Im a graduate myself, now work for a major airline.. totally worth it.. but you need to get the license.. just the academics alone wont cut it.

@@CHASA If you can find a company willing to have an A&P licensed tech watch over you then you can have them verify your hours and as long as you meet the total amount of hours needed you can go take the license test or you can go to school.

Ultimately the issue of licences is down to the discretion of the FAA or in my case the CAA. My advice: Tread carefully and ask for information prior to doing any courses from either the FAA or CAA. It is an industry which is peppered by badly managed and badly run training establishments which do not result in the correct qualifications. But which are still approved by the relevant aviation authorities!

Hello 😁, From my research, I can see that the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) is a certification, not a degree. If I would like to study the whole degree, for example, to learn how to program a computer, I would go on the field of Computer science, there I could get my Bachelor of science, Master and even a PHD. If I would like to follow the same concept but for being a the same career as you, in what field or program would I apply for?

Yes I'm a Retired Navy E-7 Chief, Worked for Pacific Coast Avionics for 10 years in Oregon and Carpenters Avionics for 5 years in Murfreesboro Tennessee, Do you have ANY Advice for me around my area of Bowling Green Kentucky? Is it possible to do not go to any training school and get job as technician after graduation. And Start earnings from starting. Because i don't have more money to spent on aviation schools. And really have dreams to become an AME.
