Incredible job on your review! I just ordered this bike in the Borealis color scheme and can’t wait to get it on the trails. I’m kind of a sci-fi movie geek, so I like the noise the motor makes. It sounds like a droid from Star Wars. 😅
Thank you for your kind words about of production. We hope you were able to use the Miss GoElectric discount link in our video description! Happy riding :) -Producer Tim
Great job with the review, but I would have to disagree that the Ramblas is only a one-trick pony. Yes, Ramblas is made for the trails as a bonafide mountain bike but it could also serve you well as a commuter bike, with a few added accessories. I would feel right at home owning the Ramblas for mountain biking and also for some very stylish and very comfortable commuting. Comfortable...at least for my riding sensibilities. I'm waiting for the full suspension Ramblas, but Aventon has a winner with their first foray into the mtb segment.
Sure, any bike *CAN* be used for any function. A good commuter will protect the rider from mud and rain spray with high coverage fenders. A great commuter will have a horn, turn signals, integrated brake light, comfortable seat, and a riding position which can be sustained on flat ground for a long time. The best computers also offer anti theft hardware, location tracking, rear racks, and front baskets. Aventon makes some great commuters and we have reviewed them all. Ramblas is not one of them. In fact, we have reviewed lower priced eMTBs which are more well suited for commuting but less adept at actual mountain bike functionality. Design and engineering decisions are always a trade off. It is our goal to articulate the consequences of specialization as well as the quality of execution. We stand by this review. We have published a detailed 8 part eBike buying guide to help riders understand what to look for when selecting the best bike for a given function. Http://guide.missgoelectric.com -Producer Tim
The fork could be better. Also, the wheels and tires are not tubeless compatible..... I would also remove the stand.....Extra weight. I think this bike will also work on paved bikeways and gravel roads. Good video. Thank you for sharing...I will go test drive one.
Parts can always be improved, but cost goes up. We hope our reviews help viewers understand the balance struck by any given eBike. Other eMTB reviews are online at deals.missgoelectric.com -Producer Tim
Nice review - looks like a really good bike. My price range is more $1500 - $2000 though, and have seen your reviews on the Rift, Basalt ST, and the Summit, all of which are contenders for my $$. Curious to see more on the Ride1Up Prodigy XC mid-drive at current $1499. Would really like to see you review a couple of 20" fat tire bikes like the Troxus Lynx Plus or Mokwheel Scoria on that forest trail you ride and get your thoughts.
Thanks for commenting! We have reviewed many 20" fat tire eBikes. Most are listed with coupon codes at deals.missgoelectric.com You can see the complete playlist of nearly 80 reviews here: ru-vid.com/group/PLsF7RB0eZNiN0P1l-x5u4bGh8S1cQy7bm -Producer Tim
Would love to know your opinion on using this bike on paved bike trails and roads? I’m looking for something that I can ride mainly on roads and bike trails that are primarily flat, but would love to have the ability to take it off road once in a while.
This eBike has no fenders, turn signals, or rack. The seat is not built for comfort. Almost any Aventon model is better for commuting compared to this one. This is the best Aventon option for off road, hands down. In our view, the Aventon Aventure.2 better matches the objectives you've expressed. -Producer Tim
I own a ramblas. I live near Washington D.C and use my bike, I'd say 50/50 pave and trails. Bike weights bout 55ish pounds and it's a lil noisy my only flaws
The first eBike Miss GoElectric purchased and reviewed was the Nireeka Prime. We do not recommend the Ramblas or the Nireeka as an all purpose daily rider. We would encourage you to consider bikes in the best category to ride every day. We have created an eBike Buying Guide to help: ru-vid.com/group/PLsF7RB0eZNiNeopGKBs5I2_UcPaKkxZp6 -Producer Tim
Some corrections are needed for the viewers. The 4 amp charger will charge the bike in around 4 hours. "An hour or two" is wildly inaccurate. The Ramblas is also not "designed to be strictly a mountain bike". Aventon lists the bike on their own website as an EMTB / Commuter. There are also many videos here on RU-vid where people say it can absolutely be used as a commuter. There is a rear rack available for the Ramblas for cargo. No fenders, however.
BykerSoosh your assertions are incorrect. 4Amps at 120v is 480 watts of power. A 4Amp charger delivers up to 960Wh during two hours of charging. We know that this battery has a total capacity of 708Wh. Owners will rarely, if ever fully discharge a battery. The bike will limp then shut down before exhaustion. Even with battery management system regulation, 2 hours is a reasonable recharging expectation for the Ramblas battery. This duration is in line with our experience charging the battery over a dozen times. The Ramblas description does not call it a commuter. Here is the exact product title language copied and pasted just now: "Ramblas eMTB Our eMTB that’s trail tested and road ready." Of course any bike can be used as a commuter. In fact a scooter, tricycle, or unicycle could be used that way too . That does not make them competitive in the category. We know that the most popular commuters are focused on comfort and/or efficiency. This bike is not high ranking in either category among the 40+ commuter targeted eBikes which we have reviewed. Our language was clear that this bike is not ideally suited as a commuter due to a lack of wet weather rider protection (fenders), low-comfort MTB seat, hunched riding position, lack of turn signals, lack of integrated brake light, and lack of horn. At this price and with those features missing, the Ramblas would not rank in our top 100 eBikes as a commuter. It is a fun eMTB and would do the trick of getting many riders to the trailhead as well. All of that is in our detailed review. It is great that Aventon added a rear rack as an option after this review was filmed. We predicted that could happen out loud in the review. If you attempt to undermine our credibility with falsehoods again, you will be prohibited from commenting on this channel. Misinformation is not welcome, and neither is your tone calling our work "wildly inaccurate". -Producer Tim
I think you over reacted to his comments he didn’t deserve a response like the one you gave him (also Aventon states Ramblas is compatible with fenders)
No "corrections" are "needed" for our viewers related to our video as Soosh proclaimed. Our brand is predicated upon informational integrity. Misogyny or other inflammatory attacks on Miss GoElectric will be met with aggressive defense. We review the product sold by the manufacturer. At the time of this review, there were no factory fenders available. To my knowledge, there are still no Aventon fenders available. You are correct in saying that any bike can be fitted with a third party solution for any problem. -Producer Tim
It is from Rivian's gear shop and it specifically fits my truck. You can use my referral code for rewards if you have a Rivian as well: LAYCEE11876922 There are probably some options on Amazon for other trucks as well. Search for "tailgate bike pad" and you should see some options. I also have a hitch-mounted rack listed on deals.missgoelectric.com with a discount code but the bike pad is pretty quick and easy when I'm in a rush.
