I remember being new to MvM and I equipped the gas passer once and that put me on the equivalent of a government watchlist overseen by tacobot.

Last time I played MVM, ran into one of these people. Tried explaining to the guy that I had 4,000 hours in TF2 and had played a bunch of community MVM so that I knew what I was doing but he stilled tried to kick me for refusing to play Botbash meta. Vote fails. He and his friend leave the game. Two new guys show up. One of the guys who defended me that game got an Australium Force-a-nature. Karmic justice.

I had a moment like that ! The guy was mad i was playing pyro , tried to kick me , failed then he went airblast pyro and just airblastes the bomb to the hatch . He got kicked after that stunt .

I just played a match with one of the nicest, most supportive, and definitely good teams ever. After coming from a match where my friend was berated because he is new to mvm (and tf2 in general) it's a nice refresher

i once was playing your average manhattan game as engie (aroun 6 tours), doing my job, the buildings well placed when i suddenly got kicked on the final wave aftr like 50 mins playing since the start. Ever since I've been discouraged of playing mvm

It was almost like mvm was a mode where you could test and see what works and what is not ideal. Imo any weapon that makes other people's job better its fine. And the only reason they hate the gas passers is that the demo mains get super mad when there not carrying the whole tour. Narcissistic assholes love to come here to this mode. I play medic in mvm, I say nothing to my teamates in voice or chat. I just heal and try not to die.

I actually won in that map only with an engineer, a demo and me as pyro. Also, a heavy helped us one round but he left in the next. I like good memories

"follow meta or I am going to leave" are these pro high tours not just Timothy threatening you to bring his friends along or isn't going to come to your birthday party because he (and to some extent his goons) thinks that they are going to be the magnum opus of your party. I just can't understand why MVM high tours can go through hundreds of tours and not get even a little happiness when someone gets off the Meta and enjoys the game? Talk about being literal slaves to the system lol.

MVM is the gamemode you play when you are too toxic for real tf2 but not toxic enough to play League of Legends.

First MvM experience in 2012 was way more different than what I've seen during the MvM Anniversary Annihilation event this month. Had a dude going mad at me cuz' I missed 3 bucks on the first wave when robots annihilated the whole team and made progress, or that one guy who used the n-word often because we were stuck on an expert wave for 20 minutes 👍

Play bootcamp trust me you will find detonator pyros, gunslinger engis and shotgun heavies all the time and no one gets kicked because no one cares it's really funny

After almost 100 tours I've met tons of the usual toxic players/tacobots, but the weirdest one I've ever met was a high tour who was actually getting mad because our team wanted someone to switch to Engineer. He kept calling Engineer a "crutch", that we didn't need healing/a dispenser, etc. He left when we kept losing bc we had no Engineer. Gambling addictions legit mess with people's heads. I'm glad I still think MVM is fun. Those people with crazy amounts of tours seem to have no joy playing this mode and so they take it out on the people playing with them like the antisocial psychos they are.

I still dont understand why these MvM tryhards think the gas passer is terrible, with the explode on ignite upgrade it basically becomes a rechargeable sticky trap.

Had a sniper get mad because I was airblast giant scouts back to keep them from getting passed. Sentry took them out but sniper who prob can't hit a pvp headshot felt the need to get pissy. People you never wanna play with are the sniper mains they are the worst because mvm is the only mode they can hit a headshot and they'll let you know if they can't hit them.

Mann Up is so fun until people start arguing against each other. I've had a drunk person playing Demo in a Rottenburg mission before we kicked him for being inactive for an entire wave and generally being far too british in chat whilst threatening us. I've had a fair amount of good and bad times in Two Cities, lately been trying to get better as Demo and Sniper so that I could virtually play any class (except Spy for obvious reasons) and still assist the team well.

Me and my friend once got kicked on the last wave of our last match, we were fucking pissed because they had no reason at all to kick us, but everyone went with the troller and said “yeah ill kick the two guys that are carrying us”.

how to be the best/coolest person in mvm in a few simple steps step 1: pick meta loadout step 2: belittle anyone who doesn't use meta loadout step 3: say "i have more tours than you" whenever anyone doesn't do what you say or argues with you ( this establishes dominance and lets them know how skilled you are and how much you dont need them) step 4: deliberately sabotage the game when steps 1 through 3 doesnt work. step 5: bask in the pool of how cool and right you are about everything after leaving on wave 2 of mannhattan step 6: find a new game and repeat

Playing MvM is really fun, but not as random and chill as Casual. That certain mentality of "we're up against AI" really spark that competitive nature in people.

Everyone literally always berates Pyros. My first time on MvM, I went AFK for a split second and came back to the entire server having a go at me for not changing class.

My literal first mann up game I had this demo with something like 1800+ tours, you could basically smell him through the screen. He was mean to everyone, complaining about every little thing. I basically told him to touch grass and he stfu for the rest of the game. It was pretty funny

Mvm yeah cool golden weapons. Just play the damn game and have fun. That medics a OH I WANT TO WIN ALL THE TIME THATS HOW YOU HAVE FUN. kind of person. Me? I go caber demoknight. Enforcer spy, trollgier, sniper harasser (pyro with degreaser jetpack and axetinguisher, lucksman and flying double donk caber demo. Because I have fun even if I loose.

MVM is super toxic, I play as medic, and if I even mess up a single action, the whole team will yell at me, they tell me to Kill Myself and then they kick me.
