Every egg sac is a little gift you get to open and discover what is inside! I really enjoy the egg sac pulling and seeing the babies. Mom was amazingly cooperative. Thanks so much for sharing!!

BABIES!!! I was so worried when you said it was feeling like it might be empty. So happy we got so many. Can't wait to see them after they have been, for lack of a better word, moisturized. I get so excited when you open them and I can see the tiny wiggling legs. Thanks to you and Camera Lady for another awesome baby vid. 👶🕷❤

I’ve always been afraid of spiders since a very young child but at the same time I was fascinated with tarantulas. I enjoy your channel because you teach about them. I have learned a bit and have tried to share what I’ve learned with my adult daughter and my granddaughter who we are raising. Neither one will watch with me 😂. Thank you for what you do. I look forward to your videos even though my husband thinks I’m weird.

Just because a spider is wild it doesn't mean that it will breed successfully every time in those conditions. Maybe they are like us and some like different conditions to others. Lovely result for that spider mum.

Always happy to watch a video where you get little baby spiders instead of an empty eggsac (though, those are still interesting [just a little sad because we're invested too]). Can I make a request that will be relatively low work but over the course of a long period? I'd love to see a basic time-lapse of one photo per molt from the tiniest nymph/sling to a full grown adult (perhaps with a basic size reference, like a penny or other relatable thing). That kind of thing is surprisingly hard to find, and for some spiders (like the GBB), SO much can change between a molt in terms of coloring and patterns. I know it may be a lot to ask, but I hope you consider it; I'd love watching it for pretty much any species.
@daveslittlebeasties
@daveslittlebeasties Год назад
That could be around 4-6 years work ? 😂
@AfroRyan
@AfroRyan Год назад
@@daveslittlebeasties True, but it's only like...what's a good average...50 pictures over the those 4-6 years? That's partly why I think it'd be neat too; to see variation in the amount of molts and the frequency of said molts over their growing period for various species popular in the hobby. Obviously I don't actually expect you to do it lol...but it would be cool to see.

The observations you're collecting are priceless. I think you're absolutely right that the care sheets didn't take into consideration the "why" of wild behaviors, and those observations are not directly transferable to keeping spiders in captivity. Your alertness and sensitivity are making a huge difference for the spiders in your care. (You need to write a book.)

I like how She builds a house, instead of a web. 114! That is pretty good. And thank you for the update on the Blues. I noticed that you did mark "Egg Sack" on the front higher up on the glass (so you will know at a glance) (and that is really what I was wondering). I knew you marked them but I also knew that you can't possibly go through reading all of the notes on the enclosures to find the ones with an egg sack. I had also wondered if you place the expecting Mothers in a certain area in the Room? Thank you Dave and Camera Lady!

I think what you say make sense... if you take a person from the high north, if you move them to a warm country they aren't craving snow and ice. Instead, they enjoy the warmth. Okay perhaps they don't like very high temperatures, but they will not put ice in their homes. They will be happy. So I can imagine that spiders from high temperatures environment will love a bit cooler temperatures so they don't have to go underground... and spiders that live in colder environment will be happy they don't have to search for a little warm spot. They will enjoy the warmth... and perhaps be more outside...

Mr. Dave thank you so much for answering my question the last time I commented. My son and I actually went with your recommendation of the A. Geniculata. We love how aggressively it feeds and it is just a fascinating little critter. Although we may have made a very large mistake with it, so we were certain that after having it for about a month in a very small, confined enclosure we decided it was time for it to move into my sons 20 gallon long bioactive terrarium. however unfortunately after moving it there it has disappeared, and we are fearful that it may have found a way past the barrier to the drainage section of his tank. The spider was approximately between 1 and 1.5 inches in length. Did we mess up, and at what point should we be concerned when we haven't seen our spider? I really hope we haven't messed up with our eight-legged friend considering my son and I poured over tons of research set up the terrarium and did what so many different people and sites recommended. We even went as far as to acquire plants that can be found in their natural habitat and planted them in the bioactive enclosure. Is there any advice you can give us on how to proceed? Should we be tearing the tank apart to find it, or do we just need to be patient and hope the little guy eventually shows his face? Thanks for all your help and your awesome videos. Also, on a side note as a personal project I have been getting into millipedes and have a few of the little guys to include some really interesting ones and am considering getting a giant African millipede. I don't suppose you have any millipede experience, do you?

I have sent you posts before and am really trying to like spiders at79 9:33 However I respect them but the other day I was in my bathroom and I saw something red in the corner on the floor. As I looked closer and saw it was a spider. Now I was ready to go to bed and I just couldn’t do that with a spider sitting just few feet away, so I did what an old lady does and took a tissue and smashed it. Then as I examined it I saw it was definitely a rusty red in color. I looked it up on the computer and I think it was a house spider. I live in Pennsylvania USA. I feel guilty now but at the time it was the only thing I could think of to prevent it from crawling around my apartment while I was asleep.
