I lived in South Korea for 3 years and reently moved to Colorado around 3 days ago and I will agree that South Koreans work real hard especially education wise. They are also very kind and love Americans. It is really nice there except for the horrible air quality that gets you sick. Oh yeah and the food there is amazing, Korean BBQ, Kimchi, and my all time favorite "Live Octopus" which is literally live moving octopus. The video was great and I can agree with everything on the South Korean side, even though I lived in South Korea, all I can really say about North Korea is that they are definitely suffering there.

this video has many problems. first, South korean women's usual heigh is 161cm (=5.3ft) second, this video shows not usual north koreans but very rich north koreans third, in north korea, a number of people die because of sturving in years.. l wish that foriegners should studying about north korea..

I understand you're trying to keep the information unbiased, but North Korea is far worse than you make them out to be in this video. The county is run by fear, and ruled with absolute power. Every "citizen" is meticulously monitored to avoid any escapes from the country. North Koreans are on the "lighter side" because the government give them barely enough food to survive. Every so much as whisper about the leader is instant death, and every person who thinks of escape is put in a camp (along with every possible family member they can find) and worked to death. Every year, the leaders of North Korea come out and show off their "power" to renew their trade deals. It's the only thing keeping the country from going under. If you've ever talked to refugees from North Korea, it's truly horrifying to hear their stories. Many have made books, such as Escape From Camp 14. Anyone who escapes can expect any family they leave behind to be dead. Thats the sacrafice they have to live with in attanting their freedom. Absolute fear leads the people to do things purely out of self preservation. The guards at the DMZ on the south Korean side, for example, have to lock hands and arms as they enter the negotiations and communications room, because North Koreans in the past have attemted to drag South Korean soldiers across the border into the North for honor and a higher posltion. In light of the real issues surrounding North Korea, differences like you highlighted don't much matter. (I'm a halfie btw, lived in Korea most of my life. I've worked with North Korean refugees at volunteer shelters and habe spent alot of time researching the war and the aftermath.)

It's almost true that we students in korea should study notorioulsy because of the social culture, but it's not that serious about the suicide rate of studens here...
