Avet LX 4.6 Hard To Crank - Diagnosis & Fix: Fishing Reel Repair 

This Avet LX 4.6 was VERY difficult to crank (The seal on the bearing literally melted away!), but also had a few more issues. The reel was purchased second hand and brought to me to fix. This vid deals, predominantly, with the cranking issue because the reel needed a few other tweaks and TLC elsewhere that I didn't record. Here's the video of the diagnosis and fix. I, generally, use a ratcheting, interchangeable regular-sized screwdriver for the initial loosening of screws. Here's a link to the brand I use:

Get some additional, varying sizes Flathead and Phillips bits while you're at it.
The adjustable wrenches I use (instead of hex nut wrenches) are Husky, but these (with the red insert) work very well... 6-inch will be used the most:
