You are correct eMoped STYLE ebikes like this do not have a VIN, just like all other eBikes. Consequently, they cannot be registered or insured like motor vehicles. In the official Aniioki marketing materials, they refer to this as an eMoped Style eBike. This is an electric motorcycle, legal on road and highways with DOT certification. It looks like eStraps produces only electric bicycles. The 5.4kWh battery you've mentioned is by far the largest we've ever seen on an eBike. It is indeed more capacious than the 4.3kWh battery in the Ryvid Anthem. We aren't sure that feature alone sets the eBike above the Ryvid Anthem. That said, one of our first reviews was the Surron XX and we had a great time on that. Cheat? If you don't know how to ride and care for a horse, are you cheating by riding a motorized vehicle? 100 years ago, some would have said yes. Many decades ago the department of motor vehicles removed a mandate requiring that students learn to drive a car using a manual transmission. Passenger vehicle drivers no longer demonstrate proficiency operating a clutch pedal at any point during driver education. Is everybody who drives an automatic vehicle cheating? Almost every vehicle sold today features onboard navigation. Are drivers without paper maps in the glovebox cheating? Naw. Technology advances. You seem to have claimed that it is "proper" for humans to utilize inferior or antiquated methodologies. That kind of thinking is counter to civilization. Anyhow, you may have misunderstood the entire story. Miss GoElectric was forced to study and certify on an old fashioned internal combustion motorcycle. She completed the certification and possesses a motorcycle license in the state of Michigan. She earned the endorsement adhering to exactly the same terms as every other rider who has every certified. The point is that electric motorcycles exhibit a different set of properties and it would greatly benefit everyone if new riders were able to receive state-mandated instruction upon motorcycles which fundamentally operate similarly to what they will spend their lives riding. -Producer Tim
Clutch use isn't part of the test, dude. My spouse has taken the test multiple times (and always passed it) over the years and never is she tested on clutch use.
Classes and testing where I am can be done with auto trans ICE motorcycles so I don't see any reason to exclude electric powered motorcycles, which are just auto/non-shifting with a different power plant type. Most of one's training/practice primarily occurs outside of the class/test environment so what's the fundamental difference?...testing is mostly about awareness and control of a different type of vehicle. The Africa Twin is ICE auto which I can test on. But if I never ride any other mc, I still wouldn't know manual shifting. Is that "cheating?"

Some electric motorcycles just aren't there yet especially with the higher cost. Why pay that much when you can get ebikes with almost 100 miles of range, about 40mph, dual motors, no license, insurance and registration and cost under $3,000.00? I mean how often are you really going to drive it at top speed especially when it'll probably be used for urban commuting and not freeway/highway use? Just a thought or 2.
We have reviewed about 100 eBikes. We like them too. We have found that the motorcycle is another animal all together. There are pros and cons to every mode of transportation. Thanks for sharing your views. -Producer Tim
An e-moto like this will go 75 miles at 45-50MPH keeping up with cars with ease. A typical higher-end e-bike will top out around 40MPH and go only 20-25 miles, and depending on where you live, 40MPH ain't gonna cut it, more people drive over the speed limit than under. The only e-bikes that ever came close were ones with direct drive hub motors like the ONYX RCR and CTY2 and it's only now, years later that we have bikes to replace them; Spark Cycleworks Javelin & Brute, and Lyric Graffiti X just to name a few, but still with nowhere near the range of a true e-moto. There's a bunch of other e-motos that can go beyond 100 miles, but aren't nearly as affordable as the Anthem or Outset. The only other one that comes close is the Land Moto District but that's near $10k with the largest battery.
@@ChitFromChinola I didn't say they weren't. I was simply pointing out the fact that there's ebikes on the market now with 60+Ah battery packs that cost a 3rd of this motorcycle and get almost twice the range. What's wrong with pedals and cranks? If the battery dies on an E-moto you can't pedal it home.
@@DesuVR Check out Aniioki and Eahora ebikes. Their long range bikes have more range and cost less than half of this motorcycle's price. I don't just randomly post comments without the knowledge to back it up, unlike some people apparently.

@@MissGoElectricRideReviews The Outset is going to be extremely similar to the Anthem. If you do a video I suggest a comparison vid of less than 12 minutes to highlight the differences between the two models, so prospective Ryvid buyers end up with the model that they'd be happiest with.

The microphone we use is the DJI Mic. amzn.to/3TeIEB8 It was very windy so we had to hide the microphone inside the jacket during the standup sections. That placement does an injustice to the tone these microphones are capable of capturing, but it made all of the audio usable. There is some post-processing on the audio to remove wind noise during the on-road portion. The microphone was placed inside the helmet with a dead-cat filter while riding. We use the FOD FX8Pro amzn.to/3XcZ65T We use it rider-rider communication and bluetooth audio. We are happy with them. We haven't tried anything else so we aren't sure how much better others might be. I can say we have had no trouble with battery life and range is 1/2 mile or so as long as the antenna is extended on each unit. -Producer Tim
This is a commuter bike. Most city riders would not exceed 50-70 miles on a commute. Those who do might consider an extra battery or a longer range electric motorcycle. Our review of the 200 mile Zero DSR/X is coming soon...but for the price of that bike a person can buy almost four Ryvid Anthems. -Producer Tim
I'd be able to drive from one end of Phoenix to the other any way you slice it with range to spare on this battery if I keep my temptations in check and follow speed limits. Area 13 has done a range test with the Outset: 40 miles minimum with spirited driving or up to 70 miles driving conservatively in eco mode.

Excellent and thorough review with lots of useful info for owners! Reviews of this bike are so scarce and sorely needed. I'll be receiving my own Anthem very soon coming from a Lectric XP2.0 and Onyx CTY2, which I ride on the street just like a motorcycle. Also, they threw in the ASI controller for free even before they put out the promo just days later. Either I got lucky, Ryvid is just that awesome, or both. 😁

@@MissGoElectricRideReviews I can get about 35-40 miles in sport mode and somewhere around 60 miles in Eco mode. My average speed is usually around 40mph and I tend to have a heavy throttle hand, especially after having the controller upgrade done.

Nice video. I just purchased the T1ST at a bicycle shop for $900 bucks, wish I would have know about the plus I would have paid the extra bucks. I going to purchase the Velotric Range Extender Battery for the bicycle. I like to ride far.

It sounds like a pretty nice gateway motorcycle if you're coming from an ebike. In terms of capability, it seems like the electrical equivalent of a Honda Grom but with half the range.

Some corrections are needed for the viewers. The 4 amp charger will charge the bike in around 4 hours. "An hour or two" is wildly inaccurate. The Ramblas is also not "designed to be strictly a mountain bike". Aventon lists the bike on their own website as an EMTB / Commuter. There are also many videos here on RU-vid where people say it can absolutely be used as a commuter. There is a rear rack available for the Ramblas for cargo. No fenders, however.
BykerSoosh your assertions are incorrect. 4Amps at 120v is 480 watts of power. A 4Amp charger delivers up to 960Wh during two hours of charging. We know that this battery has a total capacity of 708Wh. Owners will rarely, if ever fully discharge a battery. The bike will limp then shut down before exhaustion. Even with battery management system regulation, 2 hours is a reasonable recharging expectation for the Ramblas battery. This duration is in line with our experience charging the battery over a dozen times. The Ramblas description does not call it a commuter. Here is the exact product title language copied and pasted just now: "Ramblas eMTB Our eMTB that’s trail tested and road ready." Of course any bike can be used as a commuter. In fact a scooter, tricycle, or unicycle could be used that way too . That does not make them competitive in the category. We know that the most popular commuters are focused on comfort and/or efficiency. This bike is not high ranking in either category among the 40+ commuter targeted eBikes which we have reviewed. Our language was clear that this bike is not ideally suited as a commuter due to a lack of wet weather rider protection (fenders), low-comfort MTB seat, hunched riding position, lack of turn signals, lack of integrated brake light, and lack of horn. At this price and with those features missing, the Ramblas would not rank in our top 100 eBikes as a commuter. It is a fun eMTB and would do the trick of getting many riders to the trailhead as well. All of that is in our detailed review. It is great that Aventon added a rear rack as an option after this review was filmed. We predicted that could happen out loud in the review. If you attempt to undermine our credibility with falsehoods again, you will be prohibited from commenting on this channel. Misinformation is not welcome, and neither is your tone calling our work "wildly inaccurate". -Producer Tim

No "corrections" are "needed" for our viewers related to our video as Soosh proclaimed. Our brand is predicated upon informational integrity. At the time of this review, there were no factory fenders available. To my knowledge, there are still no Aventon fenders available. The Xpedition is a good bike. My grand parents bought me one as a gift as they have 2 on their RV and love it. I had a few issues the first week of owning the Xpedition and tried to contact Lectric. They said the warranty does not transfer and my warranty was void since I did not purchase the bike. Kind of crazy if you ask me. I had to spend close to $300 for a new rear wheel within the first 15 miles on the odometer. I also replaced the kickstand at about 200 miles as it would loosen up after every ride.
Nice bike in a great color. I love bold colors on bikes. I was looking for a lightweight, low-powered city ebike. I didn't want to hurt myself on my first ebike 😂 But I ended up getting an Electra Loft Go 7D. It's a bit more pricey, but I wanted to buy local and there are a lot of bike shops in its brand network for service. Treks are beloved here! Hard to find reviews for the 7D though, maybe because of the lower powered battery. Already got the bike, but I would appreciate a review as a new rider 😊

I wish I could get this bike in Canada. I have the Aventon 500.3 and it's great. I think ebikes are only allowed to have 500w motor here and the Discovery 2 has a 750w one so perhaps that's the reason. Would like to smuggle one north ;)
If you were to compare the fold 1 to the discover 1?? I’d like to be able to pull around a bike trailer in the city. Will the folding ability really be that much easier to bring with a car if I already have a bike rack??

Nice review - looks like a really good bike. My price range is more $1500 - $2000 though, and have seen your reviews on the Rift, Basalt ST, and the Summit, all of which are contenders for my $$. Curious to see more on the Ride1Up Prodigy XC mid-drive at current $1499. Would really like to see you review a couple of 20" fat tire bikes like the Troxus Lynx Plus or Mokwheel Scoria on that forest trail you ride and get your thoughts.

Thank you for reviewing the Flyer and Packer 1. I'm currently debating the two. I would like to take my 9yo daughter on rides and also do some local food deliveries. I know there is a cost difference (especially compared to the Via Pro), but that's not a huge deciding factor for me. The torque sensor vs cadence sensor of the VP1 is more of an impact for me. Would like to hear your overall thoughts between the two and how you felt both of them were to ride.

Personally, I will always default to the torque sensor like you mentioned because I prefer the smooth riding feel and control especially when you are carrying a load. You don't want the bike jolting forward with a boost of power which is typical with most cadence sensors. The Via can hold so much with the kid carrier accessory as well and would probably be an ideal option for your delivery needs as well. The sheer capability and functionality is unlike any other accessory I have seen for its purpose. At this moment with what is available on the market from both, I'd go with the Flyer. @@KiMazbaru3 I would say the handle bars on the flyer come back more towards the rider which makes the riding position more upright. I prefer that on a bike in this segment. But they aren't too different. I would say 5 mph is an important difference if you're riding on the road with traffic (especially considering load weight and that affecting speed). Otherwise 5 less is fine on paths or protected lanes.
