Hi! good question. They are not parrots because they are not part of the True parrot family which is Psittacidae. They belong to the other family which is Cacatuidae. However both families belong to the Order: Psittaciformes. So yes they are related to True Parrots, but they do not belong to the True parrots classification. But for simple identification people can just commonly refer to them as parrots (though not scientifically accurate).

In the United States, the violet or purple Indian Ringnecks are expensive, including the cleartail mutations. You can see them sometimes in Hoobly Classified for pets (in US) . JC Aviary located in Austin Texas sometimes do have interesting colors. Please see their webpage for reference. Salamat po !

Hello rupert, it's not always a guarantee they get along fine. Alpha and Omega got familiarised with each other at a young age. Though getting your bird a partner is good, I would only suggest is it if you really feel like you can handle keeping two birds, but keeping one bird and having enough time for that bird is already good.

Ive always wanted a pair of Electus, its been my dram, but Ive been reading that they are fine until they get to sexual maturity then they want nothing to do with the carer, they bite and are aggressive if the other is being handled because of jealousy. So then you end up with breeder birds that you cant touch. Have you experienced any of that and how old are your birds?

@@BirdsofCebu Ive read its better to get two females or two males. If getting one its best to get a male because the female is more prone to be aggressive and biting

The video states she is doing 18 years of aviculture because I also include her rearing of young birds back in 2005.

Hi, i dont think any breeders are opting to adopt out their birds, but if you mean will we adopt rehomed birds yes some of us consider it if the bird needs a better home we accept it in our flock
