Her father is a brave and good man. He is a dreamer. He risked it all to give his family a life of freedom, even though he went through the brainwashing himself. He saw through it. And now his daughter’s life (and all his future generations) are forever changed for the better. I’m so happy for them. Good job, Dad!

일부러 그렇게 의도하고 캐스팅하신지는 모르겠는데 두 학생이 되게 닮았네요.. 쌍둥인줄 알았어요 잘봤습니다 흥미로운 내용입니다

여느 한국인 소녀와 다름없는 애띤 모습이지만 정말 그 어린 나이에 겪어보지 못할 일들을 많이 해쳐나오셨네요. 아버지와 함께 먼길을 달려오신 그 용기가 너무 존경스럽습니다.

너무나 이쁘고 순수한 소녀인데 북한에 그대로 있었으면 이러한 진실도 모르고 자유를 느껴보지도 못하고 인생을 살아갔을거라 생각하니 안타까우면서도 다행이라는 생각이 드네요ㅠㅠ

I was wondering how she got to watch all kinds of tv show while in North Korea and then she said her father was a smuggling. hihi Good for her and her family to have been out. His father was a smart man for saving up and having a connection with smuggling so they had a connection outside to help them escape. I can't imagine being in a place where you're basically told what you can and cannot do. So happy that she and her family have well adjusted.

Hyunkyung way of speak and story telling were really, really good! And her voice matched perfectly with this kind of setup. If she make a podcast (either voice only or a video) I bet it would suit her really well. A vlog is also suit for her

This was so fun informative to watch. I liked how they filmed it as a conversation. It felt more intimate and sincere because they were just having a friendly conversation by themselves and did not focus on the audience. I learned a lot as well.

Her story is amazing and breathtaking, her dad must have been really brave and a strong person to take this decision and they almost didn’t make it 😮‍💨 I hope they have an amazing life now 🥰❤️❤️❤️

I read once the book "when broken glass floats" describing how the author had fled the cambodian dictatorship of Pol Pot. It's horrific. This girl seems to have been really lucky in her escape. The moment i heard her say she was going to tell her story i had my guts tied in a knot... very happy for her and wish her well for the future ❤ kudos to the amazing dad!!!

남한에서도 예전에는 청소는 학생이 했지요. 국민학교 때 신설학교라 책걸상도 다 학생들이 넣었고요. 운동장도 학생들이 평평하게 골랐어요. 북한이 아직도 이러는 건 그냥 경제력 수준 때문.

우리나라도 8090년대에 학생들이 다 교실 청소하고 화장실도 치웠음 에어콘도 없어서 선풍기로 버티고 겨울에는 잠바 껴입고 공부했다 ㅎㅎ

i really like this girl!!! I would ask her so many questions if she were facing me and if she ever writes a book about her life in North Korea and also about how they escape, i'd definitely read it! She's such a sweetheart too

When her father planing to excape, the first thing he tell her she doesn't need to go school that day.. and she said "Asaa! (Yes!)" which I find cute and secondhand anxious on behalf her dad..😊❤

I grew up in vietnam and I also have to wear red ties when going to school, we had school guards, either teachers or other students that checked if the students wore red ties or not. If not, I could get "conduct" deducting points and do trivial jobs like sweeping etc. Almost all public schools in Vietnam had to hang the Ho Chi Minh picture in the class, so I sympathize with Hyun Kyung a lot. But I think she made a mistake in this video, Vietnam has no land borders with Thailand, so it maybe Laos instead.

i applaud this girl for sharing her story about her life in north korea, i hope she gets to live her life happily because she def deserves a good life, also her dads a real g lol

어릴때 중국에서 유학할때 옆자리에 북한 친구가 앉았는데 학교에서 나눠준 공책에 이름을 써준다며 가져가서 빨간펜으로 꺾어쓰기 확실한 필체로 이름을 써주었습니다 ㅠㅠㅋㅋ 어린마음에 정말 싫었지만 티는 못내고 고맙다고했는데 펜이좋다고 하길래 선물로 줬던 경험이 있습니당... 더 어릴때 아빠회사파견때문에 대련에서 조선족소학교를 잠깐 다닌적이있는데 그당시 북한언니오빠들이랑 친하게 지냈었어요 다들 정말 매너있고 착하고 좋은사람들이라는 기억이 있습니다. 너무 옛날이라 요즘엔 어떨지 모르겠네요

학교 운동장을 잔디로 하면 정기적으로 물 줘야 하고 플도 뽑아야 하고 관리인이 반드시 있어야 해요. "내레..." 이건 50년대 평양말이예요. 지금은 잘 안쓰더군요. 그래서 요즘 탈북자들은 그 말을 모르더라구요. 조선시대 왕자들은 어려운 한자를 외자로 썼는데, 이유가 일반 백성들이 이름짓기 편하게 하기 위해서 였어요.

예상했던 대로, 북한사회가 통제가 매우 심하군요. 그런데 여학생으로서 자기 소유 핸드폰도 가지고 있었을 정도로 못살지는 않았네요. 먹고사는 것도 못 먹고 못 입고 사는 정도는 아니었다고 하고요... 아버지가 밀수에 종사했기에 그랬는지도 모르겠습니다.
