until the gauntlet was gone, and then work as a team to either imprison or destroy him. They were doing a decent job of fighting him WITH the gauntlet, and ruining the attempts of the rest of the team would accomplish nothing. Some people are incapable of thinking with their head, and not their heart. His decision was made during a time of emotional confusion, and only wound up helping Thanos and hurting the attempts of his teammates to take the gauntlet from Thanos.
Jousty Birdington Your last paragraph literally explains his decision. I find it rich that you think you could've kept a level head in that situation. My problem wasn't with Quill's reaction but that no one tried to stop him.
I am glad Thor had that entrance not only is it my favourite scene it also made Thor the tough guy he really is..there because in the other 2 avengers movies he was under used
Thanks for completing and for the most part delivering on one of the most difficult and largest scale cinematic projects in history. What you guys pulled off was a marvel (no pun intended) of storytelling.
There'll definitely be more Avengers movies in the future. But naturally it'll be a revolving cast. Avengers 5 probably won't feature any of the cast from Avengers 1...
This was a great interview. I loved how light and easy it felt but that it also revealed some really great insight into Anthony and Joe's directorial process. Great work to the interviewer!
Great interview, great directors and fantastic movie! Can't wait to see how Avengers 4 plays out! Cap and Tony's true time to shine together is coming!
You may think this is suffering. No... it is salvation. The universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile...[Asgardian gets stabbed and dies] for even in death, you have become children of Thanos😀😀😀👍
I always enjoy their interviews, they are quite humble for guys who did such stellar work and made most successful movie in history. It's obvious that they're huge fans of the source material and great caretakers for those characters, it emanates throughout every interview. No wonder they earned their utmost respect from us, the fans. Good interview!
Hybby z zach Did All The Great Things For The Dc Universe Because He Created It ..joss Come And Then Do his Own Telling And Make It feel Like An Marvel Movie Marvel + Dc =Sucks
i have to thank the directors, the whole movie and the way the charicters are used the action to diolog ratio all done so tightly thats it was engageing from start to finnish and i never felt overwhelmed. the best avengers movie so far for me due to its emotoinal envolvement more credable responses and some of the best action i have seen. after the second one they should do star wars as they could bring it back from the dead and breath new life into it.
I gotta say I like that idea of the Avengers divided and Cap getting that heroes entrance. It is less screen time but it sounds like the screen time would have more quality. I love Cap, Winter Soldier is my favourite Marvel movie, but there's no denying he just kinda stands around and waits until Thanos attacks Wakanda.
Ryan I think it was fair to give Thor the chance to shine. Especially given the fact that he just got a major upgrade in Ragnarok, plus his new hammer, and you see him as the first one engaging with Thanos at the beginning of the movie. And after how unimpressively he was handled in previous Avengers movies, I liked seeing him teleport in Style and kick some ass
he’ll get his shine in avengers 4. I think in infinity war they wanted to make sure the large audience would begin to like characters like the gaurdians, spidey, and strange because they are the future of the mcu.
Some of the best directors in the world right there. Perfectly balanced the comedy aspects, but still kept the deep serious plots of the story, I wish they could direct so many more the MCU movies and honestly direct some of the DCEU movies as well lol they need help at DC.
My only problem is that captain marvel and avengers 4 dates should have been spaced more. It's even talks avengers 4 release date changing to April again. We might not get an avengers trailer until January I know marvel is going to want to shift the focus on captain marvel.so the avengers 4 trailer will be captain marvel heavy
The ESB loss of arm thing was a phase two thing due to Feige associating phase two as the middle chapter of this 3 phase storytelling and being a huge SW fan. It was not a phase 3 continuation at all, this interviewer is clearly a casual fan.
please no more annoying music in the background. it adds nothing to the interview and is downright distracting. otherwise good interview for the parts i could actually understand
arashdeep singh um no because it’s going to be a cheesy where Thanos loses while having all 6 infinity stones which is bullshit. He better win and put it back like in the comics.
The cloak of levitation gave the best performance......it's funny to watch it interact with Stark and Spiderman..the blanket of death and a loyal piece of outer wear! ✌
its hard to imagine that cap could make an entrance similar to thor, because thor switched the odds back to the good side. cap wouldnt have been able to do that..
I'm glad that they brought up how Thor messed up too. Everybody gets on Starlord's case, but nobody ever calls out Thor for taking his sweet time killing Thanos, even though he still had the Infinity Gauntlet on.
As I watched the movie again this time I realised how much editing and crisp story telling has gone in place and it's insane. Thanos appears as protagonist 3rd time onwards. Russos are real wizards of story telling, no doubt about it but secretly they seem to be from Hydra. They crushed S.H.E.I.L.D. in Winter soldier, tore apart Avengers in Civil War and now they killed half of the Universe in Infinity War. Hail Hydra 😄
this movie.... blew my FUCKING mind... ive been waiting for this pretty much all my life, and i was happy just seeing the first avengers movie but this... this was truly some next level shit.. seeing spidey die in tonys arms literally made me wanna vomit i was so sad.. this is storytelling on a whole different level.. my deepest respects go out to all the people who worked on this epic.
I only saw I-War once when in theaters b/c I couldn't bear to see Black Panther, Spider-Man & Nick Fury get Snaptureized = The Russo Bros are Geniuses #MakeMineMarvel
Peter Quill is still my favorite MCU character beside Thor, Strange, and Spidey. (SPIDER-MAN MY NUMBER ONE) anyways I don’t really mind what Star Lord did because it was all a part of Stranges plan. The minute Thanos arrived to his home planet Titan, Strange already knew what was going to take place. Just be happy they didn’t kill Cap like the comics did during this war of balance.
Tbh with you. The Russo Bros were well known for TV Shows before going on the big budget films such as this. You might catch their names popping up on a random *Arrested Development* episode tho.
they messed up with star lord, you could have just had them get close but they cant remove the gauntlet, or maybe their plan just straight flubs cause they dont realize how to fight against 3 infinity stones together....i mean, when u know ur about to get ur revenge and u need to just wait 4 sec to hit him in the face....i dont buy it. I've never seen that kind of "choice" and said "ya! i totally get it!"....EVERYONE in the 3 showings i saw during that moment just boo's him or awww's in resignation....the execution for THAT moment was BAD - they should have just NOT shown the gauntlet coming off, and then u could have the moment AND not blame star lord cause it doesnt cost them the universe. the arguments about splitting the avengers up doesnt make sense, ur assuming they'd have a fighting chance; Thor's attack makes sense but ppl buy it because it can EASILY be argued that his aim wasn't precise enough or maybe the pushback from thanos' beam threw it off-course from thor's initial aim to his head or any other # of valid reasoning.....with start lord, we GET the reasoning, no on buys it because the very next scene shows the gauntlet coming off and tony saying "We've almost got it". In this case messing up means u can't bring gamora back....and he made the CHOICE to mess it up...and not bring gamora back....
Zed obsidian I feel that it wouldn't have been a display of power from Cap. Nyasha Muronzi well you need to check your wording then because the way you've wrote it sounds like you're trying to correct me. Still though, still a bit strange you'd say that specifically in response to my comment
These interviewers are lame... if they let me interview them it would be much entertaining and since am a fan so my questions will be very relatable to most.
I'm not a star lord's big fan or whatever. I wanna tell you guys who hate star lord... ayo idiot, dr.strange already have seen a plenty of future, and he also saw star lord's behavior. In other words,,, eventhough star lord didn't punch thanos, they could be lost. If punching thanos was not a winning future, why didn't dr. Strange stopped him before he punched thanos??? Serously I want you guys to think more
